Solid electrolyte for all solid-state lithium-ion battery and manufacturing method therefor
The method for manufacturing a solid electrolyte using an LLZ material for a lithium-ion battery comprises the steps of: providing a starting material in which lanthanum nitrate [La(NO.sub.3).sub.3.6H.sub.2O] and zirconium nitrate [ZrO(NO.sub.3).sub.2.6H.sub.2O] are mixed at a mole ratio of 3:2; forming an aqueous solution by dissolving the starting material; forming a precipitate by putting ammonia, which is a complex agent, and sodium hydroxide, which adjusts the pH of a reactor, into the aqueous solution, mixing the same, and then co-precipitating the mixture; forming a primary precursor powder by cleaning, drying and pulverizing the precipitate; forming a secondary precursor powder by mixing lithium powder [LiOH.H2O] with the primary precursor powder and ball-milling the mixture so as to solidify the lithium; and forming a solid electrolyte powder by heat-treating the secondary precursor powder.

Provided are a ceramic complex capable of improving the luminous efficiency, a projector comprising a ceramic complex, and a method for producing a ceramic complex. Proposed is a ceramic complex including a rare earth aluminate fluorescent material having an average particle diameter in a range of 15 μm or more and 40 μm or less, aluminum oxide having a purity of aluminum oxide of 99.0% by mass or more, and voids, wherein the content of the rare earth aluminate fluorescent material is in a range of 15% by mass or more and 50% by mass or less relative to a total amount of the rare earth aluminate fluorescent material and the aluminum oxide, and a void fraction is in a range of 1% or more and 10% or less.
Rapid-Induction Sinter Forge for Roll-to-Roll Continuous Manufacturing of Thin Films
A method of and apparatus for sinter forging a precursor powder to form a film may reduce or eliminate the stress in the film and may facilitate processing of continuous length of films such as ceramic films for use in batteries. The precursor powder can be provided on a substrate and is simultaneously heated and pressed in a pressing direction parallel to a thickness of the film so as to sinter and densify the precursor powder to form the film in a sinter forging area. Notably, in a plane perpendicular to the pressing direction, there are no lateral constraints on the sinter forging area or the material received therein.
GARNET-LITHIUM TITANATE COMPOSITE ELECTROLYTE
A sintered composite ceramic includes: a lithium-garnet major phase; and a lithium-rich minor phase, such that the lithium-rich minor phase has Li.sub.xTiO.sub.(x+4)/2, with 0.66≤x≤4. The sintered composite ceramic may exhibit a relative density of at least 90% of a theoretical maximum density of the ceramic, an ionic conductivity of at least 0.35 mS.Math.cm.sup.−1, or a critical current density (CCD) of at least 1.0 mA.Math.cm.sup.−2.
Garnet materials for Li secondary batteries and methods of making and using garnet materials
Set forth herein are garnet material compositions, e.g., lithium-stuffed garnets and lithium-stuffed garnets doped with alumina, which are suitable for use as electrolytes and catholytes in solid state battery applications. Also set forth herein are lithium-stuffed garnet thin films having fine grains therein. Disclosed herein are novel and inventive methods of making and using lithium-stuffed garnets as catholytes, electrolytes and/or anolytes for all solid state lithium rechargeable batteries. Also disclosed herein are novel electrochemical devices which incorporate these garnet catholytes, electrolytes and/or anolytes. Also set forth herein are methods for preparing novel structures, including dense thin (<50 um) free standing membranes of an ionically conducting material for use as a catholyte, electrolyte, and, or, anolyte, in an electrochemical device, a battery component (positive or negative electrode materials), or a complete solid state electrochemical energy storage device. Also, the methods set forth herein disclose novel sintering techniques, e.g., for heating and/or field assisted (FAST) sintering, for solid state energy storage devices and the components thereof.
SINTERING LARGE AREA CERAMIC FILMS
Set forth herein are processes and materials for sintering dense thin green films comprising lithium-stuffed garnet powder and a binder to obtain sintered lithium-stuffed garnet thin films. Some of the processes, herein, include providing a first setter and a second setter, wherein the first setter and second setter each include at least 5 atomic % lithium (Li) per setter; placing the green film on the first setter; placing the second setter within 2 cm of the green film but not in contact with the green film; and heating the green film to at least 900 C.
Temperature insensitive dielectric constant garnets
Embodiments of synthetic garnet materials having advantageous properties, especially for below resonance frequency applications, are disclosed herein. In particular, embodiments of the synthetic garnet materials can have high Curie temperatures and dielectric constants while maintaining low magnetization. These materials can be incorporated into isolators and circulators, such as for use in telecommunication base stations.
COMPOSITE STRUCTURE AND SEMICONDUCTOR MANUFACTURING APPARATUS INCLUDING COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
Disclosed is to provide a composite structure used as a member for a semiconductor manufacturing apparatus with which low-particle generation can be improved, as well as a semiconductor manufacturing apparatus including the same. A composite structure including a base material and a structure that is provided on the base material and has a surface, in which the structure comprises Y.sub.3Al.sub.5O.sub.12 as a main component, and has an indentation hardness being larger than 8.5 GPa features excellent low-particle generation and is suitably used as a member for a semiconductor apparatus.
Annealed garnet electrolycte separators
Set forth herein are pellets, thin films, and monoliths of lithium-stuffed garnet electrolytes having engineered surfaces. These engineered surfaces have a list of advantageous properties including, but not limited to, low surface area resistance, high Li.sup.+ ion conductivity, low tendency for lithium dendrites to form within or thereupon when the electrolytes are used in an electrochemical cell. Other advantages include voltage stability and long cycle life when used in electrochemical cells as a separator or a membrane between the positive and negative electrodes. Also set forth herein are methods of making these electrolytes including, but not limited to, methods of annealing these electrolytes under controlled atmosphere conditions. Set forth herein, additionally, are methods of using these electrolytes in electrochemical cells and devices. The instant disclosure further includes electrochemical cells which incorporate the lithium-stuffed garnet electrolytes set forth herein.
Method for manufacturing transparent ceramic material for faraday rotator
A slurry or slip composed of a dispersion medium and a dispersoid including sinterable raw material powder containing a complex oxide powder represented by the following formula (1):

wherein R is yttrium and/or lutetium, 0.05≤x<0.45, 0<y<0.1, 0.5<1-x-y<0.95, and 0.004<z<0.2 is prepared; the slurry or slip is subsequently enclosed in a mold container to be subjected to solid-liquid separation by centrifugal casting to mold a cast compact; the cast compact is dried thereafter; a dried compact is degreased; a degreased compact is sintered thereafter; and a sintered body is further subjected to a hot isostatic pressing treatment to obtain the transparent ceramic material composed of the sintered body of garnet-type rare earth complex oxide represented by the formula (1).
