UNFIRED HEAT AND/OR SOUND INSULATION PRODUCT AND INSULATION BLANKET OBTAINED THEREFROM
The invention relates to an uncured thermal and/or sound insulation product, based on mineral wool, advantageously on glass wool, that is in the form of a ply comprising a mineral wool layer sized by at least one binder, said sized layer having: a surface density, or basis weight, of less than or equal to 350 g/m.sup.2, preferably less than or equal to 300 g/m.sup.2, or less than or equal to 250 g/m.sup.2, and, optionally, greater than or equal to 200 g/m.sup.2, a micronaire of at most 3 under 5 grams, preferably of at most 15 l/min, better still of at most 12 l/min, and of at least 9 l/min, and the ply having a thickness of greater than 10 mm, or greater than or equal to 15 mm, or even greater than or equal to 25 mm.
The invention makes it possible to propose a thermal and/or sound insulation product that is lighter while retaining satisfactory thermal and/or sound insulation properties and a good mechanical strength.

Fibers for use in fiber-reinforced resin, and production method thereof
Fibers for fiber-reinforced resin of the present invention are fibers for fiber-reinforced resin to which a sizing agent is adhered. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers, and an ester bond (COO) generated by denaturation of the sizing agent is present on surfaces of the fibers. A method for producing the same according to the present invention includes: subjecting fibers to which a sizing agent is adhered to at least one treatment selected from the group consisting of ozone oxidation, ultraviolet irradiation at a wavelength of 400 nm or less, and a plasma treatment. The fibers are at least one selected from carbon fibers and glass fibers. Thus, it is possible to provide carbon fibers having enhanced wettability to a matrix resin and thereby allowing the matrix resin to be impregnated between the fibers easily.

RESIN RICH POLYUREA-BASED INTEGRATED EXTERNAL LAYER FOR REINFORCED THERMOSETTING RESIN PIPING PROTECTION
This disclosure describes a reinforced thermosetting resin piping system that is protected from external impact and UV damage by an outer polyurea-based layer. The embodiments described herein can be favorably used for underground and aboveground applications. In some implementations, an RTR pipe includes a core layer that includes a resin and fibers, an outer layer that includes a polyurea-based layer, and an interface layer between the core layer and the outer layer. The methods described herein also outline the process of producing the pipe structure.
RESIN RICH POLYUREA-BASED INTEGRATED EXTERNAL LAYER FOR REINFORCED THERMOSETTING RESIN PIPING PROTECTION
This disclosure describes a reinforced thermosetting resin piping system that is protected from external impact and UV damage by an outer polyurea-based layer. The embodiments described herein can be favorably used for underground and aboveground applications. In some implementations, an RTR pipe includes a core layer that includes a resin and fibers, an outer layer that includes a polyurea-based layer, and an interface layer between the core layer and the outer layer. The methods described herein also outline the process of producing the pipe structure.
