FINGER-SPLINTING SHEATH DEVICE & METHOD
A finger-splinting sheath device is provided for use as a self-treatment aid in assisting a bowel in a patient suffering from complications of pelvic organ prolapse, namely rectocele. The finger-splinting sheath device generally includes a monolithic molded body including a flange-element, and a sheath-element having a proximal end and a distal end, wherein the sheath-element is coupled to the flange-element at the proximal end and is closed at the distal end. The sheath-element generally includes an elliptical cross-section configured to receive two-fingers therein, wherein the sheath-element functions to splint the two fingers during use. A method for using the device includes inserting the device with two fingers within the sheath-element into the vagina and applying pressure to the vaginal walls to assist a bowel movement.
Intra-Vaginal Devices and Methods for Treating Fecal Incontinence
Devices and methods for intra-vaginal bowel control.
DRUG OUTFLOW PREVENTING DEVICE
A drug outflow preventing device is provided. A drug outflow preventing device according to an embodiment of the present invention is a drug outflow preventing device into which a penis of a patient is inserted, and the drug outflow preventing device includes an opening that is formed extended from a portion where a glans of the patient is located.
Systems and methods for incontinence control
A system for managing female incontinence includes a body of biocompatible material configured to fit between the labia minora and the vestibule floor, the body having a surface configured to occlude the urethral meatus, a first adhesive layer disposed on at least a first portion of the surface and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, and a second adhesive layer disposed over the first adhesive layer and configured to provide a sealing engagement between the body and the urethral meatus, wherein the second adhesive layer is removable from the first adhesive layer.
SYSTEM FOR TREATING A PATIENT HAVING AN INTESTINAL DISORDER
The present invention relates to a surgical method of treating a patient. The method involves cutting the patient’s skin and abdominal wall, dissecting an area of the patient’s intestine, cutting the patient’s intestine so as to form an intestinal wall of a reservoir, implanting at least a pump as part of a flow control device so as to permanently reside inside the patient’s body and to act on said intestinal wall so as to reduce the reservoir’s volume in order to empty intestinal contents from the reservoir to outside the patient’s body, and thereafter, permanently closing the abdominal wall and skin.
TREATMENT FOR VESICOVAGINAL FISTULA
The present invention relates to methods and compositions for the treatment of vesicovaginal fistula. It is based, at least in part, on the discovery that a menstrual cup may be used to collect urine and decrease or prevent urine leakage in certain women having vesicovaginal fistula and, in some cases, the menstrual cup was observed to at least partially occlude the fistula and permit normal micturition.
Urological device including a valve retained in a urinary catheter
A urological device includes a valve retained in a urinary catheter. The urinary catheter has a first portion that is insertable into a urethra and a second portion adapted to remain outside of the urethra when the first portion is inserted into the urethra. The valve has a closed configuration adapted to prevent urine from exiting the urinary catheter and an open configuration adapted to allow urine to flow through and exit the urinary catheter. The valve is adapted to move from the closed configuration to the open configuration in response to a hydrodynamic pressure of at least 750 mm H2O applied to the valve for at least 5 seconds.
Lid for an ostomy implant
A lid for an ostomy implant is provided. A base includes an attachment means for attachment to the implant and a sliding part. The sliding part is arranged such that when the sliding part is slid along a first sliding route, the sliding part causes the lid to be attachable to or detachable from the implant, and when the sliding part is slid along a second sliding route, the sliding part causes the lid to open, for evacuating a stoma to which the ostomy implant is connected, and closed, for preventing leaks from the stoma, while the lid remains attached to the implant.
Method for controlling flow of sperms in a uterine tube
There is provided a method for controlling a flow of sperms in a uterine tube of a female patient. The method comprises electrically stimulating a uterine tube wall portion by controlling an implanted stimulation device from at least one of an external control unit and an internal control unit, wherein the electrically stimulating causes contraction of the uterine tube wall portion along a length of the portion to restrict the flow of sperms in the uterine tube.
FECAL MANAGEMENT APPLICATOR AND ASSEMBLY
A fecal management applicator, a fecal management assembly, and a fecal management method are described herein. A fecal management applicator may include a handle portion, and a head portion extending from the handle portion. The head portion may include an inner head wall portion that extends axially from the handle portion and an outer head wall portion that extends radially outwardly from the inner head wall portion and curves over the inner head wall portion. The fecal management applicator may define a channel that extends continuously through the handle portion and the head portion along an entire axial length of the fecal management applicator.
