WARP-KNITTED FABRIC AND MEDICAL MATERIAL
The present invention provides a warp-knitted fabric and a medical material that can be simultaneously extended in all directions by causing thread made of a second bioabsorbable material to be absorbed in a living body over time and in which the degree of extension can be increased. The present invention provides a warp-knitted fabric 10 in which adjacent loop rows are linked, the warp-knitted fabric 10 including: a plurality of first loop rows including a first thread and composed of continuous loops extending in the warp direction; and one or two or more second loop rows disposed between the first loop rows and composed of continuous loops extending in the warp direction, wherein each second loop row is formed of one or two or more loops solely including a second thread and one or two or more loops including the first thread, which are arranged alternately, at least three first loop rows are linked together by the first thread, and the bioabsorption rate of the first thread is lower than the bioabsorption rate of the second thread.
DIVERSIFIED GRAFTS HAVING HETEROGENOUS FEATURES AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING SAME
Diversified grafts suitable for use in repair and reconstruction procedures are provided. Some diversified grafts comprise two or more heterogenous features which form regions having different preferred properties. A diversified graft useful for pre-pectoral breast reconstruction, meshing is provided on an upper pole of the diversified graft and a plurality of slits arranged in particular patterns is provided on a lower pole of the graft, whereby the upper pole has a greater expansion ability and the lower pole has lesser degree of expansion ability but maintains greater load bearing capacity which is necessary to support the lower pole of the breast undergoing reconstruction, while allowing for fluid egress. In other embodiments, the diversified graft comprises two or more components which are combined by attaching them to each other to form a larger graft of the required size. The components may be smaller pieces of the same material or different materials.
Surgical attachment device
A hybrid medical device that can aid in reconstructive or augmentative surgery of the breast is disclosed. The device can utilize a suitable biological collagen tissue matrix combined with a synthetic material, for example, that can impart a high initial strength to the repair site while permitting proper healing and revitalization of the implanted device.
Method for forming a base knit suitable for manufacturing hernia prostheses and hernia prostheses obtained therefrom
The invention relates to a method for forming a prosthetic base knit (1) made of two parallel sheets of porous knits, namely a first sheet (2) of porous knit and a second sheet of porous knit, said two parallel sheets being joined together in a discrete manner by a plurality of connecting porous knits (4) spaced apart from each other. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing H-shaped prostheses for hernia repair from said base knit thus obtained and to the prostheses obtained therefrom.
Ventral hernia defect closure
A tissue defect closure system includes an endoscopic surgical fixation device and an implant. The endoscopic surgical fixation device includes a handle assembly and an elongated outer tube having a distal end and including a plurality of fasteners disposed therein. The implant includes an elongated hollow body having a proximal end and a distal end, and defines an elongated pocket therein. The elongated pocket is dimensioned to engage the elongated outer tube of the endoscopic surgical fixation device.
RINGLESS WEB FOR REPAIR OF HEART VALVES
A ringless web is configured to repair heart valve function in patients suffering from degenerative mitral valve regurgitation (DMR) or functional mitral valve regurgitation (FMR). In accordance with various embodiments, a ringless web can be anchored at one or more locations below the valve plane in the ventricle, such as at a papillary muscle, and one or more locations above the valve plane, such as in the valve annulus. A tensioning mechanism connecting the ringless web to one or more of the anchors can be used to adjust a tension of the web such that web restrains the leaflet to prevent prolapse by restricting leaflet motion to the coaptation zone and/or promotes natural coaptation of the valve leaflets.
FUNCTIONALIZED SYNTHETIC SURGICAL MESH
Disclosed herein are surgical mesh materials and methods of production and use thereof.
Dynamic biometric mesh
A dynamic biometric mesh (10) has a plurality of radial members (30) and a plurality of catenaries (20). Each catenary (20) extends between and is fixed to at least one pair of adjacent radial members (30). The plurality of catenaries (20) and radial members (30) form a low mass structural system arranged in an architecture configured to be structurally stable in tension and pliable for deployment and integration with biologic tissue.
Hernia repair grafts having anti-adhesion barriers
Materials for soft tissue repair, and in particular, material for hernia repair. These materials may be configured as an implant, such as a graft, that may be implanted into a patient in need thereof, such as a patient having a hernia or undergoing a hernia repair surgical procedure. These grafts may include a first layer comprising a substrate (e.g., mesh) and a second layer comprising a sheet of anti-adhesive material. The layers may be attached with a plurality of relatively small attachment sites that are separated by regions in which the two layers are not attached, to provide a highly compliant graft.
Textile-based prothesis for laparoscopic surgery
The invention relates to a prosthesis (1) comprising a textile (2) of elongate shape defining a longitudinal axis A, and a resilient frame (3) connected to said textile along substantially the peripheral edge of the textile, said frame forming, in the area of each short side of the textile, at least one U-shaped bend (4) extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis, said frame being able to adopt an unstressed configuration, in which said textile is deployed, and a stressed configuration, in which said frame is subjected to a radial force directed towards said longitudinal axis and said textile forms at least one longitudinal fold.
