The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.

ASPIRATION THROMBECTOMY SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR THROMBUS REMOVAL WITH ASPIRATION CATHETER

A clot removal system comprises a catheter, a vacuum source, and a controller. The catheter comprises a proximal end, a distal end, and controller operating parameters and defines a lumen configured to be filled with a liquid column having a proximal portion. The vacuum source is configured to supply vacuum. The controller is configured to carry out a control pattern of turning on and off the vacuum based upon the controller operating parameters and is configured to receive the controller operating parameters in an automatic response to the catheter being operatively connected to at least one of the vacuum source and the controller and, responsive to the connection, to carry out the control pattern to change a level of vacuum at the distal end of the catheter.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO RESTORE PERFUSION TO A VESSEL

Methods and systems for using a clot retrieval device for treating a clot in a blood vessel for use in the treatment of ischemic stroke to achieve a clinically effective revascularization or perfusion rate for clots comprising a higher ratio of red blood cells to fibrin.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVE PRESSURE-CONTROLLED THERAPEUTIC DELIVERY

A method is provided for manufacturing a polymer-coated elastic braid including forming a plurality of elastic filaments into a braid. The braid is mounted within a tubular mandrel. The mandrel-mounted braid is dip-coating in a polymer solution containing a polymer and at least one solvent. The dip-coated braid is then heated to release the at least one solvent. Then, the dip-coated mandrel-mounted braid is cooled to solidify the polymer on the braid. The braid is then removed from the mandrel. The braid can be attached to a catheter for use as a microvalve in a vessel.

TRANSLUMINAL ANGIOPLASTY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE

A percutaneous transluminal angioplasty device includes a catheter defining one or more lumens. A filter is coupled to the catheter adjacent a distal end of the catheter, and the filter is movable between an unexpanded and expanded configuration via a filter activation wire that extends through a lumen. An expandable balloon is coupled to the catheter proximally of the filter, and a stent is disposed over at least a portion of the balloon. To deploy the stent to a target site, the filter is first moved into its expanded position via the filter activation wire. Then, the stent is expanded, and the balloon is inflated to expand the stent further radially. The balloon is then deflated, the filter is contracted, and the catheter, balloon, and filter are removed from the body.

In vivo positionable filtration devices are provided that filter one or more therapeutic agents in blood flowing in a blood vessel. The filtration devices include an elongated member and a filtering component coupled to the elongated member. The elongated member and the filtering component are dimensioned for positioning within a blood vessel of a human or non-human animal. Further, the filtering component includes a filtration material to filter the one or more therapeutic agents from blood. Methods of in vivo filtration of one or more therapeutic agents are also provided. The methods include positioning a filtration device in a blood vessel of a body of a human or non-human animal, and administering a therapeutic agent upstream from the target tissue site to direct flow of the therapeutic agent to the target tissue site and then to the filtration device. The filtration device is positioned downstream from a target tissue site.

Embolism Protection Device for Introducing Into an Aortic Arch

The invention concerns an embolic protection device for inserting into an aortic arch to prevent embolisms. The invention moreover concerns a handle for such an embolic protection device, as well as a system consisting of a handle and/or embolic protection device and/or a catheter. Through the invention, an embolic protection device for inserting into an aortic arch, comprising a filtering unit and a feeding unit, is provided, wherein the filtering unit comprises a frame and a filter mesh, and the filter mesh is placed on the frame, the filtering unit has a proximal area and a distal area, wherein the filtering unit is designed in such a way that it can, at least partially, be positioned in the aortic arch, and wherein, once the filtering unit is appropriately positioned, haptic and/or visual feedback is generated, which signals to the user the final position.
