SEMI-RIGID POLYURETHANE FOAM FORMULATION AND METHOD FOR MAKING FOAMED PARTS
Composites having a polymer or natural leather skin layer and a polyurethane foam layer are made in a molding process. The polyurethane foam layer is made from a foam formulation that includes certain polyester polyols. The presence of the polyester polyol improves flow characteristics of the foam formulation. The foam so produced has unexpectedly low quantities of VOCs.

Provided is a panel, in particular a floor panel, ceiling panel, or wall panel, having a laminated multi-layer structure which includes a core layer, a decorative layer above the core layer, a transparent top layer above the decorative layer, and an intermediate layer situated between the decorative layer and the top layer. The intermediate layer is transparent, and made from a protective material which includes a polyurethane composition which is the reaction product of a polyester polyol, a polyether polyol, and an isocyanate. The polyurethane composition is a thermoset polymer material. Also provided is a use of an additional layer in a laminated multi-layer structure of a panel in particular a floor panel, ceiling panel, or wall panel. The additional layer is transparent, and is made from a protective material which includes a polyurethane composition which is the reaction product of a polyester polyol, a polyether polyol, and an isocyanate. The polyurethane composition is a thermoset polymer material.

The present disclosure relates to a polyol resin blend for use in a polyurethane formulation. The polyol resin blend generally includes (a) an amine having a pKa value between about 6 and about 8.5 and a protonated amine obtained by contacting a methylamino-containing tertiary amine or primary etheramine having a pKa value greater than about 9 and an acid compound, (b) a polyol, and (c) a halogenated olefin. The present disclosure also provides polyurethane formulations containing the polyol resin blend and methods of making polyurethane foam from such polyurethane formulations.
Polyurethane comprising graphene nano structure
Described herein is a polyurethane including a reaction product of an isocyanate component, a polyol component, and graphene nano platelets. The graphene nano platelets are reacted in an amount of from about 0.1 to about 20% by weight, based on a total weight of the polyurethane. The graphene nano platelets have an average lateral dimension (x, y) of from about 1 to about 100 μm, an average through-plane dimension (z) of from about 5 to about 100 nm, and an oxygen content of from about 0.01 to about 10% by weight, based on a total weight of the graphene nano platelets.
Two-component solventless adhesive compositions and methods of making same
The present disclosure provides a two-component solventless adhesive composition comprising a polyol component and an isocyanate component. The polyol component comprises a phosphate functional compound, and at least one polyol selected from polyester, polyether, and the combination thereof; and the isocyanate component comprises isocyanate prepolymer that is the reaction product of at least one isocyanate monomer and at least one polyol selected from polyester, polyether, and the combination thereof.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING FLAMEPROOF PUR/PIR RIGID FOAMS
A polyol formulation for producing flameproof polyurethane/polyisocyanate rigid foams (referred to individually or jointly in the following as “PUR/PIR rigid foams”), containing a polyester polyol having an OH number ≤250 mg KOH/g, a functionality of 1.5 to 2.5 and a free glycol content with Mn<150 g/mol of <6 wt. %, a polyethylene glycol with an average molecular weight of <700 g/mol and an average functionality of <2.5 and specific polyethyleneglycol alkylphenyl ethers, and methods for producing PUR/PIR rigid foams using said polyol formulation and to the PUR/PIR rigid foams obtained thereby are provided.
Antifouling article
The present embodiments relate to an antifouling article comprising polyurethane and medetomidine, or an enantiomer or salt thereof, from 0.1% by weight of the antifouling article and present in a polymer matrix of the polyurethane.
