Packaging Systems for Implantable Devices and Related Methods

A tray for securing an implantable device to a carrier member includes a slot configured to retain the carrier member and a receptacle adjacent the slot. The carrier member surrounds a shaft of the implantable device. The receptacle has a first width at a proximal end of the receptacle to receive first and second arms of the implantable device in an initial state in which the first and second arms extend substantially perpendicularly from the shaft. The receptacle has a second width at a distal end of the receptacle for receiving the first and second arms of the implantable device in a collapsed state in which the first and second arms are folded against the shaft such that the carrier member can be slid over the first and second arms to retain the first and second arms. The second width is less than the first width.

MEDICAMENT DELIVERY SYSTEM, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD

An intra-orifice medicament delivery system and formation method involve a housing defining an inner chamber extending along a longitudinal axis, with the chamber wall defining one or more openings therethrough. A retention arrangement extends from the housing, and is adapted to removably retain the housing within a bodily orifice defined by an orifice wall. An osmotic delivery device is disposed within the chamber and includes an osmogen portion and medicament-including portion disposed within a semipermeable membrane. The osmogen portion expands and applies pressure to the medicament-including portion in response to absorption of a liquid from within the bodily orifice permeating through the semipermeable membrane. The medicament-including portion is arranged to emit a medicament in response to the pressure applied by the expanded osmogen portion, with the medicament exiting through a membrane orifice defined by the semipermeable membrane and subsequently exiting the housing through the one or more openings such that the medicament is delivered into the bodily orifice.

Refillable Implantable Device for Delivering a Drug Compound

Device for radiosurgical treatment of uterine fibroids

Removable marker implants having fiducial markers disposed on multiple elongate members extend and splay laterally outward when deployed thereby providing improved 3D localization and tracking of a portion of the patient's body for stereotactic radiosurgery. Such an approach is particularly useful for tracking of the uterus during radiosurgery treatment of uterine fibroids. Such implants can include an outer sheath that contains the multiple elongate members during delivery into the portion of the body. The elongate members can be slidably disposed within the shaft and advanced into an expanded deployed position by advancement of an applicator shaft or rod within the sheath. Marker implant can also be integrally formed implants with flexible arms having fiducial markers thereon that can be constrained in a sheath for delivery and resiliently splay laterally outward when released from the shaft. Methods of delivery and deployment are also provided.
