Personal Augmentation Suit and Method for Assisted Human Motion with Back Differential Assembly

A human motion assistance device has upper back straps and is configured to attach to a user. A leg strap arrangement with lower back straps is configured to attach to the user. A differential assembly is connected between the upper back straps and lower back straps to reduce resistance of the upper torso harness and leg strap arrangement during gait. When crouching or lifting, the differential assembly transfers force to stretch and retract the upper torso harness and leg strap arrangement, which provides human motion assistance. The differential assembly can be implements as an x-bar, lever arm, pulley, gears, or tube. The leg strap arrangement has a knee pad adapted to cover a knee of the user. The knee pad opens along a segment. The upper torso harness has a shoulder strap and buckle. The leg strap arrangement is an elastic material.

WEARABLE AUTOTENSIONING DEVICE

An apparatus for automatically adjusting tension on a retention member and thereby applying compression or other forces to an object. Sensors may be used to sense changes associated with the object involved or the environment, and an actuator may be included that automatically rotates a rotating member such as a gear or pulley to automatically adjust tension on the retention member. The adjustments in tension may be made performed automatically and many times per second based on control signals from control logic responsive to the sensors.

HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICE FOR EXOSKELETON APPARATUS

A human interface device is configured to be coupled to a trunk of a person and comprises a frame, a fabric coupled to said frame configurable to be under tensile forces, and a belt configured to be coupled to two side edges of said frame wherein when said belt is worn by said person, an area of said fabric will be pushed against the person’s lower back conforming to the shape of the lower back of said person. In operation when said human interface device is worn by said person, the weight of any load coupled to or supported by said frame will be partially supported by the friction force between the area of said fabric which is pushed against the person’s lower back, and the person’s lower back allowing said person to carry said load.

Hip orthotic with a removable rigid brace assembly
11684504 · 2023-06-27 ·

A hip joint orthotic that can be used in stages. In the first stage the orthotic includes a stiff relatively brace assembly that can limit the amount of allowed flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction. In the second stage the relatively stiff brace can be removed and the orthotic can be used as a soft wrap. In both stages the orthotic is configured to easily mount and retain a thermal pack in a desired position or positions. In many instances the thermal pack will be a cold pack, but in some cases a hot pack may be used as well.

Temporary cast devices comprising artificial muscles

A temporary cast that includes an exterior shell, a lining body including an inner layer, one or more integrated pressure sensors communicatively coupled to a controller, and a plurality of artificial muscles disposed between the inner layer and the exterior shell. Each of the plurality of artificial muscles is communicatively coupled to the controller and includes a housing including an electrode region and an expandable fluid region, a dielectric fluid housed within the housing, and an electrode pair positioned in the electrode region of the housing. The electrode pair includes a first electrode fixed to a first surface of the housing and a second electrode fixed to a second surface of the housing, where the electrode pair is actuatable between a non-actuated and actuated states such that actuation from the non-actuated state to the actuated state directs the dielectric fluid into the expandable fluid region, expanding the expandable fluid region.

Ankle-foot orthosis

An inventive ankle-foot orthosis which transfers a portion of a wearer's weight normally applied to a wearer's foot and ankle to a wearer's calf thereby removing weight bearing stress from the wearer's foot and ankle.

DEVICE FOR NEURO-ORTHOPEDIC REHABILITATION
20170354525 · 2017-12-14 ·

The invention relates to the field of medicine, specifically to neurology, and more specifically to devices for therapeutic gymnastics. A device consists of a combination of a loading system and an unloading system. Covers/pockets for pneumatic chambers of the unloading system are positioned longitudinally, in pairs and continuously, along a front surface and a rear surface of a load-bearing membrane. Support elements of a knee brace, made of two front portions and of two rear portions, interconnected by means of straps, are positioned in five sub-levels, wherein the two front portions of the brace are connected at the centers thereof by means of a linking component which is provided with an additional cushioning layer and with a half-ring in the center thereof, said half-ring serving for securing and changing the trajectories of elastic tensile components. A foot brace is removable and contains one longitudinal strap under the foot and three transverse straps which are connected to the longitudinal strap.

DYNAMICALLY DEPENDENT MOVEMENT BLOCKING SYSTEM

A dynamically dependent blocking system for orthoses or protectors for limiting relative movements of at least two body segments consisting of at least one blocking unit having a blocking element, an extending element and the body attachment structures, and worn on the body. The central element of the blocking unit is the blocking element.

Locking device and motion assistance apparatus including the same

A locking device including a first frame including an insert hole and a first magnetic body, a second frame including an insert recess communicating with the insert hole, and a second magnetic body disposed to face the first magnetic body with a polarity opposite to a polarity of the first magnetic body, and an insert member including a slider inserted into the insert hole and configured to slide relative to the first frame, and a third magnetic body disposed on one side of the slider is provided.

Orthopedic device

An orthopedic system includes an orthopedic device having ankle and foot receiving portions and defining a posterior aspect and an anterior aspect opposite the posterior aspect. A stability part positioned on the posterior aspect of the orthopedic device and sized and configured to avoid disruption of a gait of a patient wearing the orthopedic device. The stability part protrudes from the posterior aspect and defines an axis extending in a transverse direction across a width of the orthopedic device and at least one point of rotation about which the orthopedic device is rotatable along the axis. The at least one point of rotation is selectively positioned along the axis so that when the posterior aspect of the orthopedic device is resting on a resting surface the stability part stabilizes the orthopedic device against rotation on the resting surface about the at least one point of rotation.
