Method of fixating an implantable material in a patient

A method of fixating an implantable material in a patient includes forming an incision in the patient. The method includes inserting an anchor into a bore of a cannula, with the anchor attached to a support by a suture that is looped through an eyelet of the anchor and engaged through the support. The method includes inserting the cannula into the incision and along a cannula path into soft tissue, and ejecting the anchor out of the bore of the cannula and into the soft tissue. The suture is pulled in a direction away from the patient, moving the anchor to position a length of the anchor transverse to the cannula path. The method includes tying a knot in the suture, driving the knot against the support, and fixating the support in the patient.

Method of treating urinary incontinence

A method of treating urinary incontinence in a patient includes forming one and only one incision in the patient and implanting a base of a support by placing an anchor into tissue of an obturator foramen. The anchor is attached to the base of the support by a continuous suture loop that is looped through an eyelet of the anchor and engaged through the base of the support. The method includes breaking the continuous suture loop, tying a knot in the suture, and fixating the base of the support in the patient. An arm of the support is implanted by placing a second anchor into periosteum tissue lateral to a pubic symphysis with a second continuous suture loop looped through an eyelet of the second anchor and engaged through the arm of the support.

SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING AN IMPLANTABLE DEVICE ON THE BASIS OF COMMANDS ISSUED BY A USER
20180193130 · 2018-07-12 ·

The invention relates to a system for controlling a device implanted in a human or animal body on the basis of voluntary commands issued by a user without the use of any external peripheral. The user issues a voluntary command to the implanted device by applying a specific and predetermined code, consisting of at least one mechanical action and of at least one additional piece of information. Each mechanical action and each additional piece of information are measured by at least one sensor. The output signal(s) of the sensor(s) are processed and used to validate the predetermined code by means of the identification of at least one mechanical action executed by the user and combined with at least one piece of additional information, and the comparison thereof with a corresponding reference model. The invention further relates to a method for detecting an actuation control of an implantable device.

Pelvic implant and therapeutic agent system and method

Various embodiments of a mesh or implant system are provided for treating pelvic conditions such as incontinence, vaginal prolapsed, and other conditions caused by muscle and ligament weakness. Embodiments of the implants can include a material, substrate, configuration or coating adapted to provide immediate or timed release of various therapeutic agents or drugs to treat the surrounding tissue.

Male incontinence control device and method of controlling male incontinence

A male incontinence control device with a main elastomeric tubular body, a knob to occlude the urethra, and a feature in the tubular body to accept a spacing device/insert. The length of the spacer will define the minimum internal circumference of the main tube to optimize comfort and performance. There may be multiple sizes of spacers or adjustable spacers, in addition to attachable or adjustable knob embodiments. Removal features are designed to minimize body contact for increased comfort and performance.
