Dry reforming catalyst using metal oxide support, and method for preparing synthetic gas by using same
The present invention relates to a dry reforming catalyst in which an active material is impregnated on the surface of a metal oxide support and the active material is surrounded by a surfactant, a method of preparing the same, and a method of producing a synthetic gas using the catalyst. Since the surfactant on the surface of the active material prevents the active material from being sintered and the active material surface from being covered with carbon, the dry reforming catalyst exhibits high activity at high temperature for a long period of time without having to use a precious metal, and thus is useful for the production of a synthetic gas.
HYDROGEN SUPPLY SYSTEM
Provided is a hydrogen supply system that supplies hydrogen. The hydrogen supply system includes: a dehydrogenation reaction unit that subjects a raw material including a hydride to a dehydrogenation reaction to obtain a hydrogen-containing gas; a hydrogen purification unit that removes a dehydrogenation product from the hydrogen-containing gas obtained in the dehydrogenation reaction unit to obtain a purified gas including high-purity hydrogen; and a degassing unit that removes an inorganic gas contained in the raw material on an upstream side of the dehydrogenation reaction unit in a flow of the raw material.
METHODS FOR CONVERSION OF METHANE TO SYNGAS
Methods and systems for converting methane to syngas are provided. Certain exemplary methods and systems involve reacting methane and carbon dioxide with a nickel oxide catalyst in a reaction chamber, thereby providing syngas and a reduced nickel species. The reduced nickel species can be regenerated by oxidation with air in a regeneration chamber, thereby generating a regenerated nickel oxide and heat. The regenerated nickel oxide and heat can be returned to the reaction chamber to drive the syngas reaction.
Reactor-Separator Elements
Reactor/separator elements for performing the generation and/or separation of hydrogen gas with improved efficiency have a central core and a separation layer that, in combination, define at least one spiral gas flow channel extending from one end of the central core to the opposite end of the central core. In use, the reactor/separator element may be placed in a housing which constrains gas on the outside of the reactor/separator element into the spiral channel defined by the outside of the separation layer.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH-EFFICIENCY METHANOL CAPABLE OF REDUCING EMISSION OF CARBON DIOXIDE
A method for producing high-efficiency methanol capable of reducing emission of carbon dioxide. The method includes: a first step of preparing mixed gas by using steam and natural gas as raw materials and converting C.sub.2+ hydrocarbon contained in the natural gas into methane on a catalyst; a second step of preparing a synthesis gas including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and hydrogen by reforming the mixed gas in a reformer filled with a reforming catalyst; and a third step of preparing methanol by using the synthesis gas as the raw material and reacting the synthesis gas.
Catalytic decomposition of hydrocarbons for the production of hydrogen and carbon
A new process for the decomposition of hydrocarbon feed stream(s) that achieves the conversion of a hydrocarbon feed stream to hydrogen and filamentous carbon, with minimal resulting production of carbon oxides is described herein. In this invention it is proposed to achieve the hydrocarbon conversion by the use of dual fluidized bed reaction zones, fluidly connected, for (i). hydrocarbon reaction (the reactor) and (ii). catalyst regeneration and heating (the regenerator) and to use a transition metal supported catalyst to achieve high hydrocarbon conversion and to produce high quality filamentous carbon.
Steam-Hydrocarbon Reforming Reactor
Steam-hydrocarbon reforming reactor with a reformer tube containing ceramic-supported catalyst pellets and metal foam particles. The ceramic-supported catalyst pellets have a porous support comprising one or more of alumina, calcium aluminate, and magnesium aluminate. The metal foam particles comprise Fe and/or Ni. The ceramic-supported catalyst pellets and metal foam particles may be layered or interspersed.
PROCESS FOR GENERATING A PURIFIED HYDROGEN PRODUCT FROM HEAVY HYDROCARBON FEEDSTOCKS
A process for producing a purified hydrogen product without a pre-reformer or pre-reforming catalyst in a fired, tubular reformer where the feed stream having a carbon (i.e., C.sub.2+) molar composition greater than or equal to five percent and is mixed with a steam stream to yield a reformer feed stream with a steam-to-carbon ratio less than or equal to three. The reformer tubes contain a nickel-based catalyst without alkali promotion.
Hydrogen generator with a supplementary air flow rate adjustor for a combustor
A hydrogen generator includes: a reformer configured to generate a hydrogen-containing gas by a reforming reaction of a material gas; a combustor configured to heat the reformer by diffusion combustion of the material gas and combustion air; a supplementary air flow rate adjuster configured to adjust the flow rate of supplementary air added to the material gas; and a controller configured to control the supplementary air flow rate adjuster such that the flow rate of a mixture gas of the material gas and the supplementary air becomes a predetermined value.
Integrated reformer and syngas separator
A reformer assembly for a fuel cell includes a vortex tube receiving heated fuel mixed with steam. A catalyst coats the inner wall of the main tube of the vortex tube and a hydrogen-permeable tube is positioned in the middle of the main tube coaxially with the main tube.
