FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES AND SYSTEMS HAVING A FLUID IMPERMEABLE BARRIER WITH A SELECTIVELY MINIMAL HARDNESS, THICKNESS, AND/OR MODULUS OF ELASTICITY
Example fluid collection devices and methods of assembling the fluid collection devices are described. The fluid collection devices include a fluid impermeable barrier and a fluid permeable body. The fluid impermeable barrier has a shore A durometer hardness of less than about (15). The fluid impermeable barrier at least partially defines a chamber and an opening extending therethrough that is configured to be positioned adjacent to a urethra of a subject. The fluid permeable body is positioned at least partially within the chamber to extend across at least a portion of the opening and configured to wick fluid away from the opening.
Automated Fluid Output Monitoring
Embodiments disclosed herein are directed to apparatus and methods for a fluid collection system and automated fluid flow monitoring. The system can include a collection container, and a detection device coupled to an outside surface thereof and configured to detect a volume of fluid disposed therein. The detection device can be coupled to the collection container without having to compromise the integrity of the closed fluid collection system or re-catheterizing the patient. The detection device can be configured to detect an inversion event, tilt event, and the like to determine a flow rate of fluid into the container. The detection device can be communicatively coupled with external computing devices to alert a clinician when the container is nearing capacity and when it has been emptied.
Ostomy Pouch
An ostomy pouch, comprises: inner and outer walls of flexible sheet material defining a cavity for containing stomal output; a deployable drain for draining stomal output from the cavity; and at least one sheet of comfort material comprising a hot-melt adhesive coating. The first sheet of comfort material is attached to the outer wall and at least a portion of the first sheet of comfort material forms a flap. The flap is configured to cover the deployable drain when the drain is in a retracted position.

DRAINABLE OSTOMY POUCH INCLUDING CLOSURE MEMBERS AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
A method of making drainable ostomy pouch outlet includes the steps of attaching a single-piece closure device on a downwardly extending outlet portion of the pouch and trimming side peripheries of the single-piece closure device to provide at least two separate closure members. The single-piece closure device may include at least one transversely-extending cut-line and/or at least one cut-out portions, which may be arranged to form at least two separate closure members on the outlet portion after the step of trimming.
Urine Collecting System Interventions For Improving Kidney Function
Renal and urine collection system interventions are provided that improve kidney function by manipulating pressures and/or infusing therapeutic agents in the renal pelvis of the kidney or kidneys. Setting a vacuum and/or infusing therapeutic agents in the renal pelvis results in increased glomerular filtration rate, general solute clearance, and free water excretion via the kidney through the urinary tract and is useful for treatment of CHF, ADHF, AKI, CKD, and many other conditions characterized by fluid overload by reducing fluid buildup. The fluid drawn from the renal pelvis or pelvises is delivered to an external or implanted reservoir or to the bladder using flow manipulation mechanism such as one-way valves, occlusion balloons, multi-lumen catheters, and other mechanisms. Pumps are provided for use in establishing the vacuum pressures that are either manual or motorized.

Medical device with an opening system
A medical device according to certain embodiments generally includes a first wall, a second wall, and a first deformable reinforcing member. The first wall and the second wall are joined to one another such that a cavity is formed between the first wall and the second wall. The cavity has an outlet opening formed at a proximal end of the medical device. The first deformable reinforcing member is attached to the first wall, and is deformable by manual application of pressure to lateral edges of the first deformable reinforcing member so as to radially distend the outlet opening. The first deformable reinforcing member includes at least one first notch formed in at least one lateral edge thereof. Each notch is configured to receive a portion of a user's digit to facilitate manual application of pressure to said lateral edges.

PANTS FOR URINE OR FECES AND METHOD OF DISPOSING OF URINE AND FECES
Pants (diaper) for urine or feces capable of disposing of urine or feces several times in a sanitary condition are disclosed. The pants include a front side, a back side, and a connection side configured to connect the front side to the back side. The back side has a hip section corresponding to a hip of a user, a first expansion section and a hip support are sequentially disposed on an internal surface of the hip section, the hip support is lifted according as the first expansion section expands to rise the hip of the user, a space for collecting the urine or the feces is formed between the hip section and the connection side in response to the lifting of the hip.
