POLYURETHANE-BASED COMPOSITION
The invention relates to a composition containing: a composition A which contains at least one polyurethane having at least two terminal functions T of the following formula (I):
##STR00001##
and a composition B containing at least one amine,
and to the use thereof.
Optical fiber and process for producing the same
A process for producing an optical fiber including a glass fiber, a primary resin coating layer which covers the periphery of the glass fiber, and a secondary resin coating layer which covers the periphery of the primary resin coating layer, wherein the primary resin coating layer is formed by curing a curable resin composition which includes one or more oligomers, one or more monomers, and a reaction initiator, the curable resin composition containing a one-end-capped oligomer in an amount of 30% by mass or larger based on all the oligomers. The optical fiber produced by this production process does not deteriorate in low-temperature transmission loss, because the primary resin coating layer is inhibited from generating voids even when having a low Young's modulus.

Methods for reducing aldehyde emissions in polyurethane foams
Polyurethane foams are made by curing a reaction mixture that contains an aromatic polyisocyanate, at least one isocyanate-reactive material having an average functionality of at least 2 and an equivalent weight of at least 200 per isocyanate-reactive group, at least one blowing agent, at least one surfactant, at least one catalyst, and certain aldehyde-suppressing additives. Foams so produced emit low levels of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde.
Process for producing porous materials
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a porous material, at least comprising the steps of providing a mixture (I) comprising a composition (A) comprising components suitable to form an organic gel and a solvent (B), reacting the components in the composition (A) in the presence of the solvent (B) to form a gel, and drying of the gel obtained in step b), wherein the composition (A) comprises at least one compound (af) comprising phosphorous and at least one functional group which is reactive towards isocyanates. The invention further relates to the porous materials which can be obtained in this way and the use of the porous materials as thermal insulation material and in vacuum insulation panels, in particular in interior or exterior thermal insulation systems as well as in water tank or ice maker insulation systems.
POLYURETHANE POLYUREA, METHOD FOR PROVIDING SAME AND COSMETIC COMPOSITION CONTAINING SAME
A polyurethane polyurea having strong thickening and gelling effects, obtained by reacting a polyurethane polyurea prepolymer obtained from a silicone derivative starting material having a specific structure, a specific diisocyanate compound starting material and a starting material made up of a compound represented by General Formula (C) (each of which is set forth in the Description), with either or both of a nitrogen compound having a specific structure and a hydroxyl group-containing compound having a specific structure (each of which is set forth in the Description.
Polymeric Material Including a Uretdione-Containing Material, an Epoxy Component, and an Accelerator, Two-Part Compositions, and Methods
The present disclosure provides a polymeric material including a polymerized reaction product of a polymerizable composition including components and has a solids content of 90% or greater. The components include a uretdione-containing material including a reaction product of a diisocyanate reacted with itself; a first hydroxyl-containing compound; an optional second hydroxyl-containing compound having a single OH group; an epoxy component; and an accelerator. The first hydroxyl-containing compound has more than one OH group and the optional second hydroxyl-containing compound is a primary alcohol or a secondary alcohol. The present disclosure also provides a two-part composition, in which a polymeric material is included in the first part and the second part includes at least one thiol-containing compound. Further, a method of adhering two substrates is provided, including obtaining a two-part composition; combining at least a portion of the first part with at least a portion of the second part to form a mixture; disposing at least a portion of the mixture on a first substrate; and contacting a second substrate with the mixture disposed on the first substrate. The disclosure also provides a polymeric material and a method of making a two-part composition. Advantageously, two-part compositions according to the present disclosure can be used as coatings and adhesive systems with handling and performance similar to existing two-part urethane systems, but with less sensitivity to water.
Device, system, component, method and composition for preventing deposits of a disposal substance in coating installations
A device, method, system, operating method, component and composition are disclosed for preventing deposits of a disposal agent, e.g., where a multi-component paint having two or more components such as a paint component and a hardener component, is employed, for example in a coating installation. Exemplary illustrations include a receiving device for disposal agent, e.g., for disposal agent from cleaning and/or rinsing processes of an application apparatus, comprising at least one inlet opening for introducing the disposal agent, and an outlet opening for removing the disposal agent. Furthermore, at least one loading means may be provided in order to load the receiving device with a loading agent, which may at least delay a deposition of disposal agent on or in the receiving device.
