Provided herein are alkaline water compositions and methods of using these compositions.

Treatment process for produced water and blowdown water

This invention provides processes for treating a mixture of produced water and blowdown water comprising introducing produced water (PW) into blowdown water (BD) for forming a PW-BD water mixture, softening the PW-BD water mixture, subjecting the PW-BD water mixture to activated carbon filtration and reverse osmosis membrane desalination. The process generates a product water and a brine by-product.

Systems and methods for providing an electrolytic cell

The present invention relates to systems and methods for cleaning materials, such as flooring and upholstery. In some cases, the systems and methods use an electrolytic cell to electrolyze a solution comprising sodium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium acetate, sodium percarbonate, potassium carbonate, potassium bicarbonate, and/or any other suitable chemical to generate electrolyzed alkaline water and/or electrolyzed oxidizing water. In some cases, the cell comprises a recirculation loop that recirculates anolyte through an anode compartment of the cell. In some cases, the cell further comprises a sensor and a processor, where the processor is configured to automatically change an operation of the cell, based on a reading from the sensor. In some cases, a fluid flows past a magnet before entering the cell. In some additional cases, fluid from the cell is conditioned by being split into multiple conduits that run in proximity to each other. Additional implementations are described.

ALKALINE CATION ENRICHMENT AND WATER ELECTROLYSIS TO PROVIDE CO2 MINERALIZATION AND GLOBAL-SCALE CARBON MANAGEMENT

Provided herein are methods of removing carbon dioxide from an aqueous stream or gaseous stream by: contacting the gaseous stream comprising carbon dioxide, when present, with an aqueous solution comprising ions capable of forming an insoluble carbonate salt; contacting the aqueous solution comprising carbon dioxide with an electroactive mesh that induces its alkalinization thereby forcing the precipitation of a carbonate solid from the solution and thereby the removal of dissolved inorganic carbon by electrolysis; and removing the precipitated carbonate solids from the solution, or the surface of the mesh where they may deposit. Also provided herein are flow-through electrolytic reactors comprising an intake device in fluid connection with a rotating cylinder comprising an electroactive mesh, and a scraping device and/or liquid-spray based device for separating a solid from the mesh surface.

Apparatus and Methods for Nitrogen Reduction in Wastewater

An apparatus and method for extracting nitrogen including compounds from wastewater is disclosed herein. The methods and apparatus use molecularly designed selective electrocatalysts, electrolytes, and separation reactors to enable automated, distributed ammonia manufacturing with minimal environmental impacts. In some embodiments, a method of nitrogen reduction of wastewater is provided. The method includes: providing an apparatus including: a first chamber comprising a salt solution; a second chamber comprising a wastewater source; a third chamber comprising a salt solution and a third electrode, wherein the second chamber is positioned between the first chamber and the third chamber; an anion exchange membrane positioned between the first chamber and the second chamber; and a cation exchange membrane positioned between the second chamber and the third chamber; applying a potential bias between any two of the first chamber, the second chamber, and the third chamber.

Electrolyser for production of catholyte
11807949 · 2023-11-07 ·

Electrolyzer for catholyte production comprises an inner hollow cylindrical anode, an outer cylindrical cathode, and a diaphragm interposed between them. The length of the working part of the anode is at most 2 to 6 times the outer diameter of the anode. The inner hollow anode is made of one or two sections, the sections being connected to each other by a flow dielectric cylindrical sleeve having a diameter not larger than the outer diameter of the anode. The inner hollow anode has openings for introduction of water into inner cavity of the anode and openings for discharge of water at opposite ends of diameters of the anode lid. The electrolyzer for catholyte production operates in a horizontal position because outlet openings of the anode lid are located at the ends of the diameter of the anode lid, close to the outlet openings of the electrolyzer lid facing vertically upwards.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING ELECTROLYZED WATER

The described systems and methods relate to systems for providing a cleaning solution comprising electrolyzed water. While the cleaning systems can comprise any suitable component, in some cases, they include an electrolytic cell and at least one fluid conditioning system that includes a first conduit and a second conduit that are coupled together and are non-concentric with each other. While the fluid conditioning system can be disposed in any suitable location with respect to the cell, in some cases, the fluid condition system is disposed upstream of the cell to provide fluid that passes through the first and second conduits into the cell. In some cases, the fluid conditioning system is disposed downstream of the cell to receive an electrolyzed water produced by the cell. In some cases, the fluid conditioning system is configured to recirculate electrolyzed oxidizing water through an anode compartment of the cell. Other implementations are described.

Systems and methods for conditioning electrolyzed water
