A scoliosis activity suit includes a body-wrapping portion and a correction portion. The correction portion has a front segment, a rear segment, a shoulder-pulling segment, a chest-pressing segment, a pelvis-lifting segment, and a upper trapezius pressing segment. The shoulder-pulling segment, the chest-pressing segment, the pelvis-lifting segment, and the upper trapezius pressing segment are formed on a front side of the body-wrapping portion and extend to the rear segment of the correction portion. To users with scoliosis, the correction portion generates a 3D compression force on different portions of the spine of the user, such that a backward pulling force against a protracted portion of the shoulder, an uplifting force against an inclined portion of the pelvis, and a pulling force against portions with spinal sidebend can be provided. Besides, being lightweight and easy for users to wear, the suit fulfills practice of daily life adjustment and correction for scoliosis.

IMPACT GUARD FOR KNEE BRACE

An apparatus that includes a composite fuselage and motion control system designed to protect the human leg from knee pain and muscular fatigue created by repetitive vertical movement or extended periods of squatting. Fuselage panels and frame encapsulate the leg and functionally integrate with hard shell boots to create a rigid exoskeleton structure that resists radial displacement of the knee or ankle. The fuselage open clamshell leg harness utilizes wide composite body panels that disperse pressure across a large surface area, allowing the harness to provide body mass support and device securement without restriction of the body's circulatory system.

Nasal dilator with means to direct resilient properties
09901480 · 2018-02-27 · ·

A nasal dilator comprises a laminate of vertical layers each consisting of one or more members or components. The laminated layers form a unitary, or single body, truss featuring horizontal regions adapted to engage outer wall tissues of first and second nasal passages and to traverse the bridge of a nose therebetween. When in use the dilator acts to stabilize and/or expand the nasal outer wall tissues and prevent said tissues from drawing inward during breathing. The dilator includes means to direct its resilient properties comprising one or more interior or exterior material separations, or discontinuity of shape of material, formed in at least one region of the truss and extending through at least one layer of the dilator. Said material separation or discontinuity of shape may comprise an opening, relief cut, slit or notch, and which may be configured to separate or vertically protrude, in part, from the truss when the dilator is in use on the nose of a wearer. Said separation or vertical protrusion changes the angle of focused delaminating spring biasing forces generated by the resilient layer, transforming said forces, at least in part, from primarily peel forces into primarily shear forces, and further redistributing or imparting said transformed forces to tissue engaging surface areas extending outward and beyond said material separation.

ADAPTIVE THREE-DIMENSIONAL ORTHOSES AND METHODS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE AND USE

A conformable body interface is fabricated using a data set representing a three-dimensional, soft tissue body surface. The conformable body interface includes a body scaffold that is divided into two or more longitudinal segments separated by axial joints. Optionally, the body scaffold is further divided into two or more circumferentially split segments separated by circumferential joints. The axial joints are circumferentially constrained by elastic bands, tabs, or similar structures and the circumferential joints are longitudinally constrained by elastic axial tethers or similar structures. In this way, the body interfaces can accommodate swelling and bending of the body surface.
