PATIENT HAND IMMOBILIZER
A hand immobilizer for use during operations on the hand of the patient to extend the fingers and permit easier access to the palm and volar fingers in order to perform procedures without the fingers flexing and obstructing the field of surgery is disclosed.
LIMB ELEVATION DEVICE WITH SECUREMENT STRAPS
A limb elevation device comprising a base having a proximal section with an angled upper surface and a distal section with a planar upper surface. The bottom surface of the distal section having one or more recesses with anchor points disposed within the one or more recesses. Securement straps may be selectively attached to the anchor points and the securement straps may be utilized to secure the limb elevation device to a table, bed, or other surface and/or to secure the patient's leg to the securement device itself.
Positioning Attachment for a Patient
A method includes positioning a patient on a surgical support structure having a fixture. The method includes attaching, to a portion of a body of the patient, a first adhesive layer on a widened pad end of a surgical restraint device. The method includes extending an elongate strap member of the surgical restraint device in a direction in which the portion of the body of the patient is to be moved relative to a remaining portion of the body using tension in the elongate strap member. The method includes attaching an attachment end of the elongate strap member to the fixture of the surgical patient support structure to maintain the moved portion of the body in tension, exposing a surgical site on the body.
Rescue device
A rescue device comprising a closed loop element made of a flexible material and first and second slidable elements mounted to the closed loop element so as to be slidable therealong while frictionally engaging the closed loop element. The first and second slidable elements each pinch the closed loop element against itself to define a pair of opposed end loop portions and an intermediate loop portion extending therebetween, the intermediate loop portion extending between the first and second slidable elements and each of the end loop portions extending from a respective one of the first and second slidable elements opposed to the intermediate loop portion.
Diaper changing apparatus
A diaper changing apparatus that restrains an infant, child, or special need individual in a way that aids the caregiver's ability to manipulate his or her position and orientation to provide access to the diaper area during diaper changing activities. The apparatus allows the caregiver to easily lift the legs and buttocks, providing access to the underside of the infant, child, or special need individual for diaper changing activities. In some embodiments, adjustments to the height of the legs and buttocks and the separation of the legs may be made during a diaper change by moving a restraint of the apparatus in the direction of the desired adjustment. Some embodiments aid a caregiver by restraining the arms, chest, or torso to prevent the infant, child, or special needs individual from interfering with the diaper change, but without immobilizing him so much that the caregiver cannot easily adjust his position.
PROTECTIVE AND EXERCISE HAND RESTRAINT SYSTEM AND APPARATUS
Embodiments disclosed herein offer protective restraint of the hand by securing it with a wrist tie to a padded transparent hard-shell hand restraint with wrist tie slots, multiple ventilation holes, a detachable flexible soft under wrap and a hinging ball-bearing style attachment point for optional attachment to a restraint arm rod and staff-directed upward displacement for enhanced access to the hand, and slots for a resistance band tie for enhanced exercise and intermediate level of restraint and a rigid tie.
ORTHOPEDIC SHOULDER BRACE
An orthopedic brace for supporting a shoulder and an arm of a patient can comprise a sleeve, a pad, a pillow, and a system of adjustable straps for positioning and securing the sleeve in a desired position for treatment. The pad can comprise a plurality of pockets for accepting hot or cold compresses therein for providing thermal therapy, and can be removable from the brace to be used in isolation along other parts of the body. The adjustable straps can be replaced with tensile straps, and the sleeve can be positioned along different points of the patient's body to allow the patient to conduct various patient driven exercises, including patient driven range of motion or strengthening exercises.
Removable cartridges for a spine board
A removable cartridge configured to be inserted into a receiving channel. The cartridge includes an elongated body having a leading end, a trailing end, a top surface and a bottom surface. A button protrudes from the top surface of the elongated body and is positioned proximate the trailing end of the elongated body. When the cartridge is being inserted into the receiving channel, the button is compressed. After the cartridge is inserted into the receiving channel, the button releases into an opening that intersects with the receiving channel so as to lock the cartridge in the channel.
SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATICALLY TRACKING AND DISPLAYING PARAMETERS OF A JOINT DURING SURGERY
A traction system for automatically tracking and displaying parameters of a joint during surgery. The traction system includes a traction device and a computing device. The traction device has a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end has a platform with a perineal post extending therefrom and the distal end has one or more footrests extended therefrom. One or more sensors are connected to the traction device. The one or more sensors generate sensor data based on movement of the traction device. A computing device is connected to the one or more sensors and is configured to receive the sensor data and process the sensor data into a metric. A display connected to the computing device is configured to display the metric.
THERAPEUTIC ACTIVE-MOTION APPARATUS THAT INCREASES JOINT-ELECTRICITY FOR IMPROVING THE ACTIVE MOTION OF AFFECTED SHOULDER
The present invention provides a therapeutic active-motion apparatus that increases Joint-Electricity for improving the active motion of affected shoulder. It is comprised of a straight-arm section, one or more than one arm-fixing strap, a hand-position section, and one or more than one force-applying-interface section, for applying a force toward the affected shoulder joint during the training of active motion to actualize the therapeutic mechanism based on Joint-Electricity Theory, and its application theory Using the Favorable Component of Joint-Electricity-Generation as the favorable component in motion therapy. The affected shoulders those with limitation in range of motion and shoulder pains use the present invention can achieve the effects including at least the increase in range of motion that is measurable, and reduction in the shoulder pains.
