FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A REUSABLE FLUID IMPERMEABLE BARRIER AND AT LEAST ONE SINGLE USE WICKING CARTRIDGE
An example fluid collection assembly includes a reusable fluid impermeable barrier that is configured to be reusable and at least one single use wicking cartridge that may not configured to be reusable. The reusable fluid impermeable barrier defines an chamber therein. The reusable fluid impermeable barrier and the single use wicking cartridge are configured to have the single use wicking cartridge disposed in a chamber defined by the reusable fluid impermeable barrier. The fluid collection assembly may also include at least one tube that is at least partially disposed in the chamber or otherwise in fluid communication with the chamber. The tube is configured to remove other bodily fluids (e.g., urine) from the chamber.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES INCLUDING AN OPENING HAVING AN INCREASED WIDTH, AND SUSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE
Example fluid impermeable barriers of fluid collection devices and methods of forming a fluid impermeable barrier of a fluid collection device. The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber, an aperture configured to receive a conduit therethrough, and an opening. The fluid permeable body is positioned at least partially within the chamber to extend across at least a portion of the opening and configured to wick fluid away from the opening. The fluid permeable body includes a slot extending longitudinally through the fluid permeable body and configured to at least partially receive a conduit therein.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE
An absorbent article in which an absorber includes an upper auxiliary layer disposed on an uppermost portion and a main absorption layer disposed on a back surface side of the upper auxiliary layer, and the upper auxiliary layer includes a super absorbent nonwoven fabric having a surface exposed to an uppermost surface of the absorber and having a Klemm water absorptiveness of 100 mm or more.
FLUID COLLECTION ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A TUBE HAVING POROUS WICKING MATERIAL FOR IMPROVED FLUID TRANSPORT
An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier at least defining a chamber, at least one opening, and a fluid outlet. The fluid collection assembly further includes at least one porous material disposed in the chamber and a tube in fluid communication with the fluid outlet, the tube including a hydrophilic material exhibiting a porous structure configured to wick fluid from the chamber without the assistance of a pump.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES HAVING A COLLECTION BAG, AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Examples relate to fluid collection devices, and related systems and methods. In some embodiments, a fluid collection device includes a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body. The fluid impermeable barrier may include a first end region, a second end region, a front side, and a back side. The fluid impermeable barrier defines an opening on the front side, one or more apertures on the back side distal to the opening and positioned between the first end region and the second end region, and a chamber within the fluid collection device. At least one of the first end region or the second end region may be substantially planar. The fluid permeable body is positioned within the chamber and extends across at least a portion of the opening.
Ostomy apparatuses and related methods
An ostomy apparatus comprising a flexible container having an interior chamber for receiving waste from a patient's stoma and an opening for surrounding the stoma, a housing coupled to the container, wherein the housing is configured to accommodate an absorbent material that surrounds the stoma, a port configured to provide fluid communication between the housing and a pressure source; and an adhesive layer configured to seal the housing to skin around the stoma.
URINARY RELIEF DEVICE
A female urinary relief device is disclosed. The device may include an intimate interface device (IID) configured to be positioned intimate with a user's body. The IID may include a tray including a raised perimeter forming a seal between the user's body and the tray. The IID may include a fluid cavity configured to capture fluid from the user's body. The IID may include a pad including a slot configured to provide an unobstructed route to the fluid cavity. The device may include a fluid removal system configured to remove the fluid from the fluid cavity and route the fluid to a storage device. The fluid removal system may include a suction sub-system configured to pull the fluid against gravity to remove the fluid from the fluid cavity. The fluid removal system may include discharge hoses configured to fluidically and mechanically couple the IID to the storage device.
Disposable stoma plug and method of use thereof
A disposable stoma plug includes an absorbent body and a grip device. The absorbent body has a bottom end and a top. The bottom end is configured for insertion into a stoma opening. The grip device is connected to the top of the absorbent body. The grip device is configured for handling the absorbent body for inserting and removing the absorbent body into and from the stoma opening. Wherein, the stoma plug is configured to briefly seal off the stoma opening of an urostomy, an ileostomy, or a colostomy to prevent bodily fluids from leaking from the stoma opening, thereby, keeping surrounding skin free and dry while changing dressings, bandages or a collection bag.
OSTOMY APPLIANCE CONFIGURED FOR LEAKAGE DETECTION
An ostomy appliance includes an ostomy hydrocolloid having a body-facing side, a pouch-facing side and a stoma opening, at least one fluid aperture formed in the body-facing side and at least one fluidic channel embedded in the ostomy hydrocolloid having a proximal portion disposed in fluid communication with the at least one fluid aperture. The ostomy appliance also includes at least one window formed in the pouch facing side, the at least one window aligned with a distal portion of the fluidic channel such that a portion of the fluidic channel is visible through the window. In another embodiment, an ostomy appliance includes a skin barrier material and an ultrasonic detection device for monitoring the skin barrier material.
FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES AND SYSTEMS
A fluid collection device may include a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body in some examples. In some examples, the fluid collection device may be primarily designed for use with female wearers but may be used with both male and female wearers with the use of an adapter and/or an attachment apparatus. In some examples, the fluid collection device may include shape memory materials that permit the fluid collection device to conform to a variety of anatomy types. In some examples, the fluid collection device may include customizable or predesigned contoured fluid permeable body to accommodate a variety of anatomy.
