ASSEMBLY FOR TREATMENT PROVIDING NON-INVASIVE CONTROLLED POSITIONING AND MOVEMENT OF A PATIENT'S JAW
An oral treatment assembly providing a plurality of medical treatments of a patient that are non-invasive and in particular provides new methods for treating jaw related medical conditions of a patient through predetermined positioning and controlled or guided movement of a patient's mandible and therefore their mandibular condyles during use, wherein the assembly includes an upper and lower assembly each defining transition portions having a reverse cut angle that extends downward from the posterior forward to the anterior, and where each are configured to selectively engage to restrict the retrusion of the mandible relative to the maxilla and to position the mandible relative to the maxilla downward and in some embodiment slightly forward in a caregiver defined treatment position and having a caregiver defined treatment movement area thereabout. Since the reversed cut angle contains two vectors it also discourages involuntary dropping of the mandible relative to the maxilla.
Therapeutic Oral Device
The present disclosure provides generally for a therapeutic oral device for assessing one or more health aspects of a user and/or alleviating one or more health conditions of a user, and associated methods for using the device. According to the present disclosure, the device may comprise a hard palate portion, a mouth guard portion, and a tongue retainer portion. The hard palate portion may comprise one or more materials. The hard palate portion may also comprise a composite of materials, including but not limited to one or more embedded materials. The mouth guard portion may comprise one or more components that provide stability and maintain the position of the therapeutic oral device within the mouth of a user. The tongue retainer portion may comprise an airway and a predetermined length. In some embodiments, the therapeutic oral appliance may comprise one or more electronic components that may be configured to interface with at least one external device. In some aspects, the therapeutic oral appliance may comprise one or more sensors and/or one or more electrodes
Surgical template
An embodiment of the invention provides a method of producing a surgical template comprising the steps of: obtaining a set of 3D surface data, the 3D surface data representing a surface of a patient's oral situation, obtaining a support structure model describing a surgical template configured to fit to a portion of the surface of the patient's oral situation, obtaining planned bore position data, the planned implant position data describing the longitudinal axes of a set of one or more planned implant bore holes relative to the 3D surface data, automatically modifying the support structure model to provide support material for guide holes in the support structure model corresponding to the one or more planned implant bore holes, producing the dental splint in dependence on the modified support structure model.
Mandibular advancement splint
A mandibular advancement splint)MAS) including dentition engagement units, each having a face for operatively abutting a complementary face of the other, and an opposed dentition engagement face which is adapted to positively engage the maxillary or mandibular dentition. A plane of abutment of the faces is approximately normal to the sagittal plane to facilitate sliding displacement of one engagement unit relative to the other. The MAS further includes at least one elastic element configured to operatively exert a user-configurable urging force between said dentition engagement units, so that the mandibular dentition is biased forward and along said abutment plane relative to the maxillary dentition when the splint is in use.
DENTAL BITE PLATE
A bite plate configured for use on upper teeth only that is configured to envelope central incisors, lateral incisors, and optionally one of a portion of upper cuspid pairs or entire upper cuspid pairs with lateral extensions that enhances whole body wellness.
STORAGE RESOURCE PROVISIONING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method and apparatus for managing a set of storage resources for a set of queries is described. In an exemplary embodiment, a method provisions processing resources of an execution platform and provisions storage resources of a storage platform. The execution platform uses the storage platform, which is shared with the execution platform, to process the set of queries. The method changes a number of the storage resources provisioned for the storage platform based on a storage capacity utilization by the set of queries of the storage resources. The method changes the number of the storage resources independently to a change of the processing resources in the execution platform. The method processes the set of queries using the changed number of the storage resources provisioned for the storage platform.
Glossoplasty implant tension relief system
A glossoplasty implant tension relief system for treating an airway of a patient has a first portion configured to engage a mandible of the subject. The system also has a second portion configured to engage a tongue of the subject to retain at least a portion of the tongue. The system includes a connecting portion configured to connect the first portion and the second portion. The connecting portion is constructed and arranged to provide tension between the first portion and the second portion. The connecting portion includes an i) inelastic portion and ii) an elastic portion configured to provide elasticity between the first portion and the second portion.
DENTAL APPARATUS FOR HOLDING THE TONGUE IN POSITION BETWEEN THE TEETH AND METHOD FOR USING SAME
A dental appliance is designed to hold the tongue in position between the teeth, and can hold the jaw jutted forward as well, during sleep in order to lessen the occurrence of snoring. The method of the present invention involves placing the dental appliance over the teeth in the mouth, gripping the tongue between the teeth with the dental appliance, and going to sleep. The dental appliance is intended to reduce snoring and can be used to treat obstructive sleep apnea.
DUAL PURPOSE ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE FOR ALIGNMENT, BRUXISM, AND SLEEP APNEA WITH SMART SENSORS AND CONTROL MODULE SYSTEM
A dual-purpose Oral Appliances having smart sensors and control module for treating sleep apnea and simultaneously straightening the teeth or reducing the bruxism or reducing the TMJ disorder are disclosed. The appliance contains upper and or lower teeth trays with or without air passageway. The appliance can be with or without external housing. The episodes of sleep apnea are reducing by one or combination of several mechanisms such as mandibular advancement (MAD), air stimulation by control of inhaled air flow bypassing the tongue and or micro-holes in air passageways, neuro/muscle electric stimulation of tongue and sleep position training. The sensors located inside or outside of the mouth, measure physiological and or biological and or chemical aspects of the patients. The sensors are connected to control module system consists of battery, microprocessor, and data transmission technologies.
Sleep apnea oral appliance with connectors
An oral appliance having an upper dental tray and lower dental tray. The upper dental tray and lower dental tray are connected by an elongated connector having receptacles at its proximal and distal ends for engaging laterally extending supports on the upper dental tray and lower dental tray, respectively. A backstop is positioned adjacent to each of the laterally extending supports to prevent movement of the connector in a predetermined direction.
