The monitor device comprises a processor configured to apply a processing scheme; memory; a first interface connected to the processor and the memory, the first interface configured for collecting ostomy data from the base plate coupled to the first interface; and a second interface connected to the processor, wherein to apply a processing scheme comprises: obtain first parameter data, second parameter data, and third parameter data based on the ostomy data; and determine an operating state of the base plate of the ostomy appliance based on the first parameter data, the second parameter data and the third parameter data, wherein the operating state is indicative of a degree of radial erosion of the base plate and/or acute leakage risk for the ostomy appliance, wherein the monitor device is configured to, in accordance with a determination that the operating state is a first operating state, transmit a first monitor signal comprising monitor data indicative of the first operating state of the base plate via the second interface; and in accordance with a determination that the operating state is a second operating state, transmit a second monitor signal comprising monitor data indicative of the second operating state of the base plate via the second interface.
TOOLS AND METHODS FOR PLACING AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE ON A USER
A method for operating an accessory device to guide the placement of an ostomy appliance on a user having a stoma. The method can include capturing an image or a sequence of images of the user applying the ostomy appliance to the user's body, processing the captured image or sequence of images, including: identifying a location of the stoma in one or more of the captured image or sequence of images, identifying a location of the ostomy appliance in one or more of the captured image or sequence of images, and generating location indicia representative of the location of the ostomy appliance with respect to the stoma in one or more of the captured image or sequence of images. A visual display including the location indicia associated with one or more of the captured image or sequence of images can be provided.
PRODUCT BAG RETENTION ASSEMBLY
A product bag suspension assembly includes a rod having a first end, a second end, and a body extending between the first end and the second end. A platform is operatively coupled to the second end of the rod and defines an aperture arrangement configured to receive a mounting device of a product bag. The rod is configured to suspend the product bag in an upright position when the product bag is coupled to the platform.
MONITOR DEVICE OF A MEDICAL SYSTEM HAVING A CONNECTOR FOR COUPLING TO BOTH A BASE PLATE AND AN ACCESSORY DEVICE
A monitor device for an ostomy system is disclosed. The monitor device comprises a first interface comprising a primary terminal and a secondary terminal. The primary terminal is configured to form electrical connection with a primary electrode of the base plate when the monitor device is coupled to the base plate, and the primary terminal being configured to form electrical connection with a primary charge terminal of the accessory device when the monitor device is coupled to the accessory device. The secondary terminal is configured to form electrical connection with a secondary electrode of the base plate when the monitor device is coupled to the base plate, and the secondary terminal being configured to form electrical connection with a secondary charge terminal of the accessory device when the monitor device is coupled to the accessory device.
Ostomy appliance having an adhesive wafer with sensing means
An ostomy appliance has an adhesive wafer with a backing layer and an adhesive layer attached to the backing layer. The adhesive wafer has sensing means capable of recording application of pressure to the adhesive wafer during application of the ostomy appliance to the skin.
Urine output collection and monitoring system
Improved urine output collection apparatus and monitoring device features are provided. The disposable urine collection apparatus includes a collection reservoir and a diverter for controlling the flow of urine to a first passageway of the diverter in a first position and to a second passageway of the diverter in a second position, wherein the first passageway is fluidly interconnected to the collection reservoir. The disposable urine collection apparatus may include a cartridge having an internal chamber and inlet and outlet members interconnected to the cartridge, wherein the inlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the second passageway of the diverter, and wherein the outlet member is selectively, fluidly interconnectable to the collection reservoir. The monitoring device is interconnectable with the cartridge and operable to monitor a volume and/or level of urine collected within the cartridge. The cartridge may include a front portion and a reduced-width projecting portion extending rearwardly from the front portion. The projecting portion of the cartridge may be received within a recessed portion of the monitoring device. The monitoring device may include at least light source (e.g. a laser diode) for emitting a fan beam light signal into the projecting portion and a light detector array (e.g. a charge coupled device) for detection of the fan beam light signal and output of signals employable to determine a volume and/or level of collected urine.
Container for menstrual collection and emptying thereof
A container for menstrual collection and emptying thereof, in the shape of a cup or of a flat cup, with a drainage tube composed of at least one very flexible thin-walled portion, and a wall portion of greater thickness. By applying an upward force on the portion, the tube is folded by its portion closing off the liquid passageway, and the tube end remaining directly anchored to the vaginal wall or below a hollow formed in the container. For a mid-day emptying, a downward force is applied on the portion to unfold the drainage tube.
