Surgical hand wrap and sterile connector
Devices to secure the hand of a patient to a limb positioning device while evenly distributing the applied traction load across the patient's hand and wrist are disclosed. The hand is placed in the open position into a soft mitten, while an anatomically-shaped plate is attached to the mitten for supporting the palm of the hand in the open position. Straps are then secured around the patient's wrist and hand. Finally, the entire device is overwrapped an elastic bandage and secured to the limb positioning device. When traction is applied, the shape of the plate, the construction of the mitten, and the straps combine to allow low-contact pressure across the patient's hand and wrist.
APPARATUS FOR POSITIONING A LOWER LIMB OF A PATIENT DURING SURGERY AND SURGICAL POSITIONING SYSTEM COMPRISING SAID APPARATUS
An apparatus for positioning a lower limb of a patient during surgery comprises at least one support structure connectable, through a proximal end, to a support device for a patient and defining a traction axis of the patient's lower limb, a traction slide slidingly movable on the support structure, a gripping body for a distal end of the patient's lower limb connectable to the traction slide. The support structure, when connected to the support device for a patient, is suspended and comprises at least one actuator, hydraulically connected with the traction slide, for moving the support structure in space.
Removable ligature resistant restraint ring receptacle
The removable restraint ring receptacle comprises a base for attachment to a furniture piece. The base adapted to receive a ligature resistant fastener. A restraint ring engaged by the fastener. The ligature resistant fastener may be a ball pin lock having a conical or rounded head. The head bearing against the restraint ring. The ligature resistant fastener further comprising a collar adapted to extend from the head to the base. The collar comprising a tapered outside surface adapted to span the gap between the head and the base when the ring is removed thereby providing a tapered protrusion to prevent the attachment of a ligature or snagging of clothes.
Intensive use furniture
An intensive use furniture concealed attachment device for securing furniture in a safe manner having a building bracket attached to the floor or wall and a tab attached to the furniture. The building bracket includes a tab flange and a pin flange. The tab is attached to the furniture in a mounting saddle formed on a mounting surface. The tab is adapted to slidingly engage the building bracket. A hole is formed in the furniture adjacent to the mounting saddle. A guide tube is disposed on the pin flange. A ball pin inserted into the hole and through the guide tube to engage the pin flange and connect the furniture to the building bracket. The tab connected to the building bracket provides support in the x, y and z axis directions.
LIMB SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURES
A height-adjustable support for supporting various bodily limbs over a wide range of limb positions, and in hospital rooms, doctors' offices, or other compact environments. The device permits a medical procedure to be performed by a single person while the device supports the limb. The device includes a rigid base, at least one support mounted to the base to extend therefrom, and a cradle mounted on the support, the cradle defining a surface configured to support a limb of a patient. The supports may be adjustable in length, and the cradle may be adjustable in angular position. The cradle may be U-shaped or otherwise concavely-shaped, and may be linked with a cushioning material. A cover may be provided, and the cover and/or cradle may be configured with complementary fasteners for releasably attaching the cover to the cradle, so that the cover may be discarded after each use.
PATIENT IMMOBILIZATION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMMOBILIZING A PATIENT
The invention relates to a patient immobilization apparatus (100) comprising a planar element (105) made of a non-woven fabric. The planar element (105) has an elongate middle section (110) and a plurality of arms (120; 130), which extend out laterally on both sides of the middle section (110). The patient immobilization apparatus (100) can be provided to the end user, preferably in a folded state. In the folded state, each of the arms (120; 130) is folded laterally on the elongate middle section (110). Parts of the elongate middle section (110), having the arms (120; 130) folded laterally thereon, are advantageously additionally foldable onto each other in the longitudinal direction. Each arm (120; 130) can be folded laterally in part on itself before it is folded laterally on the elongate middle section (110).
RESTRAINT BRACKET
A bracket assembly for securing a bracket to a surface of a furniture item. The assembly includes a bracket plate for securement to the furniture item and a bracket. The bracket has a main body extending to a closed handle. The main body is configured to be securable to the plate such that the handle extends outwardly from the furniture item, and to be removable from the plate when the bracket is not required.
Orthopedic device and method for lower limb elevation and stabilization
A support device provides elevation and support for a patient's foot, including ankle and heal, and limits lateral and medial rotation of the foot. This protects the knee from injury while healing. The device includes a generally flat main body, two spaced-apart lateral ridges, and a medial depression between the lateral ridges that provides a support surface on which the foot may be positioned. The lateral ridges can extend to a height above the support surface so that inner side surfaces of the lateral ridges are adjacent to a majority of a foot placed in the medial depression. The lateral ridges can terminate below a top of the foot to permit unrestricted ventilation and access to the foot. The lateral ridges can be spaced apart to facilitate placement of a foot onto and removal of the foot from the support surface without manual manipulation of the device.
Side-Attachment Cradle for Veterinary Surgical Tables
A side-attachment cradle for veterinary surgical tables includes a platform, a first length-adjustable skirt, a second length-adjustable skirt, at least one first skirt-positioning mechanism, at least one second skirt-positioning mechanism, and a surgical-table adapter. The platform, the first length-adjustable skirt, and the second length-adjustable skirt enclose a holding area for securely holding an animal during necessary surgical procedures. The first skirt-positioning mechanism positions the first length-adjustable skirt by adjusting a first angle and a first offset-distance from the platform's central axis. The second skirt-positioning mechanism positions the second length-adjustable skirt by adjusting a second angle and a second offset distance from the platform's central axis, thereby changing the effective volume enclosed by the holding area. The surgical-table adapter allows the present invention to selectively fasten onto a conventional veterinary surgical table. More specifically, the surgical-table adapter perimetrically engages onto the edges of the veterinary surgical table.
HEAD STABILIZATION DEVICE TENSIONING FEATURE AND METHOD OF USE
A head stabilization device useable for stabilizing a head of a patient during a medical procedure includes a modular design where stabilization assemblies of various configurations are interchangeable at receiving portions along a frame. The device includes a tensioning feature positioned away from the stabilization assembly but still operable to increase or decrease an amount of force the stabilization assembly applies to the patient's head. The device includes a locking feature for a stabilization assembly having a rotatable member having one or more stabilization features connected thereto. The device includes an adjustment feature to adjust a spacing between frame members with the adjustment feature providing a continuous range of adjustment rather than finite adjustment increments.
