Preparation of silylamines by the dehydrogeative coupling of N—H and Si—H bonds
The present invention describes chemical systems and methods for silylating NH bonds of aliphatic amines, said system or method comprising or consisting essentially of a mixture of (a) at least one organosilane and (b) at least one hydroxide, especially KOH, said system being preferably, but not necessarily substantially free of a transition-metal compound, and said methods comprising contacting a quantity of the organic substrate with a mixture of (a) at least one organosilane and (b) at least one strong base, under conditions sufficient to replace an NH bond with a silyl NSi bond.
SILYLATION OF AROMATIC HETEROCYCLES BY EARTH ABUNDANT TRANSITION-METAL-FREE CATALYSTS
The present invention describes chemical systems and methods for silylating aromatic organic substrates, said system or method comprising or consisting essentially of a mixture of (a) at least one organosilane and (b) at least one strong base, the definition of strong base now also including hydroxide, especially KOH, said system being preferably, but not necessarily substantially free of a transition-metal compound, and said methods comprising contacting a quantity of the organic substrate with a mixture of (a) at least one organosilane and (b) at least one strong base, under conditions sufficient to silylate the aromatic substrate.
Cyclic aza-sila compounds as insect repellants
The invention relates to aza-sila compounds of Formula (I), useful as insect repellants. wherein, A is selected from the group consisting of branched or unbranched (C I-CI 2) alkyl, branched or unbranched (CI-CI 2) alkynyl; and substituted or unsubstituted 4 to 6 membered acyclic saturated or unsaturated compounds, wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of halogen, hydrogen, (CI-C6) alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl and heterocyclic; or A is independently selected from the group consisting of the following moiety: Formula (II) wherein, X and Y are identical or different and independently selected from the group consisting of C, N, O, and S; where R1, R2, R3, and R4 are identical or different and are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, halogen, linear or branched (C1-C6) alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl, hydroxyl, and heterocyclic; and wherein, the halogen is selected from the group consisting of CI, I, Br, and F. The invention further discloses a process for the preparation of the compounds of Formula (I). ##STR00001##
Higly dispersible silica for using in rubber
The present invention relates to highly disperse precipitated silicas which exhibit an extremely high level of reinforcement of rubber vulcanizates, to a process for their preparation, and to their use as filler for rubber mixtures.
