ASSEMBLY AND SYSTEM FOR DISTRACTOR AND/OR POSITIONER
A sterile pressure pad assembly system, kit and method uses a cage assembly comprising an enclosure and a pad assembly configured as a generally rectangular pad disposed adjacent the patient's limb near the joint to be extended and/or distended. The pad may be affixed by adhesive to the outer surface of an arcuate side and formed from suitable foam and cell structure materials that can be sterilized such as, for example, polyurethane-based foam. The enclosure of the cage assembly is configured with one or more ridges to sufficiently optimize a material strength to the arcuate side of the enclosure so as to not crush under pressure from the surgical distractor unit and/or the weight of the patient's limb of the patient when the sterile cage assembly and pad support a limb of a patient on a support bar as a surgical distractor unit positions the pad in abutment with a popliteal area of a patient's knee joint during a medical procedure.
INTRAVENOUS EXTREMITY SUPPORT
Embodiments for intravenous extremity supports for pediatric and adult patients that allow health care workers to visually assess and/or palpate an extremity during IV therapy without removing the extremity support are disclosed. Embodiments of extremity supports comprise a stabilizer and at least one window. In one embodiment, the window is a transparent portion of the stabilizer. In another embodiment, the window is an opening in the extremity support. In yet another embodiment, a window is an area of the extremity support that does not impede a health care worker's view of the lower part of an extremity.
FIXTURE FOR ARM DURING MEDICAL TREATMENT
A fixture for immobilizing an arm of a patient for insertion of a catheter for coronary investigation and intervention. The fixture comprises a fixture board for insertion under a mattress carrying a patient. The fixture board is provided with a link for attaching an arm holder to the fixture board. The arm holder arranged adjacent an elbow of the patient and comprises an arm support and a belt for attaching the arm to the arm support. In addition, a wrist holder is attached to the arm holder for supporting the wrist. The wrist holder may be sterilized and disposable. An instrument table is connected to said fixture board via a link. The distance between the arm holder and the fixture board may be adjustable.
Anterior boot for hip distraction
A surgical boot system and sleeve accessory for hip distraction. The surgical boot system includes an L-shaped rigid shell having a proximal portion and a distal portion. A soft liner is attached to the rigid shell and extends along at least one of the proximal portion and the distal portion. The surgical boot system also includes at least one strap assembly (which can be a plurality of strap assemblies) extending around the rigid shell. A load transmission hoop is connected to and extends around the distal portion of the rigid shell and an attachment point is connected to the load transmission hoop. The rigid shell is pivotable about the attachment point. Specifically, the attachment point is configured to interface with a hip distractor apparatus in a way that allows for multiple degrees of freedom.
LINGERIE
A piece of lingerie. The piece of lingerie can include a main body of the piece of lingerie, and at least one binding strap fixedly or removably coupled to the main body. When the lingerie is worn on a body of a wearer, the binding strap can include a tension anchor proximate to the body of the wearer and at least one free binding end extending distally from the tension anchor. The binding end can be connected to the main body of the piece of lingerie at or via the tension anchor. The tension anchor can be disposed at or proximate a specific anatomical location on the body of the wearer, and the binding end of the binding strap can have a length sufficient to bind at least one limb of the wearer to said limb or to another limb of the wearer.
Method and Apparatus for Applying and Controlling Surgical Traction
Apparatus is described for applying, measuring, regulating and displaying the amount of traction force applied to a patient's lower limbs during surgery, while providing for warnings and alarms should force or time limits be exceeded.
POSTURAL DEVICE FOR THE CORRECT POSITIONING OF THE LOWER LIMBS OF BEDRIDDEN PATIENTS, AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS THEREOF
Disclosed is a postural device (1) for correct position of the lower limbs (2) of bedridden patients and the corresponding industrial manufacturing process (F). The postural device (1) for the lower limbs (2) of bedridden patients has a cylindrical conformation (3) at its ends and a hemi-prismatic conformation (4) in an intermediate section, and its particular conformation is devised in order to provide a device that will enable correct posture in semi-flexion of the knees (6), which would otherwise be forcedly extended, of a bedridden patient. The knees (6) rest in a recess (P-Q-R-S) that bestows the hemi-prismatic section (4) on the device (1). The presence of the cylindrical ends (3) corrects extra-rotation of the knees (6). The device can be obtained at a handicraft level or industrially according to a given manufacturing process (F).
Positioning apparatus for biomedical use
A medical positioning apparatus for positioning and holding an object, including: a telescopic member; a support member for receiving the object; a base member securable to a base; a first and a second joint mechanism movably securing the telescopic member to the support member and the base member and each having at least two rotational degrees of freedom; a locking device operatively connected to the joint mechanisms and the telescopic member, the locking device operable between a locked position in which the configuration of the positioning apparatus is fixed, and a released position in which the configuration of the positioning apparatus may be changed, the locking device being passively biased in the locked position; and a lock activation device to unlock the locking device in order to change the configuration of the positioning apparatus.
Surgical arm positioner with sterile disposable support
An arm retainer for supporting a patient's arm at a desired position on an articulatable support assembly secured to an operating table. The arm retainer includes a rigid arm tray (11) provided with a pair of spaced openings (16) for securement of a disposable arm support liner (10) to the tray. The arm support liner (10) is comprised of a sheet of malleable material (13) with a soft engagement surface (14) for skin contact with the patient and is provided with a predetermined cut configuration for wrapping the malleable liner (10) about the patient's arm for retention of the arm therein. The line (10) has two spaced foldout tabs (17) aligned with the corresponding tray openings (16) for securing the liner to the tray (11) by folding the tabs (17) through respective of the openings (16) and thereafter against the bottom side of the tray.
POSITIONING APPARATUS FOR BIOMEDICAL USE
A medical positioning apparatus including a telescopic member extending between first and second ends and having an adjustable length; a support member for receiving an object; a base member securable to a base; a first joint mechanism movably securing the support member to the first end of the telescopic member; a second joint mechanism including a housing with a top portion directly rotationally connected to the second end of the telescopic member, and at least one side portion directly rotationally connected to the base member and movably securing the base member to the second end of the telescopic member, a locking device operatively connected to the first and second joint mechanisms and the telescopic member, the locking device operable between a locked position and a released position; and a lock activation device to unlock the locking device biased in the locked position.
