IMPLEMENTING A STAND-UP SEQUENCE USING A LOWER-EXTREMITY PROSTHESIS OR ORTHOSIS
20230380995 · 2023-11-30 ·

Knee orthoses or prostheses can be used to automatically, when appropriate, initiate a stand-up sequence based on the position of a person's knee with respect to the person's ankle while the person is in a seated position. When the knee is moved to a position that is forward of the ankle, at least one actuator of the orthosis or prosthesis is actuated to help raise the person from the seated position to a standing position.

LINER HAVING DIFFERENT REGIONS OF ELONGATION

A prosthetic liner includes a textile cover having at least first and second regions having different elongation from one another. The first region is in a prestretched configuration in at least one orientation relative to an axis of the prosthetic liner and locked in the prestretched configuration according to a layer of elastomeric material located along a surface of the textile cover.

ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY FOR A MYOELECTRIC PROSTHESIS

An electrode assembly for a myoelectric prosthesis allowing at least partial decoupling of the movement of the at least one electrode from the electrode housing case and from the prosthesis socket through the mounting of the at least one electrode using at least one biasing element. This allows the at least one electrode to be forced into contact with the patient in the target area using a moveable pressure application structure reducing/eliminating socket motion artifacts because the pressure is transferred toward the target area but the at least one electrode is not otherwise constrained to minimise or avoid the at least one electrode being dragged across the target area through the mounting to the prosthesis socket which causes socket motion artifacts.

AUTOMATED HAND

The invention relates to an automated hand, such as a prosthetic hand. In one form, the automated hand may be fluid compatible. In one form, the automated hand may comprise features to reduce the risk of harm to motors and/or other sensitive components of the hand when subject to an impact. In one form, the hand may comprise a wrist joint configured to allow the hand to curl and flex and/or to rotate. In one form, one or more digits of the hand may be individually controlled. In one form the hand may include a thumb rotation locking mechanism. In one form the hand may be provided with removable grip plates. In one form, the hand may be configured for use as a training hand.

Finger prosthesis with adjustable biological activation

Prosthesis for at least one cut-off finger resulting in a stump at the height of the proximal, middle and/or distal phalange, or in a finger with missing stump. The prosthesis from a modular hinged mechanism allowing for a self-return flexion movement and the activation of said mechanism from at least one force applied to any point of a plane on said mechanism. A prosthesis for a hand with missing stumps is also provided from the wrist movement providing a range of operation greater than the art, wherein said flexion is activated from an extension movement of the wrist.

Prosthetic knee joint

A prosthetic knee joint includes an upper part, a lower part which is arranged pivotably to the upper part, a fastening device arranged on the upper part for a proximal prosthetic element, a fastening device arranged on the lower part for a distal prosthetic element, a four-limbed joint system with four linkages articulatedly fastened to each other, which are each pivotable to each other around a pivot axis, wherein the upper part is arranged on the joint system. The joint system may be mounted pivotably on the lower part from a starting position counter to a spring force during a stance phase flexion, and the action line of the spring force may be aligned such that a moment acting against an inflexion of the joint system is present.

Prosthetic Liner With External Fabric Seal
20220096251 · 2022-03-31 ·

A prosthetic liner for use with a prosthetic socket that has a thermoplastic elastomeric (TPE) layer that is in contact with the amputee's residual limb. The TPE layer is not uniform in thickness but has ridges to extend circumferentially around the TPE layer. A fabric exterior layer covers the outer surface of the TPE layer conforming to the ridges and is used as a substrate to form a mechanical bond to an elastomeric material. Impregnating the elastomeric material within the fabric exterior occurs by applying an uncured material to the fabric exterior layer and onto at least the apex surfaces located within the sealing regions thereby creating an air tight boundary layer when inserted into a socket. When a vacuum is applied the air is evacuated from the volume below the seal layer.

Flexible multi use post operative prosthetic socket system
11304830 · 2022-04-19 ·

A prosthetic apparatus and system for a trans-tibial amputee consisting of a post-operative interface socket that can be adjusted to accommodate the size of an amputated limb and changes in size of the limb. The prosthetic apparatus includes a lower socket into which the post-operative socket can be inserted, the lower socket being adjustable for changes in size of the post-operative interface socket. The post-operative socket also has a removable upper back shell that immobilizes movement of the knee during an initial recovery phase but can be removed to allow the knee of the amputee to flex.

OSSEOINTEGRATION SYSTEM
20220096250 · 2022-03-31 ·

Improved osseointegration devices and structures, including such structures that can be used in connection with prosthetic limbs. Examples include a self-centering implant/nut configuration, a centering device, a tapered mounting screw hole, a coupling device, and an aiming device. The devices are highly efficacious. For example, they can be secured with minimal residual bone, and may be removed without significant bone destruction.

INTERCHANGEABLE DISTAL END FOR A PROSTHETIC SOCKET SYSTEM
20220071782 · 2022-03-10 ·

A prosthetic socket system having an interchangeable distal end, includes a prosthetic socket defining a substantially rigid base, and a funnel formed from a polymeric material and removably attached to the base of a prosthetic socket. The funnel is arranged to be positioned in the base, and is configured and dimensioned to accommodate a distal end of a residual limb.
