Methods and systems for performing a medical procedure

Method and system for treating a patient using a compressible, pressure-attenuating device. According to one embodiment, the system is used to treat urinary tract disorders and comprises an access device, a delivery device, a pressure-attenuating device, and a removal device. The access device may be used to create a passageway to an anatomical structure, such as the patient's bladder. The delivery device may be inserted through the passageway created by the access device and may be used to deliver the pressure-attenuating device to the anatomical structure. The removal device may be inserted through the passageway created by the access device and may be used to view the bladder and/or to capture, to deflate and to remove the pressure-attenuating device.

An apparatus for controlling a flow of sperms in a uterine tube formed by a uterine tube wall of a patient's uterine tube comprises an implantable constriction device for gently constricting (i.e. without substantially hampering the blood circulation in the uterine tube wall) at least one portion of the uterine tube wall to influence the flow in the uterine tube, and a stimulation device for stimulating the wall portion of the uterine tube wall. A control device controls the stimulation device to stimulate the wall portion, as the constriction device constricts the wall portion, to cause contraction of the wall portion constricted by the constriction device to further influence the flow in the uterine tube. The apparatus can be used for restricting or stopping the flow in the uterine tube, or for actively moving the fluid in the uterine tube, with a low risk of injuring the uterine tube.

Embodiments are utilized to provide a pelvic floor muscle supporting aid that not only supports the pelvic floor muscles but also is effective for preventing a pelvic organ prolapse. An annular part provided so as to be situated at a position corresponding to an outer peripheral portion of the vaginal opening is pulled by a pulling part, so that an interval between left and right side portions situated on the left and right of the vaginal opening is narrowed. Consequently, not only force to press up the pelvic floor muscles from under is applied but also the vaginal opening is narrowed. Consequently, the pelvic organs do not easily slip out. Therefore, it is possible to prevent urinary incontinence and the like by supporting the pelvic floor muscles and at the same time prevent a pelvic organ prolapse.
