The present invention relates to electrothermic composite material comprising an electrothermic layer on a substrate, wherein the electrothermic layer comprises glass having a carbon component dispersed throughout, wherein the glass, the carbon component, and their relative concentrations are selected such that the electrothermic layer resists delamination from the substrate over repeated electrical heating and cooling cycles. Methods and uses of the composite materials are also described.
THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE FILLER, THERMALLY-CONDUCTIVE COMPOSITE MATERIAL, WIRE HARNESS, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THERMALLY CONDUCTIVE FILLER
A thermally conductive filler can exhibit high thermal conductive properties with a reduced specific gravity, a thermally-conductive composite material and a wire harness contains such a thermally conductive filler, and a method manufactures a thermally conductive filler. A thermally conductive filler contains base particles and a coating layer coating the particles, the coating layer contains a gel-like substance that is bonded to the surfaces of the base particles through chemical bonding and coats the surfaces of the base particles, and a thermally-conductive substance that is dispersed in the layer of the gel-like substance and has a higher thermal conductivity and a larger specific gravity than the base particles and the gel-like substance. Also, a thermally-conductive composite material is obtained by dispersing the thermally conductive filler in a matrix material. Furthermore, a wire harness contains the thermally-conductive composite material.

A light filtering glass container including a glass container coated with a light filtering coating obtained by curing a polymerizable composition including semi-conductive nanoparticles. The absorbance through a 5-micrometer thick light filtering coating is greater than 0.5 for each light wavelength ranging from 350 nm to λ.sub.cut, λ.sub.cut being in the range from 420 nm to 480 nm, and the difference of lightness between the uncoated glass container and the glass container with the light filtering coating is lower than 5.
Complex retroreflective bead
A retroreflective composite bead for highway marking having high retroreflectivity both when initially installed and over the bead lifetime, allowing vehicle drivers to see highway marking lines at night and in adverse conditions during nighttime. When installed the retroreflective beads essentially retroreflect the base color of the highway marking material in which the retroreflective beads are embedded. The beads comprise a larger bead with a coating of smaller particles heat bonded to its surface.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING THIN FILM, THIN FILM FORMING MATERIAL, OPTICAL THIN FILM, AND OPTICAL MEMBER
Disclosed are a method for producing an optical thin film having a low refractive index, a thin film forming material, an optical thin film, and an optical member. The method for producing an optical thin film includes forming a vapor deposition film by depositing a thin film forming material on an object in a non-oxidizing atmosphere by a physical vapor deposition method; and bringing the vapor deposition film into contact with a first acidic solution comprising an acidic substance in a range of pH 2.5 or more and pH 3.5 or less to obtain a first thin film having voids, wherein the thin film forming material is a mixture comprising indium oxide and silicon oxide, in which the indium oxide is in a range of 0.230 mol or more and 0.270 mol or less with respect to 1 mol of the silicon oxide.
Low-reflection coated glass sheet, method for producing low-reflection coated substrate, and coating liquid for forming low-reflection coating of low-reflection coated substrate
A low-reflection coated glass sheet of the present invention includes a glass sheet and a low-reflection coating. The low-reflection coating is formed on at least a portion of one principal surface of the glass sheet and contains a binder containing silica as a main component, fine silica particles bound by the binder, and fine titania particles bound by the binder. The low-reflection coating satisfies the following relationships: 30 mass %<C.sub.SP<68 mass %; 12 mass %≤C.sub.TP<50 mass %; 20 mass %<C.sub.Binder<43.75 mass %; C.sub.TP/C.sub.Binder≥0.6; C.sub.Binder<25 mass % in the case of C.sub.SP≥55 mass %; and C.sub.TP>20 mass % in the case of C.sub.SP<55 mass %. The low-reflection coated glass sheet has a transmittance gain of 2.0% or more.
