A first system for determining the relative health of a chick having a first moving platform to support a chick, a first image capture device, a first database having a library of digital images relating to healthy and unhealthy chicks and a computer processor in communication with the image capture device and database. A second system for determining the gender of a chick includes a second moving platform, a second image capture device, stimuli directed at the chick to cause the chick to open its wings. The second system also includes a second database having wing patterns of male and female chicks of the breed of the chick on the second moving platform and a second computer processor in communication with the second image capture device and the second database.
AUTOMATIC SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING A SUBSTANCE TO AN ANIMAL
A system and method for automatically delivering a substance to an animal including a positioning system that positions each animal singularly, a sensor that detects the location of a predetermined targeted area on the animal and an image processor. The system further includes a delivery device having a plurality of delivery outlets for delivering a substance to the targeted area. The sensor, image processor and delivery device are in communication with a computer processor. The sensor activates the image processor which takes at least one image of the animal positioned singularly. The image is communicated to the computer processor and analyzed. The computer processor activates the delivery outlet proximate the predetermined target area on the animal which delivers an effective dosage of substance to the predetermined targeted area.
INJECTION PISTOL FOR ANIMAL TREATMENT WITH IDENTIFICATION ASSISTANT
An injecting gun for the treatment of animals with identification aid with a push button on the handle comprising a body formed by two main housings linked by their edges with delimitate the free space, in which there is an electronic card consisting of: a CPU (Central Processing Unit) which is connected by means of: a) UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) modules with: i) a RFID UHF module, and ii) a Bluetooth module; b) GPIO (General Purpose input/Output) modules with: iii) a plurality of LEDs (Light Emitting Diode), iv) a vibrator, vi) a buzzer vii) a syringe sensor, viii) two touch switches, and ix) a TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) liquid crystal parallel port; c) a USB module (Universal Serial Bus) with: x) a micro USB plug (micro USB); wherein, said CPU is connected to a memory; and wherein said CPU is connected to an energy source, which is connected to a charger and energy manager.
Method for the preparation of a vaccinating agent
A method for preparing a vaccine for immunization against the disease Porcine Circovirus Disease and/or Enzootic Pneumonia in pigs in which a first container is only partly filled with a first vaccine and a second container is filled with a second vaccine, the second vaccine being transferred into the first container through an adapter device, when a closure device is penetrated for the first and/or only time, and the vaccinating agent is prepared therein, thus making the operation simple, less error-prone and more hygienic, while reducing the materials required.
Multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platform
Embodiments of the invention provide multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platforms and methods for the subcutaneous delivery of therapeutic agents (TA). Embodiments of the platform may be configured to subcutaneously deliver a first dose of a first TA which is absorbed into the body and/or blood stream (BBS) to produce a first therapeutic effect for a first selectable time period (STP), and subsequently after a second STP, deliver a second dose of a second TA which is absorbed into the BBS to produce a second therapeutic effect for a third STP. An embodiment of the platform may comprise a body having a tissue-penetrating end, a primary cavity having a first TA dose and a shell having a secondary cavity having a second TA dose. The first TA dose is released after the first STP and the second TA dose is released after the second STP by biodegradation of the shell.
Vaccine delivery devices
This document provides vaccine delivery devices and methods for vaccinating an animal (e.g., a mammal). For example, vaccine delivery devices that include a container having one or more openings, a vaccine depot located within the container, and a diffusion barrier located within the container in a manner such that material (e.g., an antigenic vaccine component) within the vaccine depot must pass through the diffusion barrier before reaching one of the openings are provided.
BOTTLE HOLDER FOR A SYRINGE
A bottle holder for a syringe includes a stop surface, a piercing hollow spike protruding beyond the stop surface, a guideway, and a first and a second clamping element. Each clamping element includes a through-hole and is moveable back and forth between an insertion position and a clamping position. When the clamping elements are in the insertion position, a neck of the bottle can be moved through the through-holes until the front end of the bottle abuts against the stop surface such that the piercing hollow spike pierces a film at the front end of the bottle. At least one of the clamping elements in its clamping position presses against the neck of the bottle in order to clamp the bottle in the holder.
BIRD VACCINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING AT LEAST ONE ACTUATOR OF A BIRD VACCINATION SYSTEM
A bird vaccination system for vaccination of a bird while the bird is retained on a conveying mechanism and transported by the conveying mechanism along a first direction. The bird vaccination system comprises a fluid discharge device comprising a fluid discharge opening operative to discharge at least one vaccination fluid to the bird, at least one actuator operative to effect a displacement of at least the fluid discharge opening, at least one control circuit operative to control the at least one actuator, and a data acquisition device operative to capture image data of the bird retained on the conveying mechanism. The at least one control circuit is operative to control the at least one actuator to adjust a position of the fluid discharge opening relative to the bird based on the image data for performing the vaccination while the bird is being moved by the conveying mechanism.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR A SINGLE SENSOR ACTION PLATE
A vaccination device can be used to vaccinate day-old chicks. To vaccinate the day-old chicks safely while ensuring vaccination efficacy, the vaccination device can include a vaccination needle configured to extend from the vaccination device at a vaccination delivery location and an action plate. The action plate can be coupled to the vaccination device such that the action plate is positioned next to the vaccination delivery location. The action plate can include an action button, wherein the action button is configured to receive a day-old chick presented to the action plate in a predetermined loading position, receive a press of the action button, and in response to pressing the action button, cause the vaccination needle to extend from the vaccination device at the vaccination delivery location to deliver a subcutaneous injection to the day-old chick.
