Polyurethane Based Medical Articles
Medical articles formed from a polyurethane-based resin including an ionically-charged modifier provide enhanced properties. The polyurethane-based resin is a reaction product of ingredients comprising: a diisocyanate; a diol chain extender; a polyglycol; and a cationic modifier incorporated into a backbone, as a side chain, or both of the polyurethane-based resin. Exemplary cationic modifier includes bis(2-hydroxyethyl)dimethylammonium chloride (BHDAC). Medical articles herein either have inherent antimicrobial and/or anti-fouling characteristics or can easily bond anionic active agents to provide desirable material properties, including antimicrobial and anti-fouling.
Alkoxy-silane-modified polyurea compounds based on a mixture of dialkoxy and trialkoxy silanes
The invention relates to a polyurea compound, which can be produced by reacting a polyisocyanate with a dialkoxy amino silane according to general formula R.sup.1(R.sup.1O).sub.2Si(CH.sub.2).sub.mNHR.sup.2 and optionally also with a trialkoxy amino silane according to general formula (R.sup.1O).sub.3Si(CH.sub.2).sub.nNHR.sup.2 wherein the groups R.sup.1 are selected independently from one another from C.sub.1-C.sub.20-alkyl or C.sub.6-C.sub.20-aryl, n and m are each whole numbers between 1 and 4, the groups R.sup.2 are selected independently from one another from —H, C.sub.1-C.sub.2O-alkyl, C3-C12-cycloalkyl, and —CHR.sup.3CH.sub.2COOR.sup.4, the groups R.sup.3 are selected independently from one another from H, C.sub.1-C.sub.20-alkyl and —COOR.sup.4, and the groups R.sup.4 represent C.sub.1-C.sub.20-alkyl independently from one another. The invention also relates to the use of the compound as a binder for producing coatings.

An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball travelling a great flight distance on driver shots on a rainy day and having excellent spin performance on approach shots. The present invention provides a golf ball comprising a golf ball body and a paint film covering the golf ball body and composed of at least one layer, wherein an outermost layer of the paint film is formed from a paint containing a polyol, a polyisocyanate, and a carbinol modified silicone oil different from the polyol compound.

The applicator assembly delivers a cosmetic, health, or hygiene chemical composition in an active state to the user for a disposable single use. The applicator assembly includes a wrapper, and an insert. The insert holds the chemical composition, and the insert is made of a foam composition compatible with the chemical composition. The system and method for manufacturing the assembly is a web conversion process for the chemical composition and foam composition of the assembly. The insert body of the assembly is made of a foam composition compatible with the cosmetic or other hygiene or medical treatment of the chemical composition and the manufacturing process. The foam composition includes a reaction product of water, clay, polyacrylate, silane, methanol, ethylenediamine, and polyurethane prepolymer.

[Purpose] To provide a thermosetting composition with which it is possible to obtain paint films which not only display stain resistance for a short period after application, but with which excellent stain resistance can also be expected for longer periods, and which comply with the paint film properties required for painted steel sheet such as water resistance and bending workability, and have high environmental protection and safety qualities. [Solution] The present invention relates to a thermosetting composition, wherein it contains, as essential components, (A) a polyester resin of number average molecular weight 1,000-10,000 and hydroxyl value 5-200 mg KOH/g and, (B) 0.5 to 2.0 equivalents, relative to the hydroxyl groups of the aforesaid component (A), of a compound (B) which is a blocked aliphatic polyisocyanate compound having reactivity to the hydroxyl groups of component (A), wherein the blocks are methyl ethyl ketone oxime and/or ε-caprolactam, (C) 0.05 to 5 mass %, relative to the total resin solids mass of component (A) and component (B), of an organotin compound represented by the following general formula (I) [Chem.1] R.sup.1—Sn-(O)C═(O)—R.sup.2).sub.3 (I) (R.sup.1 in the formula represents an organic group wherein it has 1-24 carbons, and is directly bound to the Sn atom via a C atom.
