GINGIVAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present invention provides a gingival drug delivery system (“GDDS”) and methods of using and making the same. The GDDS comprises a tray with a drug reservoir.
ORAL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present invention provides an oral drug delivery system (“ODDS”) and methods of using and making the same. The ODDS comprises a tray fitted to at least some or all teeth of a patient's upper or lower arch for the application of medications to the patient in need of a medication. The tray is formed from a resilient elastomeric material molded to substantially conform to the teeth and gum tissue, the tray having at least one cavity formed to conform to the teeth, one or more raised ridges surrounding the cavity corresponding to a location along the patient's gum line, and one or more negative grooves configured to receive a medication by the raised ridges, and the negative grooves surrounding the cavity corresponding to an intersection of the teeth and gum line. A tooth structure medication can be included in the cavity apart from the one or more negative grooves.
Dental medicament applicator
A dental medicament applicator is disclosed. In one embodiment, a retention device is sized for insertion at a dental site, such as an interproximal site. The retention device includes a body and at least one matrix within the body containing a topical substance, such as a fluoride-containing chemical agent, silver diamine fluoride, or a peptide-based chemical agent, for example. One or two wings may be selectively separably coupled to respective ends of the body. The body, in response to being physically affixed to the dental site, delivers the topical substance at a controlled rate to the dental site.
Oral applicator device
An intraoral applicator device is described herein that is configured to transfer medicament from the applicator to the gums of a patient. The device and methods of use may assist in topically applying medicament e.g. a topical anaesthetic to the gums of a patient without the need for or use of needles or syringes. In one embodiment, the intraoral applicator device may comprise a body with a shape and configuration that generally conforms with at least part of the shape of the teeth and gums of a patient's oral cavity. The device further comprises a holder portion, the holder portion comprising a frame, the frame being configured to clamp over the teeth about a region of the patient's oral cavity such that, when fitted to the patient's oral cavity, at least a part of the holder portion is configured to be held between the patient's teeth when the patient bites their jaws together, the holder portion also gripping at least part of the body. Methods of delivering medicament to at least a portion of the gums of a patient in need thereof using the above device are also described.
ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE IRRIGATOR APPARATUS AND METHOD
An electrical discharge irrigation device and method is described. An electrical discharge irrigation device includes a power source, a circuit coupled to the power source, and an output tip coupled to the circuit. The output tip includes a first end and a second end and a longitudinal axis extending between them, an electrode located in an interior space of the output tip configured to receive an electrical charge from the circuit and to release an electric discharge, and a ground return including an inner surface of the output tip, wherein a space between the electrode and the ground return comprises a conductive medium, the conductive medium being in contact with the electrode and the ground return to produce the electric discharge.
Method and system for oral PH change
A new method and a system for increasing the pH of a composition applied on teeth and/or gums. The composition is gelable under the influence of a pH change. The device includes a dispensing unit for the composition, a distal end of which is adapted to apply the composition onto teeth or gums. The device further includes an electrode system having first and second electrodes, the first electrode adapted to be held against the composition at a location at or near teeth or gums, and the second electrode adapted to be held against the composition at a location away from teeth or gums. The electrode system is adapted so as to provide an electrical potential difference of 1.5 to 10 Volt between the first and second electrodes.
Laser-assisted periodontics
There is a need for a minimally invasive surgical treatment method for periodontitis for the removal of deep pockets, elimination of disease, creation of reattachment of the gingiva to the tooth surface and true regeneration of the attachment apparatus (new cementum, new periodontal ligament, and new alveolar bone) on a previously diseased root surface. The PerioLase® MVP-7™ including eGUI or another device capable of laser dosimetry, such as an original MVP-7™ type laser without the eGUI, achieves this with the LANAP protocol (laser-assisted new attachment procedure) and the LENAP protocol (laser excisional new attachment procedure).
Cartridge for storing, discharging and applying a dental compound
The invention relates to a cartridge for storing, discharging and applying a dental compound, in particular a paste for preparing and drying the gingival sulcus (sulcus gingivae) during dental impression taking. The invention relates to a cartridge (1) for storing, discharging and applying a dental compound, comprising a container (2), which has a hollow chamber (4) for accommodating the dental compound, and a cannula (3). The hollow chamber (4) comprises an outlet opening (5) and an actuator opening (6) opposite the outlet opening (5), and the cannula (3) is fluid-connected to the outlet opening (5), is arranged on the container (2) and is straight in the starting state. The cartridge is characterised in that the cannula (3) is made of plastic and is plastically deformable under standard conditions with the application of manual force in such a manner that a permanent bend by an angle of at least up to 65° in comparison with the starting state can be achieved without buckling the cannula (3).
Oral appliance in a blockchain system
A method of reducing counterfeit medicaments or reducing medicament abuse is provided, the method comprising making an oral appliance for delivering a medicament to teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside an oral cavity, the oral appliance comprising an interior surface having a medicament disposed in or on at least a portion of and/or all of the interior surface of the oral appliance, the interior surface being formed to fit contours of at least the portion of the teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside the oral cavity and being configured for holding the medicament in contact with at least the portion of the teeth and/or soft tissue areas inside the oral cavity to deliver the medicament thereto. In some embodiments, the oral appliance is used in a blockchain system.
ORAL HYGIENE DEVICES CONFIGURED FOR USE WITH ORTHODONTICS
This application relates to oral hygiene and/teeth cleaning devices and associated methods configured for use with users having orthodontics such as braces. The devices can be configured to have a shape that allows all or substantially all of a user's teeth to be cleaned at once. In some embodiments, the devices are configured to be useable, for example, without access to water or a bathroom. The devices can be used to freshen up and clean the user's mouth on-the-go. In some embodiments, the devices are disposable.
