Underactuated prosthetic hand
Underactuated prosthetic hand including base body; first and second prosthetic fingers each hinged to the base body; first control cable; actuator to move the first control cable; and for each pair of fingers second control cable having control ends associated with the first and second fingers; and transmission block to allow first control cable to control second control cable; transmission block includes guide integral with base body and defining sliding axis; movable element sliding along guide; first pulley for sliding first control cable hinged to movable element and second pulley for sliding second control cable hinged to the movable element so actuator, when moving first cable, determines moveable element translational movement to displace second control cable and the fingers; and elastic means opposing moveable element translational movement so the moveable element translational movement opposes elastic means allowing them to facilitate return to moveable element initial position.
UPPER EXTREMITY PROSTHETIC WITH ENERGY RETURN SYSTEM
An upper-extremity prosthetic is adapted to engage with an athletic ball. The prosthetic includes one or more springs that provide energy return as a user is throwing the ball using the prosthetic. The springs can have a conductivity that changes in relation to an amount of strain or deformation of the spring. The change in conductivity can be used to provide haptic feedback to the user so the user can sense the amount of force being applied to throw the ball. In some embodiments, the springs are made by a multi-material 3D printing (additive manufacturing) process and include a first material that is electrically non-conductive and a second material that electrically conductive. In some embodiments, the prosthetic also includes one or more cantilevered springs that are also adapted to engage with the ball and to provide energy return while throwing the ball.
PROSTHETIC DEVICE
The invention relates to a prosthetic device for a lower extremity having a prosthetic knee joint having: an upper part, on which a proximal prosthetic component is arranged; a lower part, which is connected to the upper part so as to be pivotable about a knee joint axis; and a distal prosthetic component, on which a prosthetic foot is formed or can be attached, wherein the distal prosthetic component is mounted so as to be displaceable in the direction of the knee joint axis by means of an axial force acting in the longitudinal extent of the distal prosthetic component and a force transmission device is associated with the knee joint, which force transmission device, during the standing phase, converts a displacement or length change of the distal prosthetic component in the direction of the knee joint axis into a flexion moment about the knee joint axis.
HYDRAULIC DAMPER AND INTELLIGENT PROSTHETICS
A hydraulic damper and an intelligent prosthetics. The hydraulic damper includes a housing, a piston, a piston rod, and a damping adjustment component; an energy storage chamber and a damping chamber loaded with hydraulic fluid are arranged inside the housing; the piston is movably provided in the damping chamber and separates the damping chamber into first chamber and second chamber, the energy storage chamber is closer to the second chamber; the piston rod is inserted into the first chamber, one end of the piston rod is connected to the piston, another end of the piston rod penetrates through one end of the housing away from the energy storage chamber; and the damping adjustment component is connected to the first chamber, the second chamber, and the energy storage chamber, respectively, to adjust resistance of movement of the piston, thereby reducing sealing difficulty and weight of the hydraulic damper.
Prosthetic Wrist
A prosthetic wrist for terminal devices preserves free rotation under high rotational or axial loads.
Prosthetic having interchangeable internal cartridges
A voluntary closing and locking prosthetic terminal device (1) having complex internal mechanisms configured into interchangeable cartridges (10) that provide end users with the capability of servicing the prosthetic on their own.
Robust Adaptable Foot Prosthesis
A device is provided to allow adaptation of a prosthetic or robotic foot in the medial-lateral direction, including pronation and supination of the foot using a series of articulations. Articulations are permitted in the disclosed device due to linkage systems positioned at various locations of the prosthetic foot. In particular, the device includes multiple connected linkage systems each including upper and lower portions with an articulating contact surface designed for load carriage and stability. The point of contact between the contact surfaces of each linkage system comprises the position-dependent instantaneous center of rotation of the upper portion with respect to the lower portion. The device also includes a platform coupled between the linkage systems and a base.
TRACTION SYSTEM FOR AN AMBULATORY SUPPORT
A traction system for an ambulatory support such as a prosthetic foot blade or a crutch includes a sole plate, a latch assembly, and a strap. The sole plate is couplable to a distal end of the ambulatory support to extend under a bottom side of the ambulatory support and a latch assembly. The latch assembly includes a front catch and a rear catch both fixable at a top side of the ambulatory support with the front catch nearer to the distal end of the ambulatory support than the rear catch, and a lever having a front end and a rear end, the front end releasably latchable to the front catch and the rear end releasably latchable to the rear catch when the lever is pivoted about the latched front end. The strap is secured to the lever and to the sole plate.
Torque measuring spring for a prosthetic drive
An improvement to a prosthetic device which provides a spring member between first and second structural members that are rotatably connected to one another, the spring member providing predictable resistance as it is compressed by the rotation of the first and second structural members with respect to each other. The known resistance of the spring is used as an input to a model controlling a motor control circuit to provide counter-torque as rotational torque is applied to compress the spring.
Prosthetic digit for use with touchscreen devices
A digit for a prosthetic hand is provided. The digit has a base member (12) attachable to the hand and at least one digit member (18) pivotably connected to the base member. The at least one digit member (18) has a digit tip (22) remote from the base member (12), and the digit member is at least partially covered with at least one conductive substance (26,40) which defines a conductive path which leads from the digit tip towards the base member. A method of manufacturing such a digit is also provided.
