Urine collection device, system, and method
A urinary collection device includes an outer surface and a generally fluid-permeable core that communicates fluidically with an aspiration tube. The outer surface includes an obverse opening to allow urine to flow into the fluid-permeable core when the device is positioned supralabially. On the reverse may be an actuatable fastener configured to retain the device in a reverse-folded intralabial position. In this manner the device may be placed supralabially or intralabially for urine collection as appropriate. The core may include a first knit fabric layer and a second knit fabric layer joined by a plurality of fibers, the fibers being oriented generally to extend from an obverse to a reverse position to thereby result in flow channels through the core.
FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLIES INCLUDING ONE OR MORE FLUID FLOW FEATURES
An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier defining at least one exterior surface. The fluid impermeable barrier includes at least one interior surface defining a chamber and an exterior surface opposite the interior surface. The fluid impermeable barrier defines at least one opening that is configured to be positioned adjacent to a urethral opening that allows fluids (e.g., urine) to enter the chamber. The fluid impermeable barrier also includes one or more fluid flow features formed in or on the exterior surface of the fluid impermeable barrier. The fluid flow features are configure to facilitate removal of one or more fluids between the exterior surface and the skin.
Body waste management system
A body waste collection system for collecting excretions from the anus and/or urethra of female humans and animals. The body waste collection system includes a pad that has a central opening of a shape and shape that corresponds to a shape and size of a body orifice, wherein the pad can adhere to the skin area around the body orifice. A tubing fluidly connects the central opening of the pad to a waste collection bag, such as excretions from the body orifice can pass through the central opening into the tubing, and the tubing can direct the excretions into the waste collection bag.
CLINICAL GARMENT FOR INFANTS
An interactive one-piece pantsuit is provided for wear by an infant/toddler, when a medical device has been surgically implanted into the infant/toddler. For this purpose, the pantsuit acts as a protective garment which normally covers and protects extracorporeal components of the medical device. The garment, however, includes flaps which are positioned at key locations on the garment over the extracorporeal components of the medical device. These flaps can then be selectively raised to temporarily provide a caregiver with the necessary access to the medical device for operational or maintenance purposes.
URINE COLLECTION DEVICES ADJUSTABLE BETWEEN COMPACT AND EXTENDED CONFIGURATIONS, AND RELATED METHODS
Examples relate to devices, systems, and methods for fluid collection such as urine. In an embodiment, the urine collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier and fluid permeable structure. The fluid impermeable barrier is adjustable between an extended configuration and a compact configuration. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber, an aperture configured to receive a conduit therethrough, and an opening. The fluid permeable structure positioned within the chamber to extend across at least a portion of the opening. The fluid permeable structure configured to wick fluid away from the opening.
VARIABLE FIT FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
Examples relate to fluid collection devices, systems, and methods of collecting fluid from wearers. The fluid collection devices include a retention means for maintaining the position of the fluid collection device with respect to the wearer.
Portable urinal device
A portable urinal device includes a base forming a liquid receptacle. Tubing extends from the base to a head member which can be positioned onto genitalia for urination. Suction is provided via a pump or vacuum device to suction urine from the head into the base receptacle.
Surgical infant diaper
A surgical infant diaper. The surgical infant diaper includes a flexible body having an interior layer and an exterior layer, wherein the flexible body further includes a front portion, a rear portion, and a central portion therebetween. The flexible body is movable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the closed position an upper opening and a pair of leg openings are defined. A central aperture extends through the front portion, wherein the central aperture is positioned to receive a penis of the wearer therethrough.
METHOD FOR A SEALING DEVICE FOR AN INTESTINAL STOMA
The invention discloses an ostomy accessory (20) for an intestinal stoma of a mammal ostomy patient, adapted to be used together with an implanted constriction device with an artificial closing sphincter function for closing the intestinal passageway. The ostomy accessory is adapted to absorb secret from the mucosa wall of the part of the intestine which is distal to the constriction device, which may secrete or disseminate some liquid matter, which may thus spill out and cause discomfort to the patient, for example by staining the clothes of the patient. The ostomy accessory comprises an insertion portion (21) for insertion into said intestinal stoma and comprising an absorbing body (23, 24, 25) for absorbing and retaining liquid matter consisting of liquid secreted from a mucosa wall of the intestine (31). The accessory (20) also comprises an outer part (22) attached to the insertion portion and adapted to seal said stoma (5) together with the insertion portion (21), the outer part (22) comprising a liquid non-permeable layer in order to allow the absorbing body to retain absorbed liquid secretions from the mucosa wall so that the mucosa wall does not dehydrate.
