CAVITY CONTOUR PILLOW
A pillow can include a head support surface configured to support at least a portion of a person's head, a first support having a first support surface with a first apex disposed at a first height a second support having a second support surface with a second apex disposed at a second height, and a third support having a third support surface with a third apex disposed at a third height. The support surfaces can support at least a portion of a person's neck when at least a portion of their head is in contact with the head support surface. One or more of the heights can differ from one or more other heights. A pillow can include one or more openings and one or more inserts configured to be disposed therein.
Stabilization system
A stabilization system configured to be arranged on a floor comprising a table having generally flat surface having a longitudinal axis for receiving a human body having a first hole, a second hole, and third hole within the flat surface, each hole having a hole shape with a generally vertical inner surface and configured to receive a bolster connector, a bolster comprising a bolster connector having an outer shape corresponding to the hole shape, the bolster connector configured to be reversibly engaged by one of the holes, a generally flat surface generally perpendicular to the table surface when the bolster connector is engaged by one of the holes.
Positioning Device for Beam Radiation Treatment and Imaging
A system and method are disclosed for a patient positioning device for beam radiation therapy and radiological imaging. The system includes a base and a patient support surface coupled to the base, and the patient support surface includes a lower patient support hingedly coupled to the base and an upper support hingedly coupled to the lower patient support. The system also includes a substantially flat hinge that forms a continuous upper surface with an upper support surface of the lower patient support and the lower patient support.
Head and neck support apparatus
A neck support apparatus has a frame with a pair of risers spaced apart from each other and each having a bottom end and a top end. The frame is positioned on the back of a wearer. A harness maintains the frame in position. A flexible panel spans between the two risers. The shape of the two risers, the initial tautness of the flexible panel, and the material of the flexible panel, and other factors, contribute to the shape of the support surface that the flexible surface presents to the head and neck of a wearer of the apparatus. The flexible panel provides support to the head and neck of a wearer when the head of the wearer is tilted back, such as when a person is doing overhead work.
Articulated Chin Rest Assembly
An articulated chin rest is assembly is provided for supporting the chin of a patient under monitored anesthesia care, sedation, general anesthesia, or other medical procedure to ensure that their airway is unobscured. The assembly may comprise a clamp adaptable to grip a variety of structures, a first and a second length of rigid material sequentially and rotatably connected to the clamp, and a chin rest finally rotatably connected to the second length of rigid material. Means for rotatably linking the clamp, first and second lengths of rigid material, and chin rest allow each element to rotate in three dimensional space so that the assembly mechanically mimics, and is ultimately usable in place of, an anesthesiologist's hand for tilting the patient's head and securely supporting the patient's chin.
A SYSTEM FOR SLEEP-DISORDERED BREATHING TREATMENT
A method for treating sleep-disordered breathing in a patient includes prior to sleeping, placing a sleep strip on a face of the patient, the sleep strip being configured to maintain lips and/or a jaw of the patient in a closed posture, and the sleep strip including a first layer comprising an adhesive configured to attach the sleep strip to the face of a patient, the first layer having an opening extending therethrough, the opening being located above the lips of the patient, and a mesh layer covering at least the opening of the first layer, the mesh layer being configured to allow air to flow therethrough; and disposing a device configured to facilitate stable breathing patterns on a face or in a mouth of the patient.
Vacuum splint apparatus for accommodating the chin of a patient and method for using the same
A particle filled neck brace is used for immobilizing the neck and chin of a patient and includes a vacuum pump disposed on the neck brace, which pump is communicated to the interior of the neck brace. After the neck brace is secured around the neck and chin of the patient, the vacuum pump is manipulated to remove air from the neck brace to form a rigid mold about the patient's neck and chin. The vacuum pump has a one way directional valve so that the neck brace remains in a rigid configuration for as long as the neck brace is applied to the patient. The neck brace also specifically forms a rigid mold over the patient's chin so as to immobilize the patient as well as to provide a comfortable fit without inducing further distracting the patient or restricting the patient's venous return blood flow.
Easy on/easy off clips or clamps for mounting mask to body part fixation device
A structure includes a first frame having a shape to fit around, or over, a body part, the first frame further comprising a first surface configured to dock with a docking surface of a second frame configured to receive and support the body part. The structure also includes a material attached to the first frame for fitting to the body part; and at least one attachment mechanism coupled to the first frame and configured to attach the first frame to the second frame when the first surface of the first frame is docked with the docking surface of the second frame, wherein the at least one attachment mechanism is configured to flex or pivot, relative to a lateral edge of the first frame, to attach the first frame to the second frame when the first surface of the first frame is docked with the docking surface of the second frame.
Pediatric child position holder and methods of using same
A pediatric position holder for holding a child in a position is provided. The pediatric position holder includes a central panel extending longitudinally from a cranial portion to a caudal portion, arm flaps extending outwardly from opposing sides of the central panel, and leg flaps extending outwardly from opposing sides of the central panel. The arm flaps each include a proximal arm segment and a distal arm segment extending from the proximal arm segment. The leg flaps each include a proximal leg segment that defines one cutout and a distal leg segment extending from the proximal leg segment. The pediatric restraint is configurable between an initial, open configuration and a second, closed configuration in which the distal arm segments of the arm flaps overlap one another, and the distal leg segment of each of the leg flaps is positioned within the cutout of the respective leg flap.
Adjustable compression garment
Compression garments may include mitts and tightening apparatus to don, or put on, such compression garments. The mitts may be configured to receive a user's hand such that the user can move one or more portions of the garments using the mitts. The tightening apparatus may allow a user to selectively tighten or loosen the garments about the user's body portions. Once donned, the compression garments may apply pressure to one or more regions of the user's body such as, e.g., arm regions, shoulder regions, torso regions, and neck regions.
