Measurement and ordering system for orthotic devices
A system and method are provided for electronically capturing a subject's anatomy comprising an electronic device with a camera, display screen, and end-user software program to interface with the user. The software program tracks a target placed in view area, and gives visual feedback to the user based on target tracking. The software program includes criteria represented visually, via audio feedback, or haptic feedback, to the user indicating how to position the camera relative to the anatomy. The end-user software program may have means to automatically capture anatomy on the electronic device based on the criteria being met. The end-user software program may have means to electronically transmit the anatomical information to a remote location where said information can be used to build a custom orthotic device. The system may also have the means to detect and distinguish anatomic contours from other objects in the view area.
PROSTHETIC FINGERTIP END EFFECTORS
A prosthetic finger includes a main body and a terminal gripper at an end of the main body for enabling fine-motor grasping skills. The terminal gripper has at least two tongs movable relative to one another. The prosthetic finger includes a gripping mode and a flexion mode. In the gripping mode, the tongs of the terminal gripper are able to move relative to one another while the main body is not able to flex, and in the flexion mode, the main body is able to flex while the at two tongs is not able to move relative to one another.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MAKING A BREAST PROSTHESIS
Mould assembly for injection moulding a personalised hollow breast prosthesis, wherein the mould assembly comprises: a front mould being a female mould of a front side of a patients breast and comprising a first mould surface, a rear mould being a female mould of a patients mastectomized chest and comprising a second mould surface, a mould core comprising a mould core main body being a scaled positive mould of a combination of the patients breast and the patients mastectomized chest, wherein the mould core is smaller than the combination, a support configured to support the mould core main body in an assembled state of the mould assembly, wherein an injection opening is defined by any of the front mould, the rear mould, and the mould core, and wherein in the assembled state the mould core is located between the front mould and the rear mould in order for a mould core surface to be located at a distance from the first mould surface and the second mould surface, wherein in the assembled state an inner volume is defined by the front mould, the rear mould and mould core and is configured to be filled with an injection moulding material.
Ventilated prosthetic socket and kit for making the same
A ventilated prosthetic socket includes a rigid, structural and load-bearing socket body forming an inner volume adapted to receive a residual limb, and a wall thickness extending from an inner wall surface bordering the inner volume to an outer wall surface. The socket body defines an opening extending through the wall thickness. At least one vent element communicates the inner wall surface to the outer wall surface and extending therebetween in the opening along the socket body to thereby permit a transfer of air from the inner volume to outside of the socket through the opening. The at least one vent element is separately formed from the socket body and discretely insertable into the opening and secured against the inner surface and the outer wall surface. A method and kit are provided to adapt the socket in a ventilated form.
Knit Prosthetic Liner Textile With Differentiated Knit Fabric Exterior
A prosthetic liner for use with a prosthetic assembly that acts as the interface between the residual limb of an amputee and the socket assembly. The prosthetic liner comprises an outer textile with variable stretch characteristics due to the knit construction and stitching and an interior gel layer. The distal region of the liner textile has less stretch than does the intermediate region or proximal region and is stitched together to form a unitary liner. The liner advantageously minimizes a condition referred to as pistoning wherein the distal most portion of the residual limb ascends and descends in the lower portion of the socket creating an unhealthy condition for the residual limb.
Multi-grasp prosthetic hand
The present invention provides a prosthetic hand capable of multiple grasp types. The prosthetic finger units are underactuated both within and between the finger units using a differential mechanism arrangement. The locking movement of the prosthetic thumb unit is coupled to the differential mechanism. As the user repositions the prosthetic thumb unit, the differential mechanism is effected as to alter both the initial positions and force distribution of the prosthetic finger units. The present invention further provides an additive manufacturing molding method for making the same.
Dynamic support apparatus and system
A dynamic support system includes a control system for controlling inflation and deflation of at least one actuator having an inlet connectable to the a control unit of the dynamic support system. The control unit may be in communication with a sensor and may control inflation and deflation of the at least one actuator in response to information provided by the sensor.
