FLAME RETARDANT POLYOL
A reaction system, such as for forming a rigid polyurethane foam, includes a flame retardant polyol that is a brominated reaction product of a cardanol component, a bromine component, and an additive component. The cardanol component includes at least 80 wt % of cardanol, based on the total weight of the cardanol component, and the bromine component including at least 80 wt % of bromine, based on the total weight of the bromine component.
Shape memory polymers
New shape memory polymer compositions, methods for synthesizing new shape memory polymers, and apparatus comprising an actuator and a shape memory polymer wherein the shape memory polymer comprises at least a portion of the actuator. A shape memory polymer comprising a polymer composition which physically forms a network structure wherein the polymer composition has shape-memory behavior and can be formed into a permanent primary shape, re-formed into a stable secondary shape, and controllably actuated to recover the permanent primary shape. Polymers have optimal aliphatic network structures due to minimization of dangling chains by using monomers that are symmetrical and that have matching amine and hydroxl groups providing polymers and polymer foams with clarity, tight (narrow temperature range) single transitions, and high shape recovery and recovery force that are especially useful for implanting in the human body.
AQUEOUS COPOLYMER COATING COMPOSITIONS FOR INDUSTRIAL AND CONSTRUCTION APPLICATIONS
Copolymer dispersions containing polyamide segments in aqueous media form binders for coatings for various industrial and construction materials. The copolymers have a high percentage of amide linkages. The copolymers are linked into higher molecular weight species by reactions with polyisocyanates (which forms urea linkages if the other reactant is an amine or a urethane linkage if the other reactant is a hydroxyl group).
AQUEOUS POLYURETHANE DISPERSION
The present invention relates to an aqueous polyurethane dispersion and a process for preparing the same, an adhesive containing the same, and an adhesion article obtained by bonding with the adhesive. The aqueous polyurethane dispersion comprises a polyurethane having an anionic group dispersed therein, the polyurethane has a fusion enthalpy of 3 J/g-100 J/g at 20° C.-100° C. of the first temperature rising curve measured with the DSC according to DIN 65467, a weight-average molecular weight of 31,000-95,000, and the aqueous polyurethane dispersion has an acid value of 0.5 mg KOH/g-8.5 mg KOH/g. The adhesive comprising the aqueous polyurethane dispersion of the present invention has an excellent initial bonding force.

POLYURETHANE FOAM WITH REDUCED FORMALDEHYDE AND ACROLEIN EMISSIONS
A polyurethane foam with reduced formaldehyde and acrolein emissions, which is manufactured from a polyol system including polyol, a foam stabilizer, a foaming agent, and a liquid aldehyde reducing agent.
COATING AGENT AND LAMINATE
In a coating agent obtained by water-dispersing a polyurethane resin, the polyurethane resin is a secondary reaction product of an isocyanate group-terminated prepolymer and a chain extender. The isocyanate group-terminated prepolymer is a primary reaction product of a polyisocyanate component containing a xylylene diisocyanate and/or a hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate, and an active hydrogen group-containing component containing a short chain diol having 2 to 6 carbon atoms and an active hydrogen compound having a hydrophilic group; and the viscosity at 25° C. of the coating agent is 50 mPa.Math.s or more.
