Multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platform
Embodiments of the invention provide multi-stage biodegradable drug delivery platforms and methods for the subcutaneous delivery of therapeutic agents (TA). Embodiments of the platform may be configured to subcutaneously deliver a first dose of a first TA which is absorbed into the body and/or blood stream (BBS) to produce a first therapeutic effect for a first selectable time period (STP), and subsequently after a second STP, deliver a second dose of a second TA which is absorbed into the BBS to produce a second therapeutic effect for a third STP. An embodiment of the platform may comprise a body having a tissue-penetrating end, a primary cavity having a first TA dose and a shell having a secondary cavity having a second TA dose. The first TA dose is released after the first STP and the second TA dose is released after the second STP by biodegradation of the shell.
Automated caged bird spray applicator system
The disclosure relates to a spray applicator system for accurately and precisely dosing liquid formulations, including vaccines and probiotic formulations, to caged avian animals. In particular, the disclosure relates to spray applicators, having improved acceptance by the avian animals, relative to more disruptive prior spray applicators. The disclosed automated caged spray applicator system is designed to attach to and function with automated poultry feeding systems, routinely used in poultry house settings.
HOLDER FOR COMBINATION INJECTOR AND SPRAY DEVICE
A holder for a medicament administration device can include a base member, a movable member disposed on the base member such that the movable member can move relative to the base member between a first position and a second position, and two or more clamp members. Each clamp member can be coupled to the base member and to the movable member, and can be pivotable between a closed position corresponding with the first position of the movable member and an open position corresponding with the second position of the movable member. When in the closed position the clamp members can engage the head of a subject to restrain the subject against movement relative to the holder.
SOFT GEL DELIVERY METHOD FOR TREATING POULTRY
The present invention is directed to a method of treating poultry hatchlings in a hatchling tray. The method comprises of providing a soft gel form capable of being dispensed through a spray nozzle, providing a spray dispensing apparatus, the apparatus being capable of delivering a predetermined volume of the gel as a plurality of small beadlets through a plurality of nozzles, placing the hatchling tray containing the hatchlings beneath the nozzles of the dispensing apparatus, dispensing the predetermined volume of the soft gel containing the therapeutic agent as small beadlets into the hatchling tray and allowing the hatchlings to consume the beadlets. The present invention is also directed to a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a therapeutic agent in a soft gel into a hatchling tray of poultry hatchlings.
CONTAINER SYSTEM AND METHOD
A container system having at least two containers, wherein the container system comprises a light member which is configured to provide information through the emission of light, wherein the container system is configured to provide or trigger the light member to provide the information through the emission of light when a step related to preparing a mixture of contents of the containers is performed. In particular, triggering occurs when the containers are separated from one another and/or when a fluidic connection is created between the containers.
NEEDLELESS SYRINGE AND METHOD FOR INTRODUCING DNA INTO INJECTION TARGET AREA USING SAME
A needleless injector which can selectively induce the immune response and a method for introducing DNA including a region coding for an antigen to selectively produce an antibody in a living body of a mammal by using the needleless injector are provided. Disclosed is a needleless injector for injecting a DNA solution into an injection target area without using any injection needle. The needleless injector includes an accommodating unit which accommodates the DNA solution, a predetermined ignition device and a predetermined nozzle unit. A temperature of the predetermined combustion product, which is provided during the pressurization, changes to a neighborhood of ordinary temperature within 20 msec after a pressure, which is applied to the DNA solution on account of the combustion of the igniter powder, reaches an initial peak discharge force during a pressurization process for discharging the DNA solution.
Applicators
Disclosed is an applicator comprising or including, a dosing body including, at least one barrel; a piston moveable within the at least one barrel to stroke between a variable first position and a second position. In use, movement of the piston towards the first position can draw a first fluid into the barrel, and movement of the piston towards the second position can force the first fluid out of the barrel. There is at least one fluid inlet valve to allow the fluid to flow into the at least one barrel at least under action of the piston, and at least one fluid outlet valve to allow the first fluid to flow out of the at least one barrel at least under action of the piston. A piston actuating assembly, selectively engageable with the dosing body, is present, the piston actuator assembly having a user operable handle to drive a second actuation member which in turn can drive the piston between the first position and the second position, the connection between the second actuation member, or part thereof being a releasable one.
Vaccination Kiosk
A vaccination kiosk having an interactive touch screen display allows a user to select one or more vaccines, medications, and/or pet care products to be dispensed and administered to a user-identified pet species. The vaccination kiosk further comprises a refrigerated housing or other product housing for storing the vaccines, medications, and/or pet care products, a magnetic card reader or similar payment reader for accepting and verifying payment for the vaccines, a dispensing means for dispensing selected vaccines, medications, and/or pet care products, a jet injector or similar vaccinating means for administering the vaccines, and a powering means to power the vaccination kiosk. In other implementations, a method for dispensing vaccines from a kiosk may comprise receiving profile information from a user relating to a species to be vaccinated, providing the user with a list of vaccines available in the kiosk for the selected species, receiving a request from a user for at least one vaccine based on the list of vaccines available, receiving payment from the user through a magnetic card reader or similar payment system, authorizing the payment, and dispensing one or more vaccines from said kiosk for on-site administration of vaccines to the selected species. In another implementation, a method of dispensing pet care products form a kiosk may comprise receiving profile information from a user relating to a pet species, providing inventory information relating to pet care products available in the kiosk for a selected species, receiving a request from the user for at least one pet care product, receiving payment information through a payment reading system, authorizing the payment information, and dispensing the pet care product from the kiosk.
PORTABLE AUTOMATIC VETERINARY INJECTOR DEVICE
An injector device for veterinary use, such as to inject vaccine into the chicken breast muscle. The device includes a finger-held unit connected to a vaccine pumping main unit using a flexible conduit. The operator can quickly start an injection by stroking alongside the breast edge of a grasped chicken, using his fingertips to touch and select the muscle, then start an injection by pressing the finger-held unit against the chicken breast in a designated way. The electric buttons in the finger-held unit may activate a process that actuates a mechanism to inject a hypodermic needle into the chicken's muscle, the pumping system may-then be actuated to pump the vaccine into the muscle through the injected needle.
TAIL VEIN INJECTION SYSTEM, TAIL VEIN INJECTION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM
