Vaginal dilator/manipulator
A dilator/manipulator for use in treating pelvic organ prolapse, including a support member having a proximal end, a distal end, and an adjustable width, and a handle extending upwardly at an angle from the support member. Also included are methods for surgically correcting pelvic organ prolapse with the use of such a dilator/manipulator.
INCONTINENCE GARMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
An incontinence undergarment for adult men. The interior of the undergarment is lined and includes an elastic waistband and elastic leg openings. The undergarment also includes a hook and loop closure strip in the crotch area to enable easy urination without requiring complete removal of the garment. Along the sides of the closure strip are reinforcements, where the interior of the closure strip and the reinforcement sections are lined with plastic to prevent leakage. The undergarment may be available in various sizes, including S, M, L, and XL. It may also be available in a variety of color options.
Incontinency abatement system
A body having first and second segments is shaped to include distal and proximal and intermediate portions. The segments are hollow to form a chamber. A hinge pin in the proximal portion rotatably couples the segments. A spring within the chamber urges the segments to an open orientation. A locking assembly within the chamber selectively holds the segments in the open orientation and selectively holds the segments in the closed orientation.
Rectal catheter configured for pediatric care
A rectal catheter is configured for improved pediatric care. The catheter includes a member that terminates into a rounded tip, a plug mounted about the member, the plug being made of a moldable material, a balloon mounted about the member between the rounded tip and the plug, a conduit that fluidly communicates with the balloon and that extends from the member to enable a pressure source to be operatively connected to the balloon to inflate the balloon, and a pressure relief valve operatively connected to the conduit, the pressure relief valve being configured to open the conduit to atmosphere pressure in response to a pressure in the conduit reaching a predetermined pressure. The predetermined pressure is selected to attenuate significantly risk of bowel perforation in pediatric patients.
Systems and methods for incontinence control
A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, an adhesive carried on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a substance carried by at least one of the body and the adhesive and configured for controlling the odor of the general vaginal-urethral area of a female.
Intra-Vaginal Devices And Methods For Treating Fecal Incontinence
Devices and methods for intra-vaginal bowel control.
Incontinence System
Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may provide an incontinence pad that includes projection, such as a raised ridge, or a short length projection, that extends from a pad base of and effects application of a force against the urethra of a user (the force, typically upward, that may result from sitting by the user and/or tight fitting shorts and/or pulling a cord attached to the projection); the projection may act to transfer a force from the projection to the urethra. This force may partially or entirely obstruct flow of urine through, or out of the urethra, that might occur otherwise (i.e., without the projection). Another example of the many independent aspects of the inventive technology relates to the provision, as part of an incontinence pad, of a cord that is attached to part of the pad, such as (in only certain embodiments) the aforementioned upward projection.
Intra-vaginal devices and methods for treating fecal incontinence
Devices and methods for intra-vaginal bowel control.
Materials and methods for securing bodily implants
In one embodiment, a medical device includes a resorbable material that is configured to be disposed within the body of the patient proximate a bodily implant. The resorbable material is configured to frictionally retain the implant in place within the body of the patient for at least a period of time. In one embodiment, a kit includes an implant and a resorbable material. The implant is configured to be disposed within a body of a patient. The resorbable material is configured to be disposed within the body of the patient proximate the implant to frictionally retain the implant in place within the body of the patient for a period of time. The resorbable material is configured to be resorbed by the body after the period of time.
Urinary incontinence device
A urinary incontinence device for insertion in a urethra of a user. The device includes a non-absorbent body having an outer surface, the body having a leading end and a trailing end; a removal mechanism having a first end attached to the body and a portion of the removal mechanism located outside the user; a portion of the body having a generally bulbous shape for positioning within the urethra and providing a seal within the urethra preventing urinary leakage from the urethra; and a coating applied to the outer surface of the body for engaging a wall of the urethra and securing the device within the urethra of the user. Another embodiment relates to a method of controlling urinary incontinence comprising: engaging an applicator with the body of the device and introducing into the urethra the device wherein the device is positioned in the user's bulbar urethra.
