FOOT SHELL SYSTEM
A system with a foot shell, which has a forefoot inner contour and a heel inner contour, at least two prosthetic feet, each with a forefoot region and a heel region, and at least two forefoot inserts that can be positioned at the forefoot region of at least one prosthetic foot, and/or at least two heel inserts that can be positioned at the heel region of at least one prosthesis region, wherein each prosthetic foot has an outer contour of the forefoot with at least one forefoot insert positioned at its forefoot region, which is adapted to the forefoot inner contour of the foot shell, and/or that each prosthetic foot with at least one heel insert positioned at its heel region has a heel outer contour which is adapted to the heel inner contour of the foot shell.
Adjustable prosthetic limb system
An adjustable socket system includes a socket frame having a proximal area, a distal area opposite the proximal area, a first component arranged along a first side of the socket system, and a second component arranged along a second side of the socket system. The first component is connected to the second component. A tubular insert is arranged on an interior of at least the proximal area of the socket frame. The tubular insert forms an interior surface of the socket system. At least one tensioning element operatively connects the tubular insert to the first and/or second components. At least one tensioner is attached to the at least one tensioning element that selectively tensions the tensioning element to adjust a circumference of at least one area of the socket system.
ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNICAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME
An orthopedic technical device having a top part and a bottom part, which are connected to each other by at least one joint device so as to be pivotable about a joint axis, and at least one attachment device with which the orthopedic technical device can be fixed to a limb. The orthopedic technical device also has an actuator, which is fixed to attachment points on the top part and the bottom part and influences a pivoting of the top part relative to the bottom part, wherein the orientation of the bottom part can be adjusted relative to the limb which is fixable to the upper part.
SINGLE AXIS ANKLE-FOOT PROSTHESIS WITH MECHANICALLY ADJUSTABLE RANGE OF MOTION
An ankle prosthesis can have a base and an upper hinge component that is pivotably attached to the base about an axis. First and second biasing elements can bias the upper hinge component in first and second rotational directions, respectively. At least one selectively extendable and retractable locking element can extend from one of the base and the upper hinge component and engage the other of the base and the upper hinge component to limit the pivotable movement of the upper hinge component.
Adjustable socket system
An adjustable socket system includes first and second shell components and first and second longitudinal supports connected to a base. The socket system is movable between an open configuration to loosen the fit of the socket system, and a closed configuration to secure the fit of the socket system on residual limb received therein. A tightening system includes a tensioning unit having a handle defining a moment arm rotatable about a rotation axis, and a tensioning element operatively coupled to the handle via a movable connection point located and protected between the first shell component and the first support and to the shell components via a control point. Rotation of the handle displaces the movable connection point and the tensioning element relative to the control point to move the socket system to the closed configuration.
Prosthetic socket sealing system
A prosthetic socket system includes a distal seal positionable between an interior surface of a prosthetic socket defining a pin bore and a distal end of a prosthetic liner carrying an attachment pin arranged to extend through the pin bore. The distal seal includes a base proximate to the attachment pin and defining an opening configured to receive and surround the attachment pin, a sealing portion extending distally from an outer radial portion of the base, and a variable clearance defined between the sealing portion and the base. The sealing portion is adapted to form a seal around the attachment pin and prevent fluid flow through the pin bore by deflecting relative to the base when the sealing portion engages the interior surface of the prosthetic socket.
Microfluidic-based artificial muscles and method of formation
Artificial muscles comprising a body of dielectric elastomer, wherein the body contains a pair of microfluidic networks are presented. Each microfluidic network includes a plurality of channels fluidically coupled via a manifold. The channels of the microfluidic networks are interdigitated and filled with conductive fluid such that each set of adjacent channels functions as the electrodes of an electroactive polymer (EAP) actuator. By using the manifolds as compliant wiring to energize the electrodes, artificial muscles in accordance with the present disclosure mitigate some or all of the reliability problems associated with prior-art artificial muscles.
TRANSFEMORAL LEVEL INTERFACE SYSTEM USING COMPLIANT MEMBERS
A transfemoral prosthetic level socket system for a user's lower limb comprising modular socket components fitted to the individual user's residual limb having a mounting point for an attachment, at least one compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit, and at least one second compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit wherein the first compliant member and the second compliant member work in cooperation with the stabilizing unit(s) to control bone position and support the limb within the interface.
Overmould attachments for prosthetic foot
An attachment for a prosthetic foot comprising an attachment surface that couples to the edges of a foot plate of a prosthetic foot and an outer surface that functionally or cosmetically alters the foot plate of the prosthetic foot in order to adapt the prosthetic foot to the needs of the user. In another embodiment, a toe attachment for a prosthetic foot comprising a cavity that can receive the toe end of an elongate foot element of a prosthetic foot, the toe attachment that can functionally or cosmetically alter the elongate foot element in order to adapt the prosthetic foot to the needs of the user. In yet another embodiment, a seal cover that can removably engage a prosthetic foot and a cosmetic cover for a prosthetic foot, resulting in a substantially watertight connection between the seal cover and the prosthesis and the seal cover and the cosmesis.
MODULAR PROSTHETIC DEVICES AND PROSTHESIS SYSTEMS
An adjustable prosthesis system for a residual limb includes: an adjustable outer shell surrounding the residual limb having a plurality of overlapping flaps, a top opening along a top edge extending around the outer shell, a bottom having a bottom edge opposite the top edge and extending around the bottom, a first side, and a second side having an adjustable width, and a plurality of adjustable overlapping side ends, some of which overlap and some do not, extending from the top edge to the bottom edge; a base adjacent the bottom of the outer shell and connected to it; and a closure component attached to the outer shell to compress the residual limb. Tightening the closure component applies a pulling force to at least one of the first side and the second side, thereby causing a reduction in width of a discontinuity and increased overlap of the side ends.
