ROW UNIT WITH TRACKS

A planting unit includes a seed meter for singulating and dispensing seed. Opening wheels or discs are included to create an opening in the field, such as a furrow. The unit includes one or more continuous tracks for supporting the row unit as it moves through the field. The tracks can be positioned on opposite sides. The tracks reduce compaction around the created furrow and provide better control of seed depth placement. One or more motors are included to operate the tracks to move the planting unit through a field for planting.

Particle delivery system of an agricultural row unit

A particle delivery system of an agricultural row unit includes a first particle disc configured to meter particles and a second particle disc configured to receive the particles from the first particle disc and to transfer the particles toward a trench in soil. The particle delivery system includes a vacuum source configured to reduce air pressure within a first vacuum passage to couple the particles to one or more first apertures of the first particle disc. The vacuum source is also configured to reduce air pressure within a second vacuum passage to couple the particles to one or more second apertures of the second particle disc. A rotation rate of the first particle disc is controllable to establish a particle spacing between the particles within the trench. A rotation rate of the second particle disc is controllable to expel the particles at a particle exit speed.

Particle delivery system of an agricultural row unit

A particle delivery system of an agricultural row unit includes a particle disc configured to receive a plurality of particles from a particle metering and singulation unit, and a particle belt configured to receive each particle of the plurality of particles from the particle disc and to expel the particle to a trench in soil. The particle disc is configured to accelerate each particle of the plurality of particles to a target particle transfer speed.

Single disk fertilizer opener for an agricultural planter

A single disk fertilizer opener assembly for opening a trench in soil includes a frame support and a cutting disk for forming the trench. The cutting disk is coupled to an axle and rotates about the axle as the assembly moves in a working direction. The assembly also includes a first arm pivotally coupled to the frame support and the axle, and a second arm pivotally coupled to the frame support at a location spaced from the first arm. A bracket is coupled to the axle and the second arm, and a scraper is coupled to the bracket and disposed substantially perpendicularly to the working direction.

ROW UNIT COMPONENT MOUNTING SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND APPARATUS FOR AGRICULTURAL IMPLEMENTS

An agricultural implement, such as an agricultural seed planter, includes a number of ground engaging row units. The row units receive seed and/or other particulates and deposit the seed or particulates to the ground. The row unit can include row cleaners to aid in allowing a coulter or disk to create a furrow in a field. The seed is metered via a seed metering system and deposited in the furrow. A closing system closes the furrow after the seed has been deposited. To aid in access and mounting of the seed meter, it can be connected without connection to side components of a frame. In addition, the row cleaner and closing system can include mounting systems that allow better results and easier access to the same and other portions of the row units.
