Provided is a fluorine-containing ether compound represented by general formula: R.sup.1R.sup.2OR.sup.3R.sup.4 wherein R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3, CH.sub.2F, CHF.sub.2, CH.sub.2I, or CHFI; R.sup.2 is a fluorinated alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms consisting of unit represented by CHF, a fluorinated alkylene group having 2 to 10 carbon atoms consisting of unit represented by CHF and unit represented by CH.sub.2, or a fluorine-containing alkylene group having 3 to 10 carbon atoms consisting of unit represented by CFH, unit represented by CH.sub.2, and unit represented by CHI; R.sup.3 is single bond, a non-fluorinated alkylene group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or a fluorinated alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; and R.sup.4 is CH.sub.3, CH.sub.2F, or CHF.sub.2.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a perfluorodialkyl ether, comprising the steps of: (A) preparing a perfluorodialkyl ether from a compound represented by Formula 1 in the presence of a metal fluoride; and (B) isolating the perfluorodialkyl ether, and to an apparatus for preparing perfluorodialkyl ether, comprising: a reactor for preparing a perfluorodialkyl ether from a compound represented by Formula 1 in the presence of a metal fluoride; a reactant supplier for introducing the compound represented by Formula 1 into the reactor; and a discharge unit for discharging the perfluorodialkyl ether from the upper portion of the reactor.
