Visible-light photoinitiators and uses thereof
Described herein are acyl germanium photoinitiator for cost-effective and time-efficient method for producing UV-absorbing contact lenses capable of blocking ultra-violet (UV) radiation and optionally (but preferably) violet radiation with wavelengths from 380 nm to 440 nm, thereby protecting eyes to some extent from damages caused by UV radiation and potentially from violet radiation. This invention also provides a method for making UV-absorbing contact lenses made by using an acyl germanium photoinitiator of the invention.

Prodrugs of vitamin K
The disclosure relates to prodrugs of vitamin K2, in particular prodrugs of MK-7 in which the diketone is converted to a monosubstituted or disubstituted ester type derivative. These compounds are shown to give MK-7 in plasma. The disclosure also relates to methods of treating conditions using prodrugs of vitamin K2.

Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions that include the subject transporter compounds, where the transporter can be joined to a cargo of interest, and is formulated with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. Formulations may be provided in a unit dose, where the dose provides an amount of the compound effective to afford a desired therapeutic effect. Methods of using the subject transporter compounds to deliver a cargo moiety to a cell are provided, where the method can include contacting a target cell with the transporter compound. The subject methods can be performed in vitro or in vivo.
