Hydroxymethyl-carboxamido-substituted silane and its use for curable, silane-terminated polymers
Specific hydroxysilanes of formula (I), a method for the production thereof, the use thereof as a constituent of moisture-curing compositions, and silane-functional compounds produced therefrom, in particular silane-functional polymers and isocyanatosilanes. The hydrosilanes can be produced in a simple process with a high degree of purity and are storage-stable after production. Production from the reaction of lactides with aminosilanes is particularly advantageous. Hydroxysilane of formula (I), where n is 1 or 2.
METHOD FOR ADHERING CURED RUBBER COMPONENTS
A method for preparing a retreaded tire, the method comprising (a) providing a tire casing; (b) providing a pre-cured tire tread; (c) applying a primer composition to the tire casing, the pre-cured tread, or both the tire casing and the pre-cured tread therefore form at least one primer layer, where the primer composition includes a halogenating agent and a solvent; (d) applying a urethane-based adhesive composition to at least one of the tire casing, an adhesive layer, the pre-cured tread, or the at least one primer layer; (e) mating the pre-cured tread to the tire casing to thereby sandwich the adhesive layer between the pre-cured tread and the tire casing and form a pre-cured composite: and (f) allowing the adhesive layer of the pre-cured composite to cure and thereby form a retreaded tire.
CONTROLLED RELEASE COMPOSITION CONTAINING DCOIT
A composition containing 4,5-dichloro-2-n-octylisothiazolin-3-one, an activated carbon having a surface area of at least 700 m.sup.2/g and a cured isocyanate.

Solid, self-bondable isocyanate-containing organic polymers and methods for using same
Solid, non-melting polyurethanes having a glass transition temperature of at least 40° C. and free isocyanate groups are self-bonding materials that are useful in a variety of adhesive and molding operations. Under conditions of heat and moisture, these polyurethanes will self-bond. The polyurethanes can be used as adhesive coatings, which are solid and non-tacky and thus can be transported and stored easily under ambient conditions. These polyurethane adhesives are especially useful in applications in which, due to the location and/or orientation of the substrates, liquid or melting materials cannot be applied easily or will run off the substrates.

POLYURETHANE COMPOSITION WITH IMPROVED ADHESION ON PAINTED SURFACES
A moisture-curing, one-component polyurethane composition, containing at least one isocyanate group-containing polyether urethane polymer obtained by reacting at least one polyisocyanate with at least one polyether polyol; at least one isocyanurate-containing trimer of 1-isocyanato-3,3,5-trimethyl-5-isocyanatomethyl cyclohexane or 1,6-hexane diisocyanate in a quantity of between 1 and 4 percent by weight in the composition; at least one polyether with blocked hydroxyl groups, which is free of isocyanate groups, as a plasticiser, in a quantity of more than 5 percent by weight in the composition. Where moisture is excluded, the moisture-curing polyurethane composition has good storage stability, good processability and good thermal stability, and surprisingly good adhesive effect on highly scratch-resistant, hydrophobic automotive paints, and no pretreatment with adhesion promoters, primers or activators is needed. It is especially suitable for use as an elastic adhesive in the production of means of transport.
