Lower Extremity Isolating Leg Brace
A leg brace isolates a lower extremity of a leg to which the brace is secured. The leg brace includes an upper leg cuff and a lower leg cuff. Two upper struts are attached to opposite sides of the upper leg cuff and extend along the upper leg cuff. Two lower struts are attached to opposite sides of the lower leg cuff and extend along the lower leg cuff. One hinge pivotally connects one upper strut and one lower strut and a second hinge pivotally connects the other upper strut and the other lower strut. The hinges can be configured to have a limited and/or selectable degree of rotation (e.g., flexion and/or extension). Bottom ends of the lower struts extend beyond a user's foot of the leg to which the leg brace is attached. A foot is attached to each bottom end of the lower struts.
ORTHOPEDIC BRACING SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE
A modular orthopedic bracing system is provided. The orthopedic bracing system includes a walking boot configured to cover at least the plantar aspect of the user's foot, a support detachably connectable to the walking boot and configured to suspend the weight of the user and an ankle-foot orthosis (“AFO”) detachably connectable to the walking boot. Also disclosed is a method for supporting an injured lower extremity, which includes the steps of attaching a first support member to the patient's leg, providing a second support member for an area at or beneath the foot and posterior portion of the lower leg, providing a first upward force on the patient's leg with the first support member, providing a second upward force on the foot with the second support member. By adjusting the amounts of the first upward force and the second upward force, the foot and lower leg, supported by the AFO, may be fully suspended, partially suspended or rest completely on the foot bed of the walking boot.
Ankle-foot orthosis
An inventive ankle-foot orthosis which transfers a portion of a wearer's weight normally applied to a wearer's foot and ankle to a wearer's calf thereby removing weight bearing stress from the wearer's foot and ankle.
Swing walker
A suspension walker which may be weighted or unweighted is provided. The suspension walker includes a sole plate having a rocker bottom, a yoke portion and an extension leg attached to the yoke portion. A boot received by a patient's foot is operably coupled to the yoke portion by a first fastener and to an upper portion of the extension leg by a second fastener. An extension leg may be operably coupled at a hinge axis to an upper hinged portion. The hinge axis is configured to be aligned with the knee. A below the knee collar operably and securely couples the boot to the extension leg and the yoke portion. An above the knee collar operably secures the upper hinged portion to the patient's thigh.
Off-load high leg-foot brace
A brace includes a bottom having a sole made of a soft material with a tread intended to come in contact with the ground, and a stiffening plate fixed on the sole. A rigid body is provided having a base plate removably connected to the stiffening plate. A monolithic upper is removably connected to the body, and at least one intermediate sole made of a soft material is disposed on the base plate of the body.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic system includes an orthopedic device having ankle and foot receiving portions and defining a posterior aspect and an anterior aspect opposite the posterior aspect. A stability part positioned on the posterior aspect of the orthopedic device and sized and configured to avoid disruption of a gait of a patient wearing the orthopedic device. The stability part protrudes from the posterior aspect and defines an axis extending in a transverse direction across a width of the orthopedic device and at least one point of rotation about which the orthopedic device is rotatable along the axis. The at least one point of rotation is selectively positioned along the axis so that when the posterior aspect of the orthopedic device is resting on a resting surface the stability part stabilizes the orthopedic device against rotation on the resting surface about the at least one point of rotation.
Orthopedic device
An orthopedic system includes an orthopedic device defining a posterior aspect, an anterior aspect opposite the posterior aspect, and a structure at least in part defining a receiving space arranged to receive an activity tracking device. An activity tracking device is positionable and securable in the receiving space of the orthopedic device. The activity tracking device is arranged to generate information associated with activity level or compliance of a patient wearing the orthopedic device during treatment.
Weight-bearing lower extremity brace
The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to a device and/or system (e.g., redistributing weight away from a subject's foot), which may comprise (a) a platform, (b) at least one vertical support fixed to the platform and extending upwardly from the platform, and (c) at least one cuff (i) configured to surround and releasably grip at least a portion of a subject's leg other than the foot and (ii) mounted (e.g., adjustably) to the at least one vertical support at a vertical position along the at least one vertical support sufficient to suspend a subject's foot in a non-weight-bearing position above the platform during ambulation, wherein the platform, the at least one vertical support, and the at least one cuff together are configured to bear at least the subject's full weight.
Walking boot, chafe assembly, protective rim for a push-button release valve and related methods
A walking brace is provided. The walking brace includes a U-shaped malleable stay configured to hold a manually-bent shape. The walking brace includes an integral portion. The integral portion includes a footbed, a first upright disposed at a first side of the footbed and a second upright disposed on a second side of the footbed. The integral portion is overmolded onto the U-shaped malleable stay such that the U-shaped malleable stay extends through each of the footbed, the first upright and the second upright. Other walking braces are provided wherein the integral portion includes a pocket configured to receive the U-shaped malleable stay at an underside of the integral portion such that the U-shaped malleable stay extends through each of the footbed, the first upright and the second upright. A method of manufacturing a walking brace is also provided.
EXTERNAL ANKLE BRACE
An external ankle brace for restricting movement of an ankle in a first direction and permitting movement of the ankle in a second direction includes a rigid heel enclosure having a rear portion and a forward portion. A lateral upright extension is perpendicular to the rigid heel enclosure and is attached to the lateral sidewall. A medial upright extension is perpendicular to the rigid heel enclosure and is attached to the medial sidewall. At least a chosen one of the lateral and medial upright extensions is selectively pivotally attached to a corresponding lateral or medial sidewall and includes a pivot prevention feature configured to selectively prevent pivoting of the chosen one of the lateral and medial upright extensions with respect to the corresponding lateral or medial sidewall.
