System for the In Situ Cleaning of Dental Implants
Disclosed herein is a cleaning system (30) for a dental implant part (2) that has been introduced into the jaw bone of a patient. For this purpose, in an advantageous embodiment of the invention, a securing element, which is adapted on the end side to connect to a corresponding connection element in the dental implant part, particularly preferably which can be screwed into a thread of the dental implant part by the end side, and to which a distribution element for a cleaning fluid as well as an electrical contact element can be attached, which distribution element can be connected to an external media reservoir via a media channel, and via which electrical contact element, a power source that is connectable to an external power source can be electrically connected to the dental implant part.
Toothbrush system utilizing oral care capsule
A toothbrush includes a brush head having a capsule receiving zone sized to receive a dentrifice capsule. A plurality angled bristles may retain the capsule in such zone. Loading of such toothbrush with a capsule may be performed with a dispenser including a toothbrush manipulation element adapted to move a retention structure associated with the brush head, and dispensation element adapted to deliver the capsule into the receiving zone. Such dispenser may include a desiccant material disposed to receive moisture from a capsule storage container. A dispenser may further include a plurality of toothbrush insertion apertures each adapted to receive a portion of a different toothbrush, so as to enable multiple users each having different toothbrushes to use the same dispenser without requiring contact between multiple brushes and single capsule interface surface of the dispenser.
Device for personal use in phototherapy
There is provided an applicator cartridge for delivery of a photoactivatable composition to a treatment site, having an applicator head and a reservoir adapted to receive the composition, which may be used with a photodynamic therapy device comprising an illuminating member. Methods of using the applicator cartridge and the device are also provided.
Fluoride releasing dental composition and dental appliance
A fluoride-releasing dental composition includes a polymeric compound selected from (meth)acrylate polymers, (meth)acrylate copolymers, ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers, and mixtures and combinations thereof; and a cariostatically effective amount of a fluoride compound. A dental appliance made from the fluoride-releasing dental composition.
CONTROLLED RELEASE DEVICE FOR ORAL CAVITY
The present invention relates to a controlled release device for oral cavity, which is attached on a hard dental surface of a tooth. The attachment is done using any adhesive layer that can attach on enamel surface of a tooth or using a holder attached to the hard dental surface, to which holder the device can be attached, clipped or fastened. The device comprises of two or more polymeric materials forming a polymer matrix or matrices. The polymer matrices incorporate one or more agent(s), which release rate in the oral cavity can be con-trolled with the polymeric materials in the matrices. The invention also relates to a method producing a controlled re-lease device for delivering an agent to the oral cavity.
Oral Care Agent Dispensing System
An oral care implement for dispensing an oral care agent includes a housing, reservoir therein containing an oral care fluid, and an electrical circuit comprising first and second electrodes connected to an onboard power source. Each electrode is in contact with the oral care fluid in the housing. An actuator, operably coupled to the power source, is configured to both selectively energize the circuit and activate dispensing of the oral care fluid. An electrical charge is applied to the oral care fluid by activating the actuator when dispensing the oral care fluid. When the fluid comprises a peroxide based tooth whitening agent, the dispensed fluid pH is increased by the electrical charge which improves the efficacy of the whitener. In one embodiment, the implement is a modular system including a powered base unit and one or more interchangeable cartridges each having a reservoir containing an oral care fluid.
MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR DRUG-INDUCED GINGIVAL OVERGROWTH
Disclosed are gel compositions containing microspheres that encapsulate folic acid and optionally one or more drugs, one or more peptides, one or more growth factors, one or more nucleic acids, or the like, or combinations thereof. The compositions may be in or applied to a device, such as, for example, a dental prosthetic. The composition may be used to treat an individual afflicted with or suspected of having drug-induced gingival overgrowth (DIGO). The composition may be applied directly to the individual or applied through a device, such as, for example, a dental prosthetic. Also described is a method of method of making the composition, a method of making a device, and methods for using the composition.
Intraoral fluid delivery system and method
A system for intraoral fluid delivery comprises a rate-controlled and/or volume-controlled fluid supply device, a reservoir for holding one or more fluids to be delivered to a patient's oral cavity, a mouthpiece to be worn by a patient at least partially within the patient's oral cavity, and tubing to carry the one or more fluids from the fluid supply device to the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece comprises a fluid inlet adjacent and/or exterior to the patient's oral cavity when the mouthpiece is worn by the patient, a fluid outlet posterior to the fluid inlet, and a fluid channel therebetween.
APPLICATION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN APPLICATION DEVICE
An application device for dental compounds includes a housing and an application tool. The housing includes an application channel extending through the housing and an application channel inlet port and an application channel outlet, the application channel outlet being in fluid connection with the application tool. The application device includes a connection section distinct from the housing, the connection section including a connection channel having a connection channel inlet port and a connection channel outlet port. The connection section includes a connecting element arranged at the connection channel inlet port, the connecting element being configured to be connected to an outlet port of a discharging device. The connection channel outlet port is configured to be sealingly connected to the application channel inlet port to build a discharging channel extending from the connection channel inlet port to the application channel outlet.
DENTAL APPLIANCE WITH ION EXCHANGE COATING
A dental appliance including a polymeric shell with an arrangement of cavities configured to receive one or more teeth and a coating on at least portion of the polymeric shell. The coating can include a polyester with an ion exchange functional group covalently bonded thereto, and the ion exchange functional group can release in an oral environment at least one therapeutically beneficial ion at a surface of a tooth.
