Method and device for ordering a custom orthopedic device
A method and device for digital measuring and ordering a custom orthopedic device includes an interactive method intended to assist clinicians select, measure and submit precise specifications for patients requiring custom orthopedic devices. The method includes a plurality of menus permitting the clinician to input specifications and submit orders electronically with the specifications and other data packaged together. The method and device include visualization indications to appropriately ensure image capture of a limb from various angles, including posterior, anterior, lateral and medial angles.
Shower-safe base foot
An apparatus includes a detachable foot and a connector for detachably connecting a prosthetic limb socket to the detachable foot. The connector includes a proximal connector detachably connected to the prosthetic limb socket. The proximal connector has a proximal portion of a locking mechanism. There is also a distal connector detachably connected to the detachable foot. The distal connector includes a distal portion of the locking mechanism. The proximal portion of the locking mechanism and the distal portion of the locking mechanism are detachably connecting the proximal connector to the distal connector.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE AND CONDUCTOR FOR SUCH A DEVICE
An orthopedic device with a base body made of an electrically insulating material and at least one electric conductor which is arranged on or in the base body. The at least one conductor comprises a core made of an electrically conductive elastomer and an electrically insulating coating.
Method of assembling artificial electronic skin
High resolution active matrix nanowire circuits enable a flexible platform for artificial electronic skin having pressure sensing capability. Comb-like interdigitated nanostructures extending vertically from a pair of opposing, flexible assemblies facilitate pressure sensing via changes in resistance caused by varying the extent of contact among the interdigitated nanostructures. Electrically isolated arrays of vertically extending, electrically conductive nanowires or nanofins are formed from a doped, electrically conductive layer, each of the arrays being electrically connected to a transistor in an array of transistors. The nanowires or nanofins are interdigitated with further electrically conductive nanowires or nanofins mounted to a flexible handle.
Foot prosthesis
A foot prosthesis having a lower-leg connection part, a foot part, a connecting element with a joint function which connects the lower-leg connection part to the foot part, and a release device, which controls movement of the foot part in relation to the lower-leg connection part. The release device includes an inhibiting device that is designed in such a way that a dorsal extension motion of the foot part in relation to the lower-leg connection part in an angular range from a maximal plantar flexion position to a zero position is inhibited less intensely than a dorsal extension motion of the foot part from the zero position.
Dynamic support apparatus and system
A dynamic support system includes a control system for controlling inflation and deflation of at least one actuator having an inlet connectable to the a control unit of the dynamic support system. The control unit may be in communication with a sensor and may control inflation and deflation of the at least one actuator in response to information provided by the sensor.
ARTIFICIAL MUSCLE ACTUATOR TETHERING LOOPS
A method of manufacturing an artificial muscle fiber device includes: tethering an artificial muscle fiber around one or more shape-setting pieces; annealing the artificial muscle fiber so that the artificial muscle fiber will retain specific shapes established by the shape-setting pieces; and removing the shape-setting pieces from the artificial muscle fiber.
PASSIVELY COOLED AND VOLUME ADJUSTABLE TRANSTIBIAL SOCKET
A transtibial socket for a prosthetic lower limb includes a mesh arranged between rigid struts. The mesh includes a plurality of support members and a plurality of tensile members, optionally in combination with spacer members arranged between different support members. At least one tensioning member coupled with the tensile member extends through of past guides in the struts to an adjustable tensioning apparatus that is configured to allow the mesh to be constricted radially by the amputee-user. The mesh allows for the heat dissipation and volume adjustment, while increasing contact area and force distribution around a residual limb.
METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR THE FABRICATION OF MATERIALS AND TISSUES UTILIZING ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION
The present invention provides a three-dimensional bioprinter for fabricating cellular constructs such as tissues and organs using electromagnetic radiation (EMR) at or above 405 nm. The bioprinter includes a material deposition device comprising a cartridge for receiving and holding a composition which contains biomaterial that cures after exposure to EMR. The bioprinter also includes an EMR module that emits EMR at a wavelength of about 405 nm or higher. Also provided is a bioprinter cartridge which contains cells and a material curable at a wavelength of about 405 nm or greater. The cells are present in a chamber and are extruded through an orifice to form the cellular construct.
EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING
The present disclosure relates to equipment and a method for additive manufacturing, comprising an orientable energy excitation means for generating intermittent interaction with a fluid covering a blade in order to trigger a jet oriented in the direction of a target, the fluid consisting of a liquid vector containing inhomogeneities, wherein: the fluid forms a liquid film of a thickness measuring less than 500 m on a blade having at least one area allowing the interaction with the laser, into which at least one inlet leads, the interaction area leading into at least one outlet, the equipment also comprising means for the circulation of the fluid between the inlet and the outlet.
