URETHANE-BASED ADHESIVE COMPOSITION
A urethane-based adhesive composition with improved adhesiveness while maintaining characteristics of being gentle to the skin is provided.
The urethane-based adhesive composition of the invention contains a urethane-based adhesive, a curing agent and a hydrophilic plasticizing agent as essential components. The hydrophilic plasticizing agent is a hydrophilic high-boiling point liquid which is compatibilized with urethane to provide a plasticizing effect, and preferably has one or more hydroxyl groups or oxyethylene groups, or both of them in a molecule. A composition ratio of the solid contents of the urethane-based adhesive composition, the curing agent and the hydrophilic plasticizing agent is, based on 100 parts by mass of the urethane-based adhesive, 0.5 to 15 parts by mass of the curing agent and 10 to 80 parts by mass of the hydrophilic plasticizing agent.
Dendritic polyurea for solubilizing active substances of low solubility
The present invention provides a composition comprising an amphiphile and an active ingredient whose solubility in water at 20° C. is not more than 10 g/L, wherein the amphiphile comprises a dendritic polyurea which is joined to at least one linear or comb-type polymer, and the joining is effected via a difunctional linker, if the repeat units of the linear polymer are composed of polymerized alkylene oxide. The invention also relates to an amphiphile comprising a dendritic polyurea and a process for preparing the amphiphile.

Urethane acrylic hybrid polymer dispersion with robust dry/wet adhesion and basecoats prepared therefrom
This invention relates to urethane acrylic hybrid polymer dispersion with robust dry/wet adhesion and the basecoats prepared therefrom for automotive applications. In this system, the polyurethane dispersion (PUD) prepolymer is based on a combination of polyols and aliphatic diisocyanates. The acrylic portion is based on (meth)acrylated monomers. A combination of this hybrid polymer dispersion and other resins having defined glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) values, organic and/or inorganic rheology modifiers, and different additives including pigment, dispersant, and defoamer are used to prepare waterborne basecoats having modified appearance and performance. The final coatings show excellent dry/wet adhesion to the primer for automotive applications.
Hybrid Polyurethane-Polyhydroxyurethane Composition
The present invention relates to a hybrid polyurethane-polyhydroxyurethane (PU-PHU) composition obtained by a process comprising the following steps: (i) Reacting at least one isocyanate containing compound, in stoichiometric excess, with at least one isocyanate-reactive compound, resulting in the formation of at least one prepolymer, (ii) Reacting said at least one prepolymer with at least one cyclic carbonate functional group containing compound, leading to the formation of a cyclic carbonate-terminated prepolymer, (iii) Ring-opening reaction of said cyclic carbonate-terminated prepolymer with at least one amine functional group containing compound resulting in said hybrid PU-PHU composition,
characterised in that said ring-opening reaction step is carried out above room temperature, preferably above 20° C., more preferably above 25° C.

A process for producing a plastic lens includes a step of stirring and mixing a solution including a polymerization reactive compound in a preparation tank; a step of transferring the polymerizable composition obtained in the step from the preparation tank to a lens casting mold; a step of curing the polymerizable composition; and a step of obtaining a plastic lens molded product by separating the obtained resin from the lens casting mold. The step of transferring the polymerizable composition includes a step of re-mixing the polymerizable composition discharged from the preparation tank and injecting the polymerizable composition into the lens casting mold.

Provided are a carbodiimide-based, waterborne resin crosslinking agent that not only is excellent in the storage stability when the crosslinking agent and a waterborne resin are caused to coexist, but also can improve physical properties such as solvent resistance and water resistance of a cured product of the waterborne resin, and a waterborne resin crosslinking agent-containing liquid and a waterborne resin composition comprising the same. The waterborne resin crosslinking agent of the present invention comprises a predetermined polycarbodiimide compound (A) having an oxyalkylene group, a predetermined polycarbodiimide compound (B), and a surfactant (C), each polycarbodiimide compound has a structure in which an isocyanate group is capped with a predetermined end-capping compound at each of both terminals, a total content of the oxyalkylene group in (A) is 15% by mass or more, a total content of the oxyalkylene group in (A) and (B) based on a total amount of (A) and (B) is 10% by mass or less, and a content of (C) is 0.1 to 20 parts by mass based on a total content of (A) and (B) of 100 parts by mass.
