Artificial hand

An artificial hand is provided. The artificial includes phalanges suitable to reproduce at least one finger, hinges hinging a first element identifying a phalanx to a second element identifying a second phalanx, and an implementation mechanism suitable to command a reciprocal rotation between the hinges defining a mutual rotation speed between the first and second element. The hinges define different damping coefficients so that, during a mutual rotation of the first and second element, they are subject to distinct damping forces opposing mutual rotation and proportional to the mutual rotation speed so as to vary the movement of the artificial hand as a function of the mutual rotation speed.

Prosthetic partial fingers

Various embodiments of the present invention generally relate to prosthetic partial finger designs that can mimic the last two joints of the finger. Some embodiments include a proximal phalange, a distal phalange coupled to the proximal phalange, and a knuckle track (e.g., formed in an arc). The knuckle track can be moveably coupled to the proximal phalange an may include multiple teeth formed on which the proximal phalange slides along. A ratcheting mechanism can contact the multiple teeth to allow sliding in only a first direction while the ratcheting mechanism is engaged. Some embodiments include a release mechanism (e.g., a button) configured to disengage the ratcheting mechanism from the multiple teeth to allow the distal phalange to slide in a second direction. In some embodiments, the device may include a spring-back capability that automatically extends the finger after reaching full finger flexion, enabling one-handed use.

Prosthesis cosmetic element, and system consisting of prosthesis cosmetic element and prosthesis

A prosthesis cosmetic element for a prosthesis comprising a prosthesis joint which has an upper part and a lower part that is mounted thereon in a pivotal manner about a pivot axis, the prosthesis cosmetic element has a first frame part, which has at least one first securing device for fixing on the lower part, and a second frame part with at least one second securing device for securing on the upper part. The frame parts are mounted in a pivotal manner relative to each other, and the prosthesis joint is equipped with a rotational element on which an actuating element is arranged. The actuating element is accessible from the outside by a frame part or through a frame part.

The present invention is a robotic prosthesis comprising: a mounting plate designed to attach to a wearer; a first joint attached to the mounting plate, wherein the first joint provides for rotation about a fixed number of axes; an arm having a first end and a second end, wherein the first joint is secured to the first end; an attachment, connected to the second end of the arm, wherein the attachment has at least one camera; and a computing device, wherein the computing device is able to collect data from the at least one joints to control the positioning of the attachment.

Orthopedic device

An orthopedic device for the orthotic or prosthetic provision of a patient. The orthopedic device includes a knee joint which has a proximal upper part and a distal lower part arranged pivotably thereon, an ankle joint, a pivoted foot part which can be fastened distally to the ankle joint, and a shin part arranged between the ankle joint and the knee joint. The upper part of the knee joint or a thigh part fastened thereto that can be attached to the patient's body and is coupled with the foot part by a force transfer device, which causes a plantar flexion of the foot part when a knee is flexed.

A multi-articulated link knee joint includes: a knee unit in which an upper link member is structured to rotate relative to a lower link member by a multi-articulated link mechanism including a plurality of link members including the upper link member and the lower link member; a driven member to move in accordance with the rotation of the upper link member; a position detector for detecting the position of the driven member, the position detector provided at the lower link member; and an angle detector for obtaining the bending angle of the knee unit from the position of the driven member.

TRUNK SUPPORTING EXOSKELETON AND METHOD OF USE

An exoskeleton includes two torque generators, two thigh links, and a supporting trunk rotatably coupled to the thigh links. When a wearer bends forward in the sagittal plane such that the supporting trunk extends beyond a predetermined angle A with respect to vertical, at least one of the torque generators imposes a resisting torque between the supporting trunk and a corresponding thigh link, thus imposing a force onto a wearer's trunk and thighs to aid in supporting the wearer in a bent position. The exoskeleton may include an active or passive means for actuating the generators. When the supporting trunk does not extend beyond the predetermined angle A, the torque generators do not impose resisting torques between the supporting trunk and the thigh links during the entire range of motion of the thigh links, thus enabling a wearer to walk, run and sit without constraint while in an upright position.

ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE

The invention relates to an orthopaedic device for the orthotic or prosthetic provision of a patient witha knee joint (10), which has a proximal upper part (11) and a distal lower part (13) arranged pivotably thereon, an ankle joint (20), a pivoted foot part (23) which can be fastened distally to the ankle joint (20), anda shin part (14) arranged between the ankle joint (20) and the knee joint (10), wherein the upper part (11) of the knee joint (10) or a thigh part fastened thereto that can be attached to the patient's body is coupled with the foot part (23) by means of a force transfer device (3; 30, 31, 32, 35; 40, 41, 42), which causes a plantar flexion of the foot part (23) when a knee is flexed.

Prosthesis for a lower limb

A prosthesis for a residual limb includes an element for receiving a stump fitted on or established by a support part, a distal prosthetic part, and an absorbing system. The distal prosthetic part is assembled on the support part by a pivot link forming a joint to enable flexion or extension of the distal prosthetic part with respect to the element for receiving. The absorbing system absorbs the flexion or extension efforts and is connected to the distal prosthetic part and to one of a rod or a lever that is pivotally fitted on the distal prosthetic device. The rod is mounted to the lever and to the support part.
