ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION DEVICE
It refers to an artificial insemination device which comprises a tube and a tip engageable at one end of said tube, the tip being formed by a hollow tubular body with a semi-spherical upper end provided with at least three orifices; the tip internally comprises at least a first frustoconical portion tapering towards the upper end for insertion of a first vane containing biological material to be inseminated, followed by a first annular portion for coupling this vane, a second frustoconical portion tapering toward the upper end, arranged next to the first annular portion for insertion of a second vane containing biological material having a smaller diameter than the first vane, a second annular portion, arranged after the second additional frustoconical portion, for coupling with the second vane smaller than the first one, and a niche in the region of the upper semi-spherical end where the at least three orifices are arranged.
Bodily Fluid Transporting Unit
A bodily fluid transporting unit that includes a container with a syringe housing and a refrigerant pack in the container. The container is covered by a lid and the engagement of the container and the lid results in an air-tight and moisture-tight bodily fluid transporting unit.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR ACCESSING AND SEALING BODILY VESSELS AND CAVITIES
Everting balloon systems and methods for using the same are disclosed herein. The systems can be configured to access and dilate body lumen and cavities. For example, the systems can be used to dilate the cervix and access the uterine cavity. The systems can also be used to occlude the cervix. The systems can also be used to occlude the urethra.
Sanitary sheath for a syringe for insemination by straw and its method of manufacture
The sheath (30) comprises a tube (31) and an end piece (32) that comprises a foot (33) introduced into an end portion of the tube (31), and a head (34) arranged in the extension of the tube (31). The foot (33) comprises, on the outer surface (40) thereof, a plurality of annular ribs (41-44) facing the inner surface (45) of the tube (31). The head (34) comprises a shoulder (38) facing the section (39) of the tube (31), projecting over the root of the foot (33). The end piece (32) and the tube (31) are attached to the periphery of at least one of said annular ribs exclusively by intrinsic welding. The method comprises the step of carrying out a peripheral tightening of the outer surface (37) of the tube on a level with the ribs (41-44), and the step of applying a sonotrode to the outer surface (35-36) of the head (34).
ANTIBODY FOR DETERMINING SEX OF SPERM, AND USE THEREOF
Provided are an antibody for sexing sperms and use thereof, and more particularly, a composition for and a method of sexing sperms by using the antibody, and a method of producing an animal of a particular sex. In the present disclosure, it was confirmed that agglutination of Y chromosome sperms may be induced by treatment of the antibody, thereby easily sorting X chromosome sperms and Y chromosome sperms. Therefore, it is possible to produce a large number of customized animals of a particular sex and to selectively produce livestock of a desired sex, and therefore, it is expected to contribute to planed breeding, breeding improvement, and efficient management.
Methods for use of sex sorted semen to improve genetic management in swine
The invention relates to methods of increasing genetic merit of swine by establishing a plurality of mating subtypes for a line of swine, and determining a percentage of progeny that are male for each of the mating subtypes, or a percentage of progeny that are female for each of the mating subtypes, that would result, relative to a control, in an increase in genetic merit in the line; the invention further relates to sorting a sperm cell sample from a male swine in one of the mating subtypes into one or more subpopulations of sperm cells, wherein a majority of sperm cells in a subpopulation of sperm cells bear X chromosomes or Y chromosomes, and inseminating one or more female swine in the one of the mating subtypes with the subpopulation of sperm cells to achieve the percentage of progeny that are male, or the percentage of progeny that are female, determined to increase genetic merit relative to the control.

BODILY FLUID COLLECTION SYSTEM
Bodily fluid collection systems are described where the system may be used for collecting and transferring sperm into a syringe. The syringe is configured to have a distal collection tip which is gently tapered or radiused to present a smooth and atraumatic surface and which is specifically configured and shaped to be inserted within and received by the collection receptacle. The distal collection tip has a shape which corresponds directly to a tapered reservoir defined at the bottom of the collection receptacle such that a distal opening defined through the tip is optimally positioned within the concentrated bodily fluid pooled within the reservoir for collection. Moreover, the gentle taper of the collection tip may present an atraumatic surface for inhibiting damage to the sperm contained within the ejaculate as the sperm is suctioned into the distal opening for insemination into the female.
Straw for the preservation of a predetermined dose of liquid-based substance, as well as a method and injection device that employ it
The straw comprises a tube (11) and a stopper (12) fixed relative to the tube (11) and comprising a male connector tip (29) configured in order that a syringe needle (44) having a female connector tip (45) with a frusto-conical internal surface in accordance with a standard can be connected to said stopper (12) by engagement of the female connector tip (45) of the needle on the male connector tip (29) of the stopper (12).
The injection device comprises such a straw (10) and a syringe needle (44).
The method of emptying the straw comprises the step of pushing the dose of liquid-based substance (21) packaged in the straw (10) towards the stopper (12).
