Provided is a photochromic optical article obtained by bonding a pair of optical article plates to each other with an adhesive layer that contains (A) a photochromic compound and (B) a urethane resin, wherein (B) the urethane resin is obtained by polymerizing: (B1) a polyiso(thio)cyanate compound having two or more iso(thio)cyanate groups in a molecule; (B2) a poly(thi)ol compound having, in a molecule, two or more active hydrogen-containing groups selected from a hydroxyl group and a thiol group; and (B3) a mono(thi)ol compound having, in a molecule, one active hydrogen-containing group selected from a hydroxyl group and a thiol group. Also provided is a method for manufacturing the photochromic optical article.

A method for coating a surface, including the steps: a) applying a first layer of a moisture-curable composition onto a surface, b) optionally letting the applied moisture-curable composition cure into a dried first layer, c) applying a second layer of the moisture-curable composition onto the optionally dried first layer, wherein the moisture-curable composition includes: between 20 and 50 wt.-%, preferably between 25 and 45 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the composition, of at least one organic polymer which is liquid at room temperature and contains reactive silane groups, and between 10 and 30 wt.-%, preferably between 15 and 25 wt.-%, based on the total weight of the composition, of at least one polyether PE having between 2 and 6 ether oxygen atoms and is free of hydroxyl groups; and at least one curing catalyst for reactive silane groups. The method yields a multilayer coating with high intercoat adhesion.

The present invention provides an aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD) comprising an amorphous polyester having a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry of less than 30 C.; wherein the aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD) has a glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of 0 C. to 20 C. and a hard block content of greater than 50%. Coatings, adhesives, sealants, paints, primers and topcoats, made from the inventive aqueous polyurethane dispersion (PUD) pass detergent resistance testing according to the American Architectural Manufacturers Association's standard, AAMA 615-13, have a pencil hardness according to ASTM D3363 of at least 3H, and are particularly suited for use on low surface energy substrates such as vinyl and other surfaces including floors, windows, doors, window frames, door frames, window shutters, railing, gates, pillars, arbors, pergolas, trellises, gazebos, posts, fencing, pipes and fittings, wire and cable insulation, automobile components, credit cards, and siding.
