A method for designing a prosthetic limb including obtaining a three-dimensional model representing a limb of a patient. One or more criteria for a prosthetic limb are determined, from the three-dimensional model. Object data is generated for one or more elements of the prosthetic limb according to the determined criteria.

ORTHOPAEDIC TECHNICAL DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING SAME

Methods for controlling an orthopedic technical device having a top part and a bottom part, which are connected to each other by at least one joint device so as to be pivotable about a joint axis, and at least one attachment device with which the orthopedic technical device can be fixed to a limb are provided. The orthopedic technical device also has an actuator, which is fixed to attachment points on the top part and the bottom part and influences a pivoting of the top part relative to the bottom part, wherein the orientation of the bottom part can be adjusted relative to the limb which is fixable to the upper part.

ORTHOPAEDIC SOCKET AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTMENT THEREOF

The invention relates to an orthopaedic socket for bearing on and for receiving a limb stump or a limb, having at least one socket wall (2), a proximal access opening (3), a distal end (4) and at least one fastening device (5) which is arranged for fastening at least one distal orthopaedic component (6) to the socket (1), wherein at least one stiffening element (40) is arranged or formed on or in the socket wall (2), said stiffening element being assigned an adjustment device (30) and by means of which a stiffness of the socket wall (2) is reversibly variable at least in certain regions.

Adaptable socket system, method, and kit

An adjustable socket system, method, and kit for use with prosthetic devices or orthotic, orthopedic, or exoskeletal support devices that includes a paddle and a compressing device coupled to the paddle. The paddle is chosen from a plurality of paddles of different shapes in such a way that the paddle inner surface is substantially coextensive with a soft tissue area overlying skeletal structures. The compressing device presses the paddle against the soft tissue area in order to minimize the motion of the paddle relative to the underlying skeletal structures without causing discomfort to the user or compressing areas not in contact with the paddle, allowing compressed tissue to flow into uncompressed areas. The system, method, and kit can include an external tool, sensors, actuators, and controllers, to assist fitting and for adjustment after fitting. A stabilizer can be added to resist the bending force on the paddle.

Prosthetic device with a rotatable pyramid and lateral travel limit

A prosthetic device having a rotatable pyramid and lateral travel limit is provided. A first member has a first end connectable to a prosthetic component and a second end with a bar having sides and a distal face. The distal face has ribs thereon. A central hole is provided through the first member. A second member has a first end with a pyramid and a second end with a ring that defines a recess with a solid face. A third member has a dome on a first end and a channel on the second end. The pyramid extends through a central hole through the dome. A screw passes through the central hole of the first member wherein it can engage the second member within the recess. The lateral movement of the bar within the channel is bound by the screw contacting the second member.

Powered and passive assistive device and related methods

Systems and methods for assistive devices for replacing or augmenting the limb of an individual, such devices comprising a joint and a powered system; the powered system having a first configuration in which the powered system rotates the joint by applying power to the joint, and a second configuration that allows for rotation of the joint without actuation of the powered system.

TRANSFEMORAL LEVEL INTERFACE SYSTEM USING COMPLIANT MEMBERS
20190183662 · 2019-06-20 ·

A transfemoral prosthetic level socket system for a user's lower limb comprising modular socket components fitted to the individual user's residual limb having a mounting point for an attachment, at least one compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit, and at least one second compliant member attached to at least one stabilizing unit wherein the first compliant member and the second compliant member work in cooperation with the stabilizing unit(s) to control bone position and support the limb within the interface.

Locking prosthetic knee and core components therefor

A prosthetic knee can include a variable-torque magnetorheological (MR) actuator assembly or braking system, a frame and an electronics assembly or system that also serves as a mount for the knee actuator and facilitates in monitoring and controlling the operation of the knee actuator. The prosthetic knee system advantageously provides resistive forces to substantially simulate the position and motion of a natural knee joint during ambulation and/or other locomotory activities performed by the amputee. The prosthetic knee can have a series of internal blades for providing resistive forces. A locking ratchet can be used to lock knee position. A dynamic seal with a protective shim can be disposed in the knee actuator. A coil with a non-circular cross-section can be used.

A prosthetic socket system includes a distal seal positionable between an interior surface of a prosthetic socket defining a pin bore and a distal end of a prosthetic liner carrying an attachment pin arranged to extend through the pin bore. The distal seal includes a base proximate to the attachment pin and defining an opening configured to receive and surround the attachment pin, a sealing portion extending distally from an outer radial portion of the base, and a variable clearance defined between the sealing portion and the base. The sealing portion is adapted to form a seal around the attachment pin and prevent fluid flow through the pin bore by deflecting relative to the base when the sealing portion engages the interior surface of the prosthetic socket.

PROSTHETIC SOCKET SYSTEM

A prosthetic socket system includes a prosthetic lock assembly having a lock body defining a pin hole adapted to receive an attachment pin, and a locking device in the lock body. The locking device is engageable with the attachment pin to unidirectionally lock the attachment pin in the lock body while permitting insertion of the attachment pin in the lock body. A valve assembly is positioned in the lock body that is movable between a closed position and an open position in which the valve assembly is unsealed so that air moves into the lock body via the valve assembly. A release mechanism positioned in the lock body is arranged to both release the locking device from the attachment pin and move the valve assembly to the open position by translating the locking device in the lock body.
