Orthotic devices for providing arch support for the foot are disclosed. The orthotic device includes a base member, an arch support portion, and a covering for coupling the arch support portion to the base member. A method of providing continuous contact with the plantar surface of the foot during all phases of the gait cycle is also disclosed. In addition, methods of assembling and using the orthotic device are also disclosed.

A toe correction apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The toe correction apparatus includes: a first sensor attachable to a first side of a hallux proximate to a second toe for measuring first pressure information between the hallux and the second toe; and a processor, configured to determine a degree to which the hallux bends to the second toe according to the first pressure information, and control an inflation amount or a deflation amount of an adjustable airbag between the hallux and the second toe according to the degree to which the hallux bends to the second toe.

A toe correction apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The toe correction apparatus includes: a first sensor attachable to a first side of a hallux proximate to a second toe for measuring first pressure information between the hallux and the second toe; and a processor, configured to determine a degree to which the hallux bends to the second toe according to the first pressure information, and control an inflation amount or a deflation amount of an adjustable airbag between the hallux and the second toe according to the degree to which the hallux bends to the second toe.

A smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized, wherein the smartphone device is configured to actively control the configuration of one or more bladders, compartments, chambers or internal sipes and one or more sensors located in either one or both of a sole or a removable inner sole insert of the footwear of the user and/or located in an apparatus worn or carried by the user, glued unto the user, or implanted in the user. A smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized, wherein the smartphone device is configured to actively control the configuration of one or more bladders, compartments, chambers or internal sipes and one or more sensors located in either one or both of a sole or a removable inner sole insert of the footwear of the user and/or located in an apparatus worn or carried by the user, glued unto the user, or implanted in the user. The one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, or sipes, and one or more sensors are configured for computer control. A sole and/or a removable inner sole insert for footwear, including one or more bladders, compartments, chambers, internal sipes and sensors in the sole and/or in a removable insert; or on an insole; all being configured for control by a smartphone or other mobile computer device, general purpose or specialized.

The ankle foot orthosis has a foot section securable externally to a footwear worn by a user, a leg section having a leg engagement portion extending in front of the user's lower leg and being securable against a shin area of the user's lower leg, and two arm portions extending downwardly from the leg engagement portion, on opposite sides of the user's lower leg, and a hinge section having two hinge members disposed on opposite sides of the user's ankle, each hinge member having two ends being elastically stretchable away from one another, with a first one of the ends being secured to a corresponding one of the leg arm portions, and a second one of the two ends being secured to the foot section, with a spacing between the hinge members and the arm portions forming a foot engagement path allowing the user to respectively engage or disengage his foot from the footwear across the spacing.

A flat foot orthosis has two bodies and a pelvis portion. Each one of the two bodies has a wearing space, a foot portion, an ankle portion, a shank portion, a knee portion, a thigh portion, a toe portion, a hallux valgus region, a substrate, a first elastomer, and a second elastomer. The substrate and the first elastomer are disposed adjacent to each other, and surround the wearing space. The substrate extends from the toe portion to the thigh portion. The first elastomer spirally extends from an instep of the foot portion to the thigh portion through the rest. The two first elastomers surround and fetter where the wearer's pelvis and the wearer's waist meet. The second elastomer extends from the hallux sheath, is connected to the first elastomer, and wraps over the hallux valgus region.

A device for protecting a plantar pad of a foot, including: a pad including a viscoelastic material, configured to be held on the skin of the plantar region, and to cover all the metatarsal heads and metatarsophalangeal joints of the foot, and an elastic strap attached to lateral edges of the pad, and including a transverse and a longitudinal portion forming a brace configured to pass between a big toe and an adjacent toe, the longitudinal portion having a distal edge fixed to a distal edge of the pad, the transverse portion having a distal edge delimiting, with the pad and a lateral edge of the longitudinal portion, an aperture for the passage of the second to fifth toes, the distal edge of the transverse portion and the lateral edge having, in a unstretched flat state, rectilinear portions forming between them an angle between 75 and 100°.
