Orthopedic brace with magnetic assistance
20170196723 · 2017-07-13 ·

Apparatus for an orthopedic brace with magnetic assistance. A pair of braces are configured to each support and secure a magnetic device on each leg above the knee. The magnetic devices generate a magnetic force sufficient to reduce a spastic gait. Each magnetic device has a magnetic field that interacts with a magnetic field of the other magnetic device. The magnetic field produces a magnetic force that repels the other magnetic device as the magnetic devices move relative to each other when the wearer walks. The shape of the magnetic field is configured to aid the wearer in avoiding the legs colliding while walking. In one embodiment discrete magnets are disposed on the medial side of each brace. In another embodiment magnetic material is integral with the medial side of each brace and the magnetic material has a selected field strength curve.

A human arm support apparatus for use with a human seated, the apparatus includes a flexible planar member having a front end portion and a rear end portion; an aperture larger than a human head is therethrough the planar member with the aperture passed over the human head for the planar member to rest against a human's shoulders. Further included is a flexible surrounding sidewall affixed to the front end portion for receiving a human's arms to be supported, wherein the support comes from the rear end portion being wedged between the buttocks of the human and the seat, thus the aperture does not contact or put pressure upon the neck of the human.

Reciprocating connecting bar assembly for a clubfoot brace

An apparatus for treating clubfoot is provided that includes a pair of vertically stacked and parallel cross bars that are connected to shoe attachment member via four hinges to define a parallelogram shaped gap therebetween. As the user raises a knee, one shoe attachment member can be displaced via the hinges (primarily in the y-axis or anterior/superior plane) relative to the other shoe attachment member, while the distance between the crossbars remains constant.

The arm brace supports an injured arm during rehabilitation. The arm brace has a wrap member, an arm support member, and an arm sleeve member. The wrap member is secured around a hip and a thigh of a user. The arm support member is secured to a side of the wrap member with couplings including V straps. This configuration provides a platform structure that supports the arm sleeve that partially surrounds and protects the forearm. The arm brace does not require a shoulder strap, a neck strap for support and any other upper body supports. The brace provides a stable support structure that immobilizes the arm regardless of the position of the patient. The hand extends out from a front end of the brace so the user can perform activities such as eating, typing, and grasping.

Non-fixed shoulder brace

A non-fixed shoulder brace is provided comprising: an affected shoulder support which is supported on an affected shoulder of a wearer; a waist support coupled to the wearer's waist; an affected arm mounting part in which the wearer's affected arm is inserted and which is supported by means of an affected shoulder strap member from the affected shoulder support; and an affected upper limb exercise assistance apparatus coupled to both ends of the waist support and disposed between the wearer's waist and the affected arm mounting part.
