Tertiary Hydroxyl Functional Alkoxysilanes and Methods for Preparing Thereof
Disclosed is a tertiary hydroxyl functional alkoxysilane of the general formula (I)

wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are same or different and are, independent from one another, selected from a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R.sup.4 is selected from a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R.sup.5 is selected from a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are same or different and are, independent from one another, selected from a linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon residue having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and n is 1, 2 or 3, a method for preparing thereof, and the use of the tertiary hydroxyl functional alkoxysilane of the general formula (I).
RESISTANT 2K-PUR COATINGS
The invention relates to coating agents containing A) at least one polyol component, B) at least one crosslinking component which is obtained by reacting at least one polyisocyanate with at least one amino functional alkoxy silane and which comprises free and/or blocked isocyanate groups, optionally (C) at least one catalyst for crosslinking silane groups, and D) optionally additional auxiliary agents and additives. The invention is characterized in that the polyol component A) comprises at least one polyester polyol A1) that has been produced using a 2,2,4,4-tetraalkylcyclobutane-1,3-diol (TACD) of the general formula (I), in which independently of one another the groups R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 represent linear or branched alkyl groups with up to 8 carbon atoms. The invention additionally relates to the use of the coating agents and to substrates which are coated with the coating agents according to the invention.

Single-component polysiloxane non-skid / non-slip coatings
Disclosed is a composition having: an organosilane polymer, a polyamide polymer; and an abrasive aggregate. The organosilane is made by: reacting an amino-functional alkoxysilane with one or more polyisocyanates to form one or more adducts having an unreacted isocyanate group; and reacting the adducts with one or more polyfunctional amino- and/or hydroxyl compounds so that the polymer contains no unreacted isocyanate groups. The polyfunctional amino- and/or hydroxyl compound has a cycloaliphatic group or an aromatic group. The composition can be used to make a single-component polysiloxane non-skid/non-slip coating that is applied by rolling, spraying, or troweling and cures with atmospheric moisture.
COMPOSITIONS BASED ON SILANE-FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS HAVING ENHANCED OVERPAINTABILITY
A moisture-curable composition, including at least one organic polymer P containing reactive silane groups, between 1.0 wt.-% and 25.0 wt.-%, preferably between 2.0 wt.-% and 20 wt.-%, in particular between 2.5 wt.-% and 10 wt.-%, based on the total composition, of dimethyl or diethyl esters of aliphatic C3 to C5 dicarboxylic acids, and at least one curing catalyst for alkoxysilane groups. The moisture-curable composition is particularly suitable as elastic adhesive, coating, filler, or sealant and shows superior overpaintability, in particular with automotive topcoats or similar paints.
COMPOSITIONS BASED ON SILANE-FUNCTIONAL POLYMERS HAVING ENHANCED OVERPAINTABILITY
A moisture-curable composition, including at least one organic polymer P containing reactive silane groups, between 1.0 wt.-% and 25.0 wt.-%, preferably between 2.0 wt.-% and 20 wt.-%, in particular between 2.5 wt.-% and 10 wt.-%, based on the total composition, of dimethyl or diethyl esters of aliphatic C3 to C5 dicarboxylic acids, and at least one curing catalyst for alkoxysilane groups. The moisture-curable composition is particularly suitable as elastic adhesive, coating, filler, or sealant and shows superior overpaintability, in particular with automotive topcoats or similar paints.
Flame-retardant adhesive and sealant with improved mechanical properties
A moisture-curable composition having flame retardant properties and to the use thereof as an adhesive, sealant or coating. The composition according to the invention contains at least one moisture-reactive polymer in a proportion of 10% to 50% by weight, at least one precipitated, surface-coated aluminum trihydrate in a proportion of 30% to 60% by weight and in preferred embodiments up to 25% by weight of at least one phosphorus-containing compound and up to 20% by weight of at least one carbon additive. The inventive moisture-curable composition has excellent flame retardant properties and after curing remains resistant for a long time at high heat levels.
Flame-retardant adhesive and sealant with improved mechanical properties
A moisture-curable composition having flame retardant properties and to the use thereof as an adhesive, sealant or coating. The composition according to the invention contains at least one moisture-reactive polymer in a proportion of 10% to 50% by weight, at least one precipitated, surface-coated aluminum trihydrate in a proportion of 30% to 60% by weight and in preferred embodiments up to 25% by weight of at least one phosphorus-containing compound and up to 20% by weight of at least one carbon additive. The inventive moisture-curable composition has excellent flame retardant properties and after curing remains resistant for a long time at high heat levels.
Self-lubricating medical articles
Medical articles formed from a polyurethane-based resin including a modifying oligomer provide enhanced properties. A modifying oligomer incorporated into a backbone, as a side chain, or both of the polyurethane-based resin formed by a diisocyanate, a polyglycol, and a diol chain extender has at least one, preferably two, alcohol moieties (C—OH) and a functional moiety. Exemplary modifying oligomers are: a diol-containing perfluoropolyether incorporated into the backbone, a monofunctional polysiloxane (e.g., monodialcohol-terminated polydimethylsiloxane) incorporated as the side chain, and combinations thereof. Medical articles herein are self-lubricating and/or anti-fouling.
